HELP FIND SOUP

11/28/23 – Why is Soup so important to us??? Because in 2014, Soup was found on a lawn with his head stuck in a soup can (read about his journey on our website). It appeared he had been attacked, possibly by an animal, while being unable to defend himself and had a broken pelvis. Chance’s mom cared for him while he healed with crate rest and when he was fully recovered he was adopted by a wonderful family who continued to stay in touch with us. Of course, we care for all lost animals but Soup is in the hearts of everyone of us. – Diana.

And, he lived with Dave and I for a year until finding a forever home. Gina

Update: Soup was last spotted on Brys near Marter in Saint Clair Shores. Please keep looking and sharing. This very special boy needs to get home to his family! Gina

Update: Caught on a ring camera on Friday, Brys and Marter. – Mary Beth

REST PEACEFULLY MR. KITTY, HE DIDN’T DIE ALONE

It was end of October when this sick, old, emaciated male cat was found after wandering into a feral cat colony. Stephanie, had been caring for the colony for years and noticed Mr Kitty was not a regular, but no one claimed him. She desperately tried to get him medical attention and she was able to get him into a low cost clinic, but because they were not a full service hospital, they were limited as to what could be done. When she reached out to 4 Paws 1 Heart, my gut feeling was that he was very critical and needed to be helped.

We made arrangements for Mr Kitty to be seen. After the exam, blood work, and x rays, it was determined that the most humane thing to do was euthanize. He was suffering. The doctor feels he had cancer throughout his body and he was unable to eat and hold it down.

Thank God he didn’t die alone from starvation on the street, and this is why we need our supporters to help us continue to help them.

Rest Peacefully Mr. Kitty

JACK & SALLY

11/27/23 – Again, Jack Skeleton and Sally were rescued in late July and mid August — all in the same area. Both were “skin and bones” when rescued. Jack was only about 6-8 weeks; Sally was a little older. They have both had blood work, vaccinated, tested, and spayed/neutered complements of our donors who make our mission possible. – diana

PLEASE REMEMBER LUCY IN YOUR PRAYERS

11/277/23 – Lucy was initially rescued from a mobile home park on July 31. At the time it was thought that she had an upper respiratory infection. Eventually, it was discovered that Lucy had a polyp in her nasal passage. Lucy had the polyp removed and was vaccinated and spayed; she tested negative for fiv and felv. Although it appeared Lucy was getting better, she started having issues again and last week she was again taken to the vet and Dr. Zalac was surprised to see that a polyp had grown back. The polyp will again be removed and we are hoping that this will be the last of Lucy”s issues in that her potential adopters are waiting for a clean bill of health before they take her into their home. Please remember Lucy in your prayers. – diana

THIS IS LB IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A VERY SWEET BOY

He’s a young adult male who was found on the street several weeks ago hungry and scared. His rescuer and Angel Char Dean opened up her heart and home to supply food and shelter. Then she reached out to 4 Paws 1 Heart for medical assistance. The wonderful staff over at Moore Veterinary Hospital were happy to help by examining LB, starting him on his vaccinations, and this pic is from last week when he had his big neuter day.

LB will be safe loved and warm this holiday. If you are looking for a very sweet boy please reach out to Char for more information. Gina

MUFFINS

11/25/23 – A happy beginning for sweet Muffins. Thank you to the loving and caring hearts of Gina and her husband, Dave for the sleepless nights and the many long trips to several doctors. If only every animal on our streets could be so lucky. – diana

A few months ago David Jenio and I decided to make Miss Muffins’ a permanent member of our family.

She was found by Bambi Pesti Hartter back in July of 2022 and I took her in as a foster with what we thought was just a simple upper respiratory infection. One year of daily care, 5 doctors, several travels to hospitals, constant worry watching her have good and bad days, fundraising to raise money for medical, missing work, sleepless nights, and fear of the worst, but it was worth every second!!!!!

She couldn’t smell, eat dry food, breath without congestion, she couldn’t jump because her equilibrium was off, her hearing was dulled, she had constant nasal discharge, pressure in her head, and yet an undeniable will to live.

WE WERE COMMITTED!!!!!

THEN, we found an incredible surgeon who SAVED Muffins’ LIFE. Her name is Dr. Brayden Stanley at Animal Surgical Center in Flint. There are no words to tell you how much her talent and skills have made all the difference for Muffins’. A stent needed to be placed in Muffins’ nasophyrengeal area where her sinuses were supposed to drain. They couldn’t drain because there was no hole due to chronic inflammation or congenital deformity. A solid band of scar tissue had formed over what was supposed to be a hole. After blunt dissection, stent placement, several weeks to flint for flushes, and removal of the stent Muffins’ was good!!!! Her recovery happened to be one year to the date we took her in as a foster which was July 5th.

We are thankful every day for Dr. Stanley and the Surgical team, 4 Paws 1 Heart for covering her medical, and all of her supporters who donated thousands towards saving her life!!!! We R blessed.

PRAYERS FOR BANDIT PLEASE

11/22/23 – 8-9 week old Bandit was rescued from the streets this past Sunday. We’ve worked with his rescuer before and because she had just used all of her available funds for a mom and 6 kittens rescued last week, she asked for our help with Bandit. Bandit was covered with fleas and had a distended belly. Fortunately, Bandit was able to get into our great veterinary partner, Five Mile Animal Hospital, yesterday. The doctor advised me that he was still unsure of the cause of the distended belly — the options were FIP (worst scenario) or worms. The doctor thought it best to treat for worms and closely follow his progress and that is what we’ll be doing. Bandit was given appropriate vaccines and will have a follow up appointment within two weeks. – diana
