The Kittens of Summer – 2015 (continued)

7/16/15 – This family was recently saved by a very kind woman who has asked for assistance with vetting the kittens and getting the mom spayed. This is just an example of how your donations are spent. Donations can be made by using the link on this website, using the donations link on our facebook page, or by mailing a check to 4 Paws 1 Heart,thekittensofsummer2015 ---Thanks! ~ diana

Onyx – Update

ONYX UPDATE!
The prayers from all of YOU are helping Onyx!!!! I just left the clinic and this beautiful girl was eating a tiny amount of food for me! I’m going to get her some sirloin to give this evening because she needs the protein. We still have a ways to go but this made my DAY! Huge thank you to the Animal Urgent and Critical Care, Dr. Maria and Dr. Graves especially, for getting this girl to this stage of recovery! Gina

Onyx – Needs Your Prayers

7/14/15 – onyx7:14:15Some serious prayers are needed for this puppy. She just underwent a plasma transfusion last night, and tonight as of 2am in this photo, she is recovering from exploratory surgery. We have been covering her medical care since Saturday night. She remains stable, but still in critical condition. She is under a year old, 10 pounds, Chihuahua mix, and one of the things her bloodwork shows is she has severe pancreatitis. Her care has been extensive, and although the underlying cause of her condition is still unknown, we are trying to pull her through to give her a fighting chance of survival. There could be several causes for her symptoms. We need your prayers and positive thoughts to help get her through. It has worked before…so please help us support “Onyx”, and if you would like to contribute towards her medical it would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you Gina

HERCULES – Mid Year Financial Report

7/9/15 – Mid-Year Financial Report: As reported earlier in the year, in 2014 we paid almost $85,000 in medical bills which was approximately $30,000 more than we paid in 2013. I remind you of this because from January 1 through July 8, 2015, 4 Paws 1 Heart has already spent $65,615 in medical bills for abandoned, abused, and stray companion animals!!! That is almost $11,000 per month compared to $7,000 per month in 2014.

The past six months have brought through our doors, hundreds of kittens needing basic help, serious treatments for upper respiratory infections, injuries, and a variety of other issues (like little Allie with the Hernia). This is not to mention the many cats like Chance, Magic (who will be fitted with a brace due to a broken leg which was never treated), Bridgette, and Molly (just to name a few). Then we have the many dogs, such as Katniss, Ginger, Odin, Princess Buttons, King, Blizzard, Joy, and Courtney who came to us with parvo virus, heart worm, strange objects in their stomachs, and other major injuries. And, unfortunately, I don’t see things getting any better.

The 4 Paws 1 Heart Board, Gina, and I are so very thankful that we have been able to continue to help these sweet abandoned animals but we couldn’t do it without our generous friends who donate money and attend our fundraisers, as well as the many community businesses who support us. But at this time we may have to dial back a little until donations pick up and we have a few successful fundraisers behind us.

Nonetheless, in light of the over 2,500 animals we have helped in almost five years of existence, I thought it only appropriate that I post our sweet boy Hercules because it was through his torture, that 4 Paws 1 Heart rose to a whole new level of helping the abandoned and abused. We continue to love our famous mascot and will always be thankful to his mom (Dr. Kern) and his dad, Chris for keeping him in our lives. ~ dianahercules7:9:15

Simon – Abandoned by his Owners and Found to Have Heart Worm

7/8/15 – Meet our newest case, Simon. Simon has been diagnosed with heart worm (our 8th case in just the last couple of months). As any dog owner knows, this is not inexpensive treatment and it plays havoc on the animal’s total health. Simon will be available for adoption once he is fully recovered. Thank You, in advance, for everyone who donates their hard-earned money so that we can continue to save. We will let you know more about Simon as we go along.~ dianasimonw:john7:8:15

The Kittens of Summer 2015

7/7/15 – Here are more kittens being medically cared for by 4 Paws 1 Heart. Please check out our Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart page or petfinder.com if you are interested in adopting any of these kittens/cats. Although our primary mission is to fund medical treatment for abandoned animals, are secondary mission is to help rescuers with permanent placement of the animal. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to save an animal through medical procedures but not play a role in helping to find that forever family. ~ dianakittensofsummer2015

The Pool Deck Kittens – Found Under a Pool Deck

7/7/15 – Good News! More babies may be going to their forever homes. Remember, if you are a new kitten mom/dad, please consider adopting two. I will guarantee you that most adopters of one kitten will come back a year later looking for another baby to add to the family. Save yourself some effort by adopting two bonded kittens at the same time. You can then skip the whole socialization process and have entertainment better than any TV show you can find. ~ diana
