We were contacted about Mia who suffered severe frostbite. She required amputation of her tail, tip of her ears, and her spay. Her little feet are still healing. She is in need of a forever home. Preferably, no other cats. If you are interested I’ll put u in touch with the foster. Gina
Remember sweet precious Mia who was found frozen 2 weeks ago and full of frostbite? I was just talking with her rescuer and her tail and ear amputation are healing, but her pads on feet are sloughing and damaged from the frostbite. We are having the doctor recheck her tomorrow for possibly another round of antibiotics to prevent secondary infection. This girl still needs to be vaccinated and fixed. One phonecall led to another and resulted in a small group of people saving a stray dog from destruction. Steve was the rescuer, Misfit Angels Rescue was the group that got this boy out of the shelter, and 4 Paws 1 Heart helped to network it and pay for neutering/vaccines. Cody came from the cold, lonley, scary streets of Detroit and into a warm, loving, safe, home. He will no longer have to worry about where or when he will eat, he will not have to stay awake for protection, he will not be cold, scared, injured, or harmed. His future will be wrapped in love and kindness because of people who took the time to care. Gina

A litter of kittens born on the roof of a house in GPS were rescued at a few weeks old. The mom cats tend to do this to avoid being killed by coyotes in the area. I’m told that In GPS you are not allowed to feed outside cats or you will be fined. Unfortunately, the animals who do not choose to be born are not given medical help or rescue options in this city. Over the last several months we have been contacted and offered to assist with vetting because we do not deny help for an animal that is in need. Grace, Thomas, and Baxter are about 6 months old and ready for good homes. If interested I will put you in touch with the current foster. Gina
Unfortunately, people continue to try and scam by using our logo for t shirt and hoodie puchases. We try to keep up with these scams and report/delete when brought to our attention, but if you see any of this happening with clothing or inappropriate messages please let us know and we will address it immediately. As of right now we do not have an online merchandise availability, so assume these are all scams. Eventually we hope to have an online purchase option on our website. 3/7/24 – On March 3, 2017, Carla arrived in the home of Team Chance. She had been surrendered to the Taylor Animal Shelter after having her legs slammed in a door and becoming paralyzed. She was only 9 weeks old. 4 paws 1 heart was contacted and after I spoke with Denise (the foster mom to Chance) we agreed to take on Carla’s medical needs. We had hoped she would be able to some day walk (although a little Gimpy) like Chance, but unfortunately no amount of therapy was enough. So, if anyone knows what a medical challenge is and how much unwanted animals need our amazing Village, it’s our girl, Carla.
This is great advice but I would also like to suggest that in addition to microchipping your pet, you consider looking into collars (breakaway especially for cats) that have air-tag type equipment which will provide tracking ability just in case your baby escapes the house. – diana
CARLA: Well Team, on Sunday we turn our clocks forward 1 hour. Spring will officially be here very soon and kitten season will be in full swing! While we’re making our plans for the warmer weather, kittens will be being born in garages, back yards, fields, under houses and in the streets. They will be starving, getting hit by cars, attacked by predators…4 legged and sadly 2 legged.
4 Paws 1 Heart will be trying to keep up with all the calls they will be getting to help pregnant mamas, injured kittens, and vaccines, spay and neuter for kittens and cats being saved by rescuers. There’s 3 ways you can help.

3/6/24 – It was March 26, 2019 when we were contacted about this very sweet boy who found his way into the yard of a very kind woman whom we had helped in the past, Alanda. He was taken to one of our partner vets where he was found positive for heart worm. His treatment started immediately. By the end of May, 2019 Blaz had received all of his heart worm treatment, was neutered, vaccinated and ready for adoption. Thankfully, a wonderful couple and follower of 4 Paws 1 Heart read Blaz’s story and fell in love with him. He was adopted and became Gus. They all moved to a northern city in Michigan where Blaz became Gus, lived like a king and even got ‘married’ (haha). Yesterday we learned that our very sweet Gus passed away. Please remember Gus’s mom and dad in your prayers and be thankful for all of the amazing people in our communities that work together to save the most vulnerable. – diana
3/6/24 – On February 23 we were contacted about a cat, Blaze, who was found in a neighboring yard with severe injuries to his face and legs. Blaze was taken to Eaton County Humane Society and was seen by Dr. Diana. He had 5 abscessed wounds on his head and one abscessed wound on his leg. All were treated and today Blaze is doing great per his finder. – diana
3/6/24 – In August, 2023 Athena was one of 3 kittens dumped in Jennifer’s neighbor’s backyard. Athena had a very deep wound in her neck which was filled with maggots, she also had a broken tail. The other two kittens were not injured. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for all of their medical needs which included the usual spay/neuter, vaccines, testing, but Athena needed treatment for the deep neck wound and a partial amputation of her tail. As you can see, everyone is fully recovered. Athena and Calliope are very bonded and their rescuer, who is fostering for Happy Feet Pet Rescue, is looking for that very special home for both of them; they are still a little shy. What we thought was pain from her deformity developed into a steady decline after her appointment. Claudia began exhibiting neurological behavior and she could not walk or stand on her own. She was suffering and so the kindest and hardest decision was made to end her pain. Please keep her rescuer in your thoughts and prayers. Susan bottle raised, provided food, shelter, and cared for Claudia and her 2 sisters after they were found in a cat colony 7 months ago. She adopted out the 2 other girls and she was committed from the start. We are so sorry for her loss but gratefulfor people like her who do everything they can to help the homeless. Gina
