5/24/25 – Meet Simon. He was being cared for by neighbors in a local trailer park. The people feeding him believe he showed up after his owners passed away. Possibly abandoned. They noticed he was getting in fights with cats in the park, and then discovered he was declawed and could not defend himself. That is when they reached out for help to Aimee M Martin Lincoln. She quickly rescued him and we helped cover his medical care. This little guy will need a forever home. If anyone is interested please contact us and we will put you in touch with Aimee.
5/23/25 – This baby kitten named “Kerrygold” was found with a very large umbilical hernia. She is only 1.8 pounds and surgery on a kitten this small is a risk. However, not doing surgery is also very dangerous because the intestines can become strangulated and she could die.
We have approved covering the surgery and it will be performed at Comfort’s Place Veterinary Hospital, so that this baby can get the care she needs.
Please keep Kerrygold in your thoughts and prayers as she takes this next step towards a healthier and happier future.
5/21/25: On May 8th we were contacted about a husky that was seen hit by a car on the expressway. The good Samaritans and some bystanders were able to get the dog in the car and transported over to emergency where she was diagnosed with a fractured femur.
Estimates were from $2500-$5000 for surgical repair which was not something they could afford. We offered to help with a portion of the cost so that Sheba could have a chance.
She is about 1 year old and they are looking for a permanent home once she is fully healed.
5/16/25 I posted the story about Pascha (4/20/25 story below), who was found in a garage abandoned by the mom and starving for food. After some networking a friend and supporter of 4 Paws 1 Heart offered to bottle feed and find him a home. Well, today was the day and his foster mom Melissa, made his new family a baby book. Happy new beginnings Pascha!
Meet Pascha
4/20/25 Meet Pascha which means Easter in Latin. This little baby not even weighing 1 pound was the only survivor of 6 kittens and in need of urgent bottle feeding. The mom cat disappeared a couple days ago which was very unusual according to the homeowner, so it’s possible she was injured. All we know is Pascha cried for over 24 hours until a good friend and supporter of 4 paws 1 heart stepped up and offered to go get her yesterday. She is taking the bottle well but having some diarrhea. 4 paws 1 heart will be there for any medical if and when needed. Thank you Melissa Jackson for not even hesitating to save this baby kitten! Happy Easter from all of us at 4 Paws 1 Heart! https://4paws1heart.org/donations/
5/12/25 UPDATE: Sophie is doing great and all of the puppies are ready to go or already in their forever homes! Thank you to our 4 Paws 1 Heart supporters for helping us make a difference in so many lives!
Sophie Had Her Seven Babies
1/18/25 – It was 11/30/24 when we were contacted about Sophie. She was rescued while on the streets in the freezing rain. Her rescuer, Kelly, estimated her to be about 1 year old. Sophie was seen at our partner veterinary clinic, Five Mile Animal Hospital, Unfortunately, Sophie was pregnant but thankfully, Kelly was willing to make sure Sophie had her babies while in her care and she would foster the family until everyone could be fully vetted and adopted out. We committed to finishing Sophie’s medical when appropriate and making sure the babies were vaccinated and neutered/spayed when of age.
Today, Sophie had her babies!! SEVEN!! Rosie is being a great mom and I’m sure that these photos will melt your hearts on this very soon to be frigid day. – diana
5/9/25. CORALINE WAS FOUND IN A CAR ENGINE – Her mommy sent me this update today. Here is the story and her remarkable recovery.
Here’s Coraline’s story…
My husband found her in a 7-11 parking lot on 12/21/24. It was freezing cold out and raining. We took her to the emergency vet. Her temp was very low, she was wet and dirty, weighing in at 1.5 lbs. She had no use of her left rear leg.
We brought her to our vet on 12/25. Her x-rays showed that she had non food items in her stomach, such as bones and tiny rocks. Also had multiple fractures in her pelvis and hernia due to the trauma of being injured in a car engine.
Her injuries seemed insurmountable!
4 Paws 1 Heart sent us to Orion Animal Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries, and some testing, which was paid by 4 Paws 1 Heart. They were not comfortable performing her surgery so we went to Wilson’s.
Her fractures seem to have pretty much healed. She has full use of her rear leg! She had surgery to repair her hernia and was spayed.
Today she is just over 5 lbs, and is so playful and cuddly. She is so stinkin’ cute and we absolutely adore her!
5/8/25 Given another chance! Flappy was a stray cat found in bad shape. He was thin, matted, full of fleas, respiratory infection, worms, and he had given in to being captured as a stray. Over the last couple months we were able to get him the medical he needed. Yesterday he was strong and healthy enough for his neuter surgery! Everything went well, but the doctor noticed he had a lot of inflammation around his gums. They started antibiotics but there is a possibility he may need dental extractions in the future from Stomatitis. Flappy recovered well and if his rescuer can not find placement she will give him a forever home.
5/6/25. Meet Orange – This adorable little baby was found trapped underneath someone’s vehicle while they were driving.
He was very fortunate that he did not suffer severe injuries. The doctor examined him and he had trauma to his right hear foot from the hock down there was swelling, an abrasion, and pain but no obvious fractures.
He is doing well and checked out healthy otherwise. We are covering his medical and he can begin his vaccines once he is feeling better. Happy Days and New Beginnings ahead for Orange!
5/5/25 Meet Baby – This was a stray cat that Emily would often feed, and she contacted us for help when she noticed he had an abscess on his face, he was very frail, losing weight, and he was fading fast.
It was clear upon exam from the doctor that Baby was very sick. The hospital started with a feline leukemia/fiv test and a full blood panel right away. There was a systemic infection going on and the wound on his face was oozing pus. At only 6 pounds, skin and bones, loaded with fleas, and very dehydrated Baby wouldn’t have made it much longer. The doctor gave an antibiotic injection, flea prevention, fluids, and deworming.
Once he is strong enough, 4 Paws 1 Heart will cover his neuter and vaccines. The rescuer is keeping him inside and will find him a home. We were fortunate to assist with getting one more homeless cat off the street.
4/28/25 Abigail reached out to us right after she had trapped a neighborhood cat that appeared injured. He was coming around her condo for about 9 months and when he was noticeably hurt, Abigail secured him and took him to emergency. We offered to help by getting him neutered and checked out at Orion Animal Hospital. Abigail just sent me an update with pics letting me know that Kevin is integrating slowly while enjoying his new snuggle nap time spots and putting his head in her hands demanding pets. Kevin is one more kitty fortunate to have a second chance and live in a forever loving home. I love his pink nose and his toe beans!!! New beginnings Kevin!
