Sadie, A Stray Cat

Sadie was a stray cat who was shot at within close range.  Her injury was brought to the attention of, “4 Paws 1 Heart”, and we paid for her surgery and care.

Upon exploratory surgery tonight it was determined that the pellet put a hole in her abdominal wall causing internal organs to slip through. Our doctor fixed the hole, and spayed Sadie.  Now she is recovering at the hospital, and she will go into foster care in a couple days.  Then, Sadie will be put up for adoption looking for her forever home…  Another happy ending for a homeless stray…

Update: March 2, 2012 Sadie was discharged today.  She recovered well from her surgery, and she went to a rescue who will place her in a loving home.

Delainie

Delainie was brought to our attention a few weeks ago. She was involved in an accident that required emergency surgery on her esophagus, or the alternative was immediate euthanasia.

We had the surgery done, and a feeding tube was placed. She has been fighting hard to pull through the unexpected challenges she has faced, but 4 paws 1 heart continues to provide her with the medical treatment she needs… Please keep her in your prayers for a full recovery. ~ gina

March 1, 2012 – Update:  Happy to say that Delainie is doing well.  We pulled the feeding tube tonight!  She is eating great, but still has Pneumonia that we’re treating for.  It’s a miracle that she has pulled thought this.  Our doctor did an amazing surgery to save Delainies life, and her foster has done a wonderful job at taking care of her nursing care.

Sassy

Sassy was brought in by a concerned resident. She has been feeding Sassy the stray for over a year now. 4p1h tested Sassy for feluk/fiv = Negative, spayed her, and treated her minor injury on her tip of the tail where her vertebrae was exposed. Sassy went back to the resident where she will recover and be released, or maybe even fostered.
