Amanda – A Return Visit to the Vet For an Infected Puncture Wound

3/21/20 – Amanda was rescued by our friend Patricia B. Patricia has been trying to find a furever home for her and when she was first rescued 4 Paws 1 Heart took care of her medical needs — which most often always includes treatment for an upper respiratory infection (URI). Well, all of a sudden, Amanda’s nose started swelling (not photo). She didn’t show signs of a URI and Patricia couldn’t find in puncture holes or wounds. She worried that maybe Amanda had cancer. We paid for Amanda’s repeat visit to the doctor and she determined that Amanda had an infection most likely caused by a claw puncture. The Doctor drained the area in several spots, gave her some antibiotics and put a cone on her. Cats’ claws are like needles and you may not see a puncture would because they heal that fast.
I know this will be a tough financial time for millions of people but if you are able to donate, it would be much appreciated. The medical need will not end but will only get worse as the weather warms. Thank YOU for your support. – diana

Dozer and Zac – One was Trapped, Neutered, Released and the Other Will Find His Furever Home

3/18/20 – These are very trying times for animals and especially for the humans who care for them. There are veterinarians who are concerned about their staffs and might be closing or changing the way they care for their patients. Stray animals on the streets still need our help but for 4 Paws 1 Heart, the potential for rescheduling fundraisers could mean a loss of at least $10,000. This may put us in the position of having to say “NO”. We are so very sorry for all of the people out of work because of the many closures and those relying on their IRA’s and 401’s to pay their bills. With God’s blessings, we will get through this together. Here are two beauties we recently helped. Dozer was TNR’d and Zac is looking for a furever home. If you are interested, contact Theresa at: [email protected] – Thank you for all of your prayers by working together we will get through this. – diana

Scrunch and Squirt – Rescued With Intestinal Issues and Upper Respiratory Infections

3/17/20 – These sweeties, Scrunch and Squirt, were rescued separately but are now inseparable. Scrunch has had intestinal problems that we had to take care of a few times and both have been treated for upper respiratory infections. They received their vaccines, testing, and were spayed/neutered. The rescue family decided they couldn’t let them go. Happy Beginnings for everyone. ~ diana

Ziggy – For 2 Years the Rescuer Thought He was Feral – Finally Trapped and Treated

3/16/20 – Ziggy had been hanging around the rescuer’s home for the last two years. The caring woman has been trying to trap him for awhile because she saw he had wounds and appeared to have an upper respiratory infection. Finally, she did it! Ziggy was taken to one of our partner doctors and was treated for the infection, and an infestation of ear mites. Once the infection is cleared, Ziggy will have his infected teeth extracted and will be neutered and vaccinated. It turns out that Ziggy loves to be petted and the rescuer has already lined up a home for him. It truly takes a village. – Diana
