Any Help for Asher is Greatly Needed and Appreciated

8/11/24 – Unfortunately, we don’t know what is wrong with Asher. A lot has happened since he was found a month ago. He got over what we think was toxoplasmosis and now he has a painful swelling in his front right elbow. I spent a large portion of Friday talking with doctors from 4 different hospitals.

He may need to go to an internal medicine specialist or orthopedic both of which we cannot afford.. Tomorrow we will be adding in another antibiotic that has to be special ordered. He is on pain and anti inflammatory meds. This could be an infection in the bone or joint but he is not responding to the antibiotic that treats bone infection. He is very painful.

Any help for Asher is greatly needed and appreciated. https://4paws1heart.org/donations/ Gina

Continuing to Help in Making a Difference

8/10/24 – Continuing to help in making a difference in the lives of the abandoned, stray, and abused. Each year seems to be the worst when it comes to the dangers so many strays face and this year is no different. It certainly takes a Village and without your donations babies like these would die on the streets. Thank you to everyone involved. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Smoke Appears to Have Been Dumped

8/10/24 – Smoke appeared to have been ‘dumped’ and was being fed by a friend of 4 paws 1 heart. This past week he showed up with an abscess on his cheek. He was taken to our partner veterinary hospital,

Groesbeck Animal Hospital, where he had extensive blood work and treated for the abscess, and infection. When the infection is cleared he will be vaccinated, tested, and neutered.

Our friend found a great home for this very sweet boy who loves attention. – diana https://4paws1heart.org//donations/

Posey, Lily, Ginja, and Bowie have found homes

8/7/24 – UPDATE: Posey, Lily, Ginja, and Bowie have found homes with Lisa’s family members and they will take care of their vetting when appropriate. As the other three our bonding to Lisa and each other, the remaining three may be foster failures.

It started with an email from Heather of the Kitty Catfe. Heather reported that a man in Detroit, who had multiple litters of kittens, couldn’t feed them and they were dying. He was posting videos. He let 15 cats go in the woods. Two had died in less than a few days and 7 were left.

Based on Heather’s facebook post someone went to the site and rescued the seven. That person contacted Heather and said she was willing to foster them but asked for Heather’s help in placement; unfortunately, the KItty Catfe is still looking for a permanent place and their fosters are filled so all but they will help in promoting them.

The rescuer, Lisa, then asked if Heather knew of any organization who could help with medical and that’s where we stepped in. This is Lily, Posey, Batman, Tini, Ginja, Bowie, and Bones. All were very thin with fleas and Tini and Bones appeared to need special care. Tini needed to be seen by one of our partner vets because she was so dehydrated otherwise all are waiting to be ready for their full vetting which we hope will be done at the Humane Society of St. Clair (SNAP). – diana https:4paws1heart.org/donations/

Met Wym … Blind, Stray and Injured

8/6/24 – Meet Wym. It was about one month ago when a very kind couple saw a cat almost get hit by a car. The car swerved around her and she didn’t even flinch. The couple was able to capture her and discovered that she “had no eyes”.

The couple felt they just couldn’t leave her on the streets in her condition so they brought her home to live in their backyard. The other day when going out to feed her they noticed an “abscess on her cheek” which was very swollen.

We agreed to help with medical as long as the couple guaranteed that very sweet Wym would be kept inside from now on. They promised to give her a furever home.

Wym will be going to our great friends at Five Mile Animal Hospital. Update to follow. – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

The Story of Amazing Bianca and Her Rescuer Laura

7/30/24 – On 4/17/23 we posted about sweet Bianca. She had showed up at the finder’s door at 1 a.m. Laura, Bianca’s, rescuer advised that because they live in the ‘country’ they often have animals dumped on their property. Laura and her husband took Bianca into their garage to keep her safe and asked for medical assistance. Laura was hesitant to let Bianca mingle with her pets until Bianca could be checked.

We authorized a quick appointment at Groesbeck Animal Hospital where she was tested, vaccinated for rabies, and dewormed. Later Bianca was taken to Patterson Veterinary Hospital for the remaining vaccines and spay.

Yesterday I received the following happy update: “I wanted to share some updated photos of our baby girl, Bianca. Thank you for helping with the vet costs to get her taken care of in the start. Bianca was treated well at Patterson! This beautiful girl has sooooooo much personality and has been an amazing addition to our family. She has helped mend the relationship between two of my other cats. I wanted to share how amazing she is and how great her life is thanks to you helping me keep her!

Here’s some photos of her grown up! Best wishes, Laura and Bianca Cat” – diana https://4paws1heart.org/donations/

Asher is recovering from Toxoplasmosis

7/24/2024 -This beautiful boy now named Asher is recovering from Toxoplasmosis. This is the 1st case I’ve ever seen.

He was found dragging his rear legs and unable to urinate. His rescuer reached out to us for help almost 2 weeks ago. She was able to get his initial care covered with donations which really helped to get his treatment started. To keep cost down he was treated based on symptoms. However, the doctors feel certain he was positive based on lab work and his response to treatment.

On July 12th I was able to get him in over at Moore Veterinary Hospital for continued care and today his rescuer said he is urinating and now able to walk on his own! His last dose of meds is tomorrow and we will then help get his vaccines started. Gina https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
