FUNDRAISER – May 3, 2018 Painting With a Twist
3/10/18 – WELCOME with HIBISCUS (on the left) — This is what our participants will be painting at our Painting With A Purpose fundraiser on Thursday, May 3, 2018 (SAVE THE DATE). The event will be at Painting With a Twist at 50336 Schoenherr, Shelby Twp. and will open at 6:30 p.m. On-line sign up will soon be available. You might like to give your mom a special painting, made with love, for Mother’s Day. ~ diana
Lucky – Heart Worm Positive; Found Running the Streets
3/7/18 – Prayers for sweet Lucky. She was found running the streets at just 24 pounds. The white of her coat was actually yellow from lying in urine. She has since gained weight but, unfortunately, she is heart worm positive. She will start her treatment tomorrow, complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. diana
Tazzy – 14 Years Old and Nearly Blind – Found Alone on the Streets
3/5/18 – Tazzy was found all alone on the streets. A 14-year old senior who had a badly infected eye, a staph infection on his skin, and many teeth needing extraction. Tazzy’s owners could not be found and the great people at 313 K9 & Kitty Rescue took him in and contacted us for help. When Tazzy was taken to the vet, a mass was also discovered in his throat. 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for Tazzy’s medical and today he is being much loved in the home of a 90-year old woman and her daughter. I love it when a senior can adopt a senior and they can live out their lives together.
Now that the holidays are behind us, donations have slowed down. Roxie – Rescued from the Streets
2/28/18 – Roxie was found on the city streets by a kind woman who didn’t turn away. She contacted 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue and they asked if we could help — which we did. Roxy was taken to one of our vets where she was spayed, vaccinated, and tested. She is now doing great in a foster home and looking for her forever family Contact 313 if you are interested. Joey, Rachel, Ross, Monica and Phoebe – Puppies Found on the Streets
2/27/18 – Last week I saw this posting about two sets of puppies rescued by 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue. Two are 12 weeks old and the others are 6 weeks old. I contacted the Rescue and offered to pay for them to be seen by a vet and to have the one little guy’s nose examined.
“I don’t even have the words to describe the hurt i feel for these babies that were saved earlier this evening! I want so much to just feed them & give them all the water they can drink, but i know it has to be done slowly. Skin & bones with bloated wormy bellies 🙁 covered in urine & feces. Small abrasions & one looks like his nose may have been broken & healed. They stink like you can’t even imagine. I’m just thankful they’re safe & are now on the greatest journey of their little lives! – Shawn”

4 Paws 1 Heart was honored to have been selected by the members of the “100 Women Who Care – Grosse Pointe Area” for their first quarter charity donation. I am proud to be a member and humbled by their belief in our mission. This is an organization which gives its members a great opportunity to make a quarterly donation to charities who might otherwise go un-noticed in this world of mega charities. If you are interested in becoming a member, your commitment is a meeting 4 times a year and at each meeting you will donate $100 to the charity chosen that evening based on a presentation. Roscoe – Pulled from a Shelter Before Being Euthanized
2/23/18 – Roscoe was rescued from a shelter before being euthanized. Because 4 paws 1 heart was willing to pay for Roscoe’s vetting, he was pulled from the shelter and is now with a rescue looking for his forever home. We are so very thankful to our donors for giving us the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the abandoned and abused. ~ diana
Rocco – Found Running the Streets
2/20/18 – Rocco was found running the streets. The rescuer tried finding an owner but no one came forward to claim him. Rocco was taken to the vet where it was found that he was heart worm positive. Although the initial vet care was covered by the rescuer, she could not afford the heart worm treatment and neutering at a later time. We were happy to make it possible for Rocco to have a second chance and live in a loving home. ~ diana
