Liam (aka Nino) needs a forever home. Who wouldn’t want this handsome boy in their home forever??? ~ diana

“On June 22, 2013 a fire occurred in a mobile home located in a Chesterfield Township mobile home park. The destroyed home belonged to a woman who was housing seven adult cats and 9 kittens. When the firefighters arrived they found two dead female cats lying on top of their kittens, obviously trying to protect them from the fire. The kittens were all alive but in dire condition. Another adult cat perished in this fire as well. The four adult cats who survived, as well as the nine kittens, were taken to Advanced Animal Emergency Hospital in Clinton Township where they were all treated for smoke inhalation. They were all kept on oxygen overnight and into the next day. Amanda, the hospital manager reached out to Gina of 4 Paws 1 Heart for help in contacting rescues who might be able to take in the animals. Michelle, from A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue, immediately stepped up and went to the hospital. Another call for help was immediately put out to the rescue community. A total of thirteen cats needed to be placed; nine of them kittens who required bottle feeding. Four of the kittens were about 2 weeks old, and the other five kittens were days old and in critical condition. Two of the days-old kittens also had burns and needed to be transported to the Oakland Veterinary Referral Service hospital for more specialized care.
Five rescue organizations came together that day to provide homes and care for theses cats. The rescues are: A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue, Futures for Felines, Feline Friends, Paws For A Cause Feral Cat Rescue, and New Beginnings Animal Rescue. Advanced Animal Emergency Hospital generously donated their services and an “Animal Angel” paid the hospital bill for the two kittens who are now doing well and are with a rescue. All of the animals were surrendered by the owner.
It’s letters like these and the happy stories that keep us going. Thank You, Colleen and Joe. ~ diana
Hello, Gina –
We just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for helping us. Back on January 21, we met you at Harper Woods Vet after hours emergency care. We brought in Moe (a kitty that had been abandoned by our neighbor.) We’d been giving him shelter & food on our porch, but as temps were dropping near zero, we felt the need to find Moe some shelter. We’d called around to several places (shelters, rescues, pet stores, etc) looking for somewhere who could take him, so he wouldn’t be out in the cold. Finally, I called the emergency care clinic & spoke to you. You informed me of the work that you do with 4 Paws 1 Heart. As we were unable to find anywhere else to take him, we decided to bring him into our home. Since we already have 2 cats, we wanted to get him checked out & make sure he was okay before bringing him inside. You checked him out, we took him home, and continued to try to find him a furever home. Well, we did…he’s staying with us! Our other 2 kitties are getting used to him, especially now that his trial period is over & he’s no longer sequestered to his “room.” He’s really just the sweetest kitty!
Thank you again, for all that you do!
Sincerely,
Colleen & Joe
(& Moe!)
UPDATE – “BREEZY”! Here he is thriving better than ever with food all over his face! We sure had a scare and I thought we were going to lose him, but he pulled through and is doing wonderful. As you can c he has a little shirt on tonight and he is eating like a champ! Thank you all for your support and prayers! He is a little miracle baby:) PS. I’m taking applications on him now before he goes to a rescue group, so we can have some potential adopters lined up. If you think you might be the perfect fit then please email me! gina.4paws1heart@gmail.com
Fluffernutter has found herself a forever, loving home.
Graceland, a handsome sweet male, is still looking. Please share and contact his foster mom, Joanne Marie Hoopes of you would like to love this little guy forever. ~ diana
Please share and help these sweet babies find their forever home. Thanks ~ diana
5/31/13 I cannot begin to tell you how heartbroken we are that Sabs just wasn’t strong enough to make it. Although he was eating he just couldn’t keep it within his digestive system. It was not for lack of trying by Gina or by all of you who kept praying and sending positive energy to our little boy. Today Sabrina, who Sabs was named after, was buried and maybe it was just fate that they all meet up together with all of our loved ones who have gone before us. Rest In Peace, Little Sabs – you were much loved and we all so much enjoyed meeting you and holding you just a short week ago. ~ diana
5/30/13 Sabs Update: Thank you all for prayers because it is helping. There has been a tiny amount of improvement this evening. He made it through the day which earlier was unexpected. Everything possible is being tried to help keep this kitten going but the rest is up to him now to respond to treatment. He is eating very tiny amounts at a time and I’m tube feeding him a very high calorie nutritional supplement. We will see how he continues to do on a hourly basis. ~ Gina
