R.I.P. Beloved Emma Snow

May 8, 2013, Our dear Emma had to be humanely euthanized last night to end her misery. Her immune systems was shutting down and there was nothing more that we could do to help her. She was in the arms of her very special foster mom and board member, Cynthia Wojtowycz, and Gina. May she rest in peace – no longer suffering – and running with all of dear friends who have gone before us. ~ diana

Cass Corridor Cat Colony

4 Paws 1 Heart received a call for help from the Cass Corridor Cat Colony group needing emergency help for 3 kittens. Unfortunately, one kitten didn’t make it. Here’s a photo of the two surviving kittens. The kitten wearing a cone will need his eye removed. ~ gina

There are so many cats and kittens on our streets and they get such little attention from the media and others in the community. An article that I recently read quoted a feral colony volunteer as saying there are an estimated 20,000 roaming cats just in Northville alone. We must spay and neuter. ~ diana

A Sweet Boy and Girl Were Dumped

5/2/13  A 4 Paws 1 Heart friend recently contacted us looking for help in placing two cats who had been dumped on her dad’s property. Unfortunately I had to tell her that we are not a rescue and couldn’t help with placement but would be happy to pay for neutering and spaying if she could find them a home. She did and we did. Here’s a photo of the two the day they got fixed. We thank Jessica T. for caring and taking in these sweethearts. ~ diana

Boat Kittens

5/2/13 These three kittens were found on a boat with no mommy around, a Good Samaritan brought them into 4 Paws 1 Heart and we made sure that they were all healthy and prepared to go to good homes.

5/6/13 GOOD NEWS!! All of the little ‘boat’ kittens have found their forever homes. Once again, thank you to the kind person who rescued them and brought them in to be examined and vaccinated. We are confident that these babies will be much loved! ~ diana

Angel and Nino

4/27/13 Here are the photos that I promised of our Angel and our little Nino (or Nina) who at 2 and 1/2 weeks old was found by a good Samaritan without a mom or siblings. He has a respiratory infection like so many of the kittens found on the streets but we know he is in good hands and paws. Angel couldn’t wait to take care of another baby. ~ diana

Kittens Gina is Helping

4/22/13 These are the two kittens that I’ve been advising a lady on how to raise them… She is doing a great job so far! The lady rescued the kittens from outside and called for help with medical care because one of the kittens had an infected eye. We provided treatment along with the other basics needed to give them both a good start. ~ gina

Feral Mom & Five Kittens

4/15/13 Update on Feral Mama: Update on mommy and kittens. They are all doing well and the mom is starting to let me get closer. As the kittens get bigger they may come to me giving the mom more security that she is safe and so are the babies. All five are snuggled in with their mommy in this picture..~ Gina

4/16/13  Feral mom showing baby how to eat:) The mom is still very protective and terrified, but one day at a time… All 5 babies are healthy and doing great. They are starting to show interest in me more and more. I can not touch the mom and I’m very careful getting near the kittens, but if that’s what it takes to gain her trust then so be it:) Gina
