At 28 days old, Simba was adopted to Chrissy and her brother, Matthew. Chrissy has been working overtime to fundraise for Hercules and in the process fell in love with our Simba. Matthew is the Animal Control Officer/Hero who made it his job to save Hercules and get his owner charged with animal cruelty. We are thrilled for Simba, Chrissy, and Matthew.

In Memory of Little Maggie
Little Maggie was one of the Trailer Park Kitties and was being fostered by a local rescue group. She was a little girl and never caught up to size and stamina of her sister. She was unable to keep food in her system and due to all the efforts of many who tried to make this little angel pull through, Maggie just couldn’t thrive on her own and has passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. RIP Little Maggie ! ♥♥♥
She was very loved while she was here on earth and will be missed.
Prince
A very nice family found this badly injured cat in the middle of St. Clair Highway. He is waking up from his procedure. They couldn’t provide the financial care he required. When we were contacted for help it was arranged to have Prince brought in for an exam. He had badly infected bite wounds on the inside of his leg, but no permanent damage. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for diagnostics and treatment so Prince could have a second chance. He is off the street, and in a loving home.
His rescuers fell in love and now we’re happy to report that Prince is now off the streets and in a loving home with lots of love! Gina 5/2/12
Kittens in a Trailer Park
Here’s the story on these little babies — they were found as strays running around a trailer park. The man in the photo said he would keep them for only a few days. One of our favorite Animal Control Officers who was called on this will be picking them up.
One of these kittens has been adopted into a loving home. The other two (Callie[calico] & Maggie[brown tabby]) have gone to A Scooter’s ResQ.
Orange Sibling Kittens
These two cuties were brought to me today from a local animal control officer who has a huge heart for animals. They are about 7 weeks old. 4P1H paid for their initial medical care and they checked out healthy. Tomorrow they will go with a co worker who will hold onto them until they get good forever homes.
Baby Kitten (Simba)
I couldn’t pick which photo to show so here are four. 4 Paws 1 Heart’s name was given to someone who contacted a local vet hospital. They had found a newborn kitten that was in need of hand raising. I offered to pick the kitten up. He is about 1-2 days old and very tiny! So far he is eating great :). He has the biggest toes I’ve ever seen! I’m guessing he weighs about 2.5 oz if that. Tiger May You Rest in Peace
4 Paws 1 Heart received an emergency notification about a cat she had seen while doing TNR. She had seen the cat a couple of times and his health seemed to be worsening. The person who had been feeding the cat refused to let her take in the animal although he was visibly sick. The TNR person said the cat’s mouth had a terrible odor and he wasn’t eating. She finally got the ‘caretaker’ to agree to let her take him into the clinic and 4 paws agreed to help. Upon examination, it was discovered that Tiger had infected tumors in his mouth, he was very dehydrated, and he tested positive for FIV. He was humanely euthanized.
We are thankful to this very caring woman who worked so hard to minimize this poor baby’s suffering by convincing the caretaker to give him up and by contacting 4 Paws 1 Heart for help.
Kittens, Kittens and More Kittens
A woman who had 2 cat moms and kittens and one pregnant female contacted a local vet for help. The vet contacted our Angel of Mercy, Gina.
Gina contacted our very good partner friend, Out On A Limb Cat Rescue, to see if they could help with at least one litter, and, may God bless them, they took in everyone. They are:
Ginger Snap – 3 weeks pregnant; Jynx with 5 black and white kittens; and Ebony with 4 black kittens.
4 Paws 1 Heart paid for all testing and, thankfully, everyone tested negative. Hopefully, everyone will find their furever homes but 4P1H will be there for spaying and neutering when and if needed.

Mr. Tippy
Mr. Tippy had been living outside and being fed by someone. Then, one day he showed up with lameness in his rear leg, and he seemed to be in severe pain. A local friend was contacted who does rescuing; she contacted me to see if 4 Paws 1 Heart could help and, of course, we did. X rays were done on the leg and he was diagnosed with an abscess probably the result of a bite wound. Bite wounds are very painful and they cause infection. He was sedated so the infection could be cleaned out, we tested him for feluk/fiv, vaccinated him, checked for parasites/treated, and neutered him.
Mr. Tippy is doing great and went to a co-worker for fostering and adoption. Good Luck Mr. Tippy!!!
p.s. he got his name because of his white-tipped tail.
