Blitzen – Along in a Parking Lot with an Injured Leg – Recovering and Looking For Her Forever Home

3/8/15 – Blitzen was found in a dark parking lot not being able to use one of her legs. A good samaritan brought her to the emergency and she was found to have a smashed paw. There was speculation that she would have to have her leg amputated. Fortunately, our good friends at Tigerlily Cat Rescue took her in and have been working very hard to save her leg. Look at how beautiful she is!  Here is a message from Tigerlily Cat Rescue ~ diana

“Update for 4 Paws 1 Heart on this little sweetie …
Adorable little Blitzen had a photo shoot yesterday! She is such an adorable and funny little girl. Next week is her 3rd week of cold laser therapy on her crushed front paw – she’s not the best patient for the laser as sitting still is not really her thing! But, we are seeing her use the paw more!!!”blitzen3:7:15

Who Leaves Behind Innocent Pets in a Locked Home Without Food/Water – Wisker and Pixel

3/8/15 – These little sweethearts were left behind when their guardians were evicted. Seriously, who does that???? Unfortunately the response to that is “far too many subhumans”. Wisker (black male) and Pixel (orange female) will be vetted, vaccinated, tested, and spayed/neutered complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. If you are interested in giving them a forever, loving home, please contact [email protected] ~ dianawiskerandpixel3:6:15joaddington

Happy Beginnings – Taz and Momma

3/5/15 – These cuties were found locked in a barn last Fall. There was a momma and her kittens. Our good friend, Albert, rescued them, kept mom (tuxedo) and one of her babies (Taz) and found homes for the other kittens. As is always the case, we were happy to pay for their initial vetting, vaccinations and follow through with the spaying and neutering. Albert said that Momma and Taz were originally angry with Auntie Di for the whole ‘fixing’ thing but after a couple of days, Momma became ten times more affectionate than she has ever been. Thanks, Albert, for taking such good care of these babies. ~ dianaalbertdestafiniscats-mommaandtaz3:4:15

Ginger – Needs Our Help and a Forever Home

3/6/15 – This very sweet girl needs our help; the only break she’s had was to be rescued by the right person. She needs a foster/adopter and we could use financial help so that we can follow through with her medical bills. If you can help with providing her a home whether permanently or while she goes through treatment, contact Gina at [email protected]. If you would like to make a donation to help with medical bills, donations can be made through paypal on this page or through our website www.4paws1heart.org.Here is Ginger’s very sad story.

Ginger was found wandering the streets during the below zero temperatures. She was severely malnourished and had a leg wound. The rescuer’s friend, Gina, (not our Gina) contacted us to get help. Ginger was taken to one of the caring veterinarians who work with us and it was determined that the wound on her leg was infected and was the result of a gun shot. Fortunately, the doctor was able to get most of the metal out but when he tested her for heart worm, it turned out to be positive. When I talked with the doctor, he told me how very sweet she is and it just broke my heart to think we couldn’t help her. So, one way or the other the rescuers and 4 Paws 1 Heart have decided to do whatever we can to get her healthy and find her a foster home — but even better a loving, forever home. Ginger is not spayed and won’t be able to have that surgery until she goes through heart worm treatment. She can’t start her treatment until she gains some weight. Ginger is crate trained, good with cats and good with kids. Because she is in heat she has not been allowed to be around the male dogs of the rescuers so they are not sure how she is with dogs. She is very loving and never barks. Her current guardians said she is just the best dog but because they already have their dog limit they can’t foster much longer. Please share Ginger’s story. We’ll keep everyone updated. ~ dianaginger3:7:15 gingerwginapiscopo3:6:15

Dig Dug – Running the Streets and Now Running a Household

3/6/15 – There are so many sad stories about abuse and abandonment of those who depend on us for their lives. I always feel blessed when I can share the ‘now’ stories of the animals we have helped. This is Dig Dug. We received a call for help from a friend of 4p1h. Dig Dug had been tasered after a long chase to get him to safety. He was running in and out of major streets and just wouldn’t stop for anything. 4 Paws 1 Heart took care of Dig’s vetting and our good friends, the Wolfs, adopted him. He is so spoiled!!dig-amberwolf3:5:15

The Transformation of Katniss Everdeen

3/5/15 – Here is 1 before picture and a few pictures of her journey since she was found lifeless on the street..
Katiness Everdeen is beautiful, smart, loyal, eager to please, and she is ready for that forever home. All of her previous challenges have become her greatest assets. I have had the pleasure of getting to know her very well and I’m blessed that she has come into our life. Her foster family has been dedicated to her success, happiness, her strength, and I couldn’t havefound a better foster mommy…u know who u are ♡. Whoever tossed Katiness on the curb that night was a coward and an abuser with no humanity for life. They intentionally starved her nearly to death. With the support and structure from her foster family Katiness has overcome the psychological and physical abuse she was forced to endure. We are all so very proud of her. Please share so that we can get her into that forever home. She is ready!! FOR ALL QUESTIONS PLEASE EMAIL ME AT: [email protected]

Working Together to Make A Difference

3/5/15 – On March 3 Gina posted an alert regarding two dogs running in the streets of Detroit, the Michigan Animal Crew (MAC) was able to capture them and 4 Paws 1 Heart agreed to pay for their vetting, vaccinations, testing, etc. Unfortunately, one was found heart worm positive and will need additional treatment. We were happy to help MAC and anyone interested in fostering/adopting these two beauties, should contact the Michigan Animal Crew on their facebook page. ~ diana11043096_916766508355648_6434815754668321392_n
