7/27/18 – This mom and kittens were rescued during a TNR (trap/neuter/return) project. An elderly man was caring for the community but no one was getting spayed/neutered. It doesn’t take long to get out of control when you consider that a female can start having babies as early as 4 months old and have three litters a year. TNR (trap/neuter/return) – Curbing the Over Population of Cats
7/25/18 – How are your donations spent? Since our beginning, August, 2010, we have paid $652,000 in medical bills for abandoned, stray, and abused animals. Every day I try to share at least one animal whom we’ve helped. But, sometimes, we are in the position of helping rescuers who are working on large colonies where TNR (trap/neuter/return) has NOT occurred. Consequently, we may not have captured all of the stories and photos. The work of our friend, Debra Berolatti, is a perfect example. In just the past few months, Debra has trapped seven adults who were returned to the colony after spay/neuter/vaccines (cared for by an elderly woman) and 25 kittens who have since been put into foster homes or taken in by our good friends at Ferndale Cat Shelter, again after being spayed/neutered, vaccinated and tested. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for the medical needs of all of these cats and we are gratified that they will never reproduce. ~ diana
Ralph Livingston – Found Emaciated, Hot, Hungry, and With a Large Abscess
7/24/18 – Ralph Livingston was one of those rescued from the streets.
A woman who works at a local pet resort was told to contact us about a very sweet cat who, obviously, found the right person to “rub up to”. He was meowing his head off; very emaciated, hot, hungry, a large abscess on his body, and appearing partially deaf. We were happy to help this very sweet cat who was either an escapee or abandoned. He is on the road to recovery and receiving lots of love and care with his new family. Donations can be made through the donations link on this page or the website 4paws1heart.org. ~ diana
Jasmine – Rescued Having a Severe Upper Respiratory Infection
7/23/18 – This very sweet kitty, Jasmine, was rescued from the streets with an upper respiratory infection. As many of our friends know from following us, these infections, left untreated, will eventually lead to eye removals, if not worse. Tommy and Tammy – Looking for Their Forever Home

These Twinsies are still looking for their forever home together. They are a brother & sister duo….Tammy & Tommy! Sweet sweet kitties they were rescued from a feral colony. They are all ready to go! Simba – After Months of Trying, He Was Finally Caught and Neutered
7/19/18 – The rescuer had been trying to trap two cats since May and finally got Simba. Unfortunately, the other cat was scared off by fireworks so he (Smokey) is still a work in progress. Simba will no longer be responsible for babies and we just pray that his buddy will be trapped soon.
Trish – Allowed to Roam Free — Dehydrated, Fleas, Mites, and Wounds
7/18/17 – The neighborhood knew her, as well as the owners’ dogs, who are also allowed to roam the neighborhood. This very sick cat, Trish, was finally taken off the streets and, with the help of 4 Paws 1 Heart, has been treated for dehydration, fleas, mites and wounds incurred by other animals. She is now in a safe home and will get the love and care she deserves. ~ diana
Izzy and Her Babies – Found in an Abandoned House
7/17/18 – Izzy and her babies. Izzy and her 4 kittens were found in an abandoned house by people who were there to clean the house. Izzy was very malnourished and had an upper respiratory infection. Izzy was taken to the vet and treated for her infections. When ready, Izzy will be spayed and the babies will also be spayed/neutered and vaccinated when they are old enough. Tonight, when you go to bed, please say a little prayer for these many animals who are sick and alone on the streets. ~ diana
Cheddar and Colby – Taken in by Gina and Needing a Forever Home
7/16/18 – Colby (orange and white) was an owner surrender that 4 Paws 1 heart took in. He is in a foster home with Cheddar and I am looking for a more permanent situation for them ( individually). Colby had some trouble with constipation and we have him on medication to try and regulate that. We don’t know if it was an issue of diet or maybe a combination of things. He is about 7 weeks old and super super adorable. Doing great!
Cheddar (mostly orange) might also be a special-needs kitten because she is a bit slower in the developing process. Her vision doesn’t seem that great and she requires closer one-on-one attention. She is eating and drinking fine on her own. She loves to be held and snuggled . I have had her since she was about three days old after she was found as an orphan hanging by her umbilical cord.
