Stevie Wonder – RIP – Couldn’t Survive the Surgeries

7/5/21 – My heart breaks to report that Little Stevie Wonder crossed the rainbow bridge on July 3 at 6:20 a.m. in his rescuer’s arms. It was just too much for his little body to have two serious surgeries in over just a few days. He now has sight in both of his eyes and is running around with all of the sweet innocents who passed before him. – Diana

Ariana and Amelia – Update

7/4/21 – Happy Independence Day to our Amazing Supporters!
On this day when we celebrate freedom I want to give a happy update on Ariana and Amelia. They are both doing great as we continue to keep our paws crossed. In fact, Ariana has a furever home lined up when she is medically cleared. She will be trained as a service dog and be the companion for a young boy with autism. – diana

Walter – On His Way to His New Foster Home

7/1/21 – Walter 5:27:21Walter Update..
Today he went to his new foster family. Walter was saved by a very nice man who rescued him from the streets and from a bad situation.
4 paws 1 heart offered to check Walter out medically and he tested positive for Heartworm Disease. He was also emaciated and walked like a crippled old man. The rescuer provided love, kindness, shelter, compassion, and stability for Walter but he had to make a very hard decision to turn him over because his son was allergic. It’s was so hard because Walter was family and truly loved. Foster dad Jay, helped Walter reach the next step of his journey and that is so important. We will make sure he has updates and he can visit any time. Walter has a ways to go until being cleared medically, but we will make sure everything possible is done to give him the 2nd chance he so deserves.. ♡

Ariana and Amelia – Siblings to Jasmine – Dropped Off in a Box at the Rescuer’s Door

7/1/21 – More prayers!! This is Ariana (white) and Amelia (brindle). They were left in a box at the door of the good Samaritan who rescued the puppy suffering with Parvo who is with Gina at the vet hospital. It appears there were actually 4 puppies in the litter. Our friend had originally rescued two behind a Burger King. Unfortunately one died during the night and by the next day we were able to get the other into the hospital. It appears that the woman who had the mama found out who rescued the two and the other night dropped off two more puppies at the person’s home. She left a note, rang the doorbell, and ran. Both puppies had white gums and were lethargic but did not appear to be in as serious condition as the two others (one of whom died). They were seen last night by one of our partner vets and they were given the parvo vaccine in hopes that if they have contracted the parvo virus, the vaccine will reduce the severity. Everyone is on call should they take a turn for the worse. The rescuer has fluids and is giving them Pedialyte and high protein food as recommended by the doctor. This morning Ariana and Amelia are doing well and acting more like puppies. diana

Miracle – Drowning in a Drainage Pipe

6/30/21 – The Miracle! This is the face of a man that climbed down into a storm drain to save a stray kitten trapped in the drainage pipe. The little thing was so scared and cold! After our hero got her out (with the help of his fellow employees and the mama), dried and cleaned her up, she cuddled right up to him for heat and comfort.
The beginning: As you can see from the prior post, Brad, our hero, contacted us on June 18 about a mama and 3 kittens who needed our help. The three babies all seemed to have upper respiratory infections and, later, everyone would need to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated. The guys at the shop didn’t want to see the babies lose any eyes as is what happened to Pecan. So plans were made to get the babies examined and treated right away and have everyone taken care of for other medical needs at a later date. The babies got in to one of our partner vets pretty quickly and were treated. Then, on Monday, June 28, when the employees showed up for work, they heard a soft crying. Upon investigating, they found one of the kittens in a drainage pipe.
Brad immediately went into the storm drain trying to reach for the kitten in the pipe. Every time he thought he could grab her, she backed up. The guys decided that maybe if they poured water down the drain, the flow of water would push her out. Well, that seemed to work as she came rushing toward Brad in the flow of water, but at the same time, mama showed up and started meowing. Between the water flowing out and mama calling for her baby, Brad was finally able to grab the baby. Unfortunately, though, while Brad was trying to rescue the baby, her brother, Bow, was seen floating in the water, drowned.
The guys in the shop decided to name the rescued baby Miracle because it was a miracle that they were able to save her. After a night of rest, Miracle was awake and feisty as “all get out”. She ate and drank some water and with a little coaxing allowed her Hero to pet her again. And, the over the top, GOOD NEWS — Little Bow, who had drowned, was to be adopted by the kind-hearted foreman’s son. When the son learned of Bow’s death and Miracle’s amazing rescue, he decided to adopt Miracle and give her a loving and furever home. Miracle was picked up by her new Dad yesterday, June 29. Brad received some videos that he might be able to post here later and the new dad said that Miracle is doing “just fine and will do well in her new home”.
Kudos and Hugs to Brad and his Co-Workers for all that they do for these babies. I’ve often said, you have to love a man who loves cats!!
P.S. Mama will be spayed and vaccinated along with her other surviving baby, Stamper. We will also cover Miracle’s spay, vaccines, and testing when appropriate. And, there is one other illusive cat who the shop gang will be trying to get so we can give him what will be needed medically. And, lastly, the storm drain has been appropriately secured for the safety of all. – Diana

Mama and Her Babies – Suffering with Upper Respiratory Infections

6/30/21 – On June 23. I posted the following:
I know that all of us, at some time, have lost their faith in human beings. Well, there is an industrial shop in Fraser/Clinton Twp. filled with wonderful employees. A while back one of the employees contacted us about a cat who had a severe eye infection. He contacted us and ‘Pecan’ was seen by one of our partner doctors who determined the eye would need to be removed. Pecan is doing great and found her way into a furever home.
On Friday, June 30, the same employee, Brad, contacted me about another cat who unfortunately had a litter of 3 babies. The three babies seem to have upper respiratory infections and mama is still weaning them. Again, Brad asked if we could help, and because of our supporters, I said “Yes”. The babies are going in this morning to be treated for their possible infections and plans have been made for Mama and the babies to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated when appropriate. The foreman in this shop has made certain that the community of cats have a home and feed the cats daily. A huge Thanks to these wonderful people for caring so much. – diana
Check out our June 30 post for the Miracle Update. – Diana.

Jasmine (Jazzy) – Dumped Behind A Fast Food Restaurant; Dying With Parvo Virus

6/29/21 – 4 paws 1 heart was contacted for urgent help after a good Samaritan found 2 puppies dumped in a field behind a Burger King. One of the puppies passed away overnight, and the other one was hanging on.. A friend of 4 paws 1 heart responded to my plea to transport this little baby to the team at Moore Veterinary Hospital. She is currently hospitalized and receiving aggressive care. Please send positive vibes and prayers that she turns the corner. We highly suspect parvo virus. Gina ♡
