Chance – Says a Prayer for All Animals

As Chance, I also pray for the many abandoned and stray defenseless animals. Everyone can make a difference through legislation, donations, fostering, adopting, and prayer.

“Hi God! Its me, Chance. Its almost Easter, and I just want you to know that this year I would like to forgo my usual Easter Basket of treats and catnip peeps. It would be sooo much better if you could have a chat with the Easter Bunny and ask him if in lieu of baskets for all of us, if he could please bring forever homes for all of the homeless animals and kittens & puppies being born outside this time of year. I know its a tall order, but it is the Easter Bunny after all! Well, its time for all of us to have our treats, kisses & cuddles and go for our nitenites. Thanks for listening,
Love Always Chance”chance 4:14:17

Gert – She Ran Into a Moving Car

4/14/17 – This beautiful girl (1-2 years old) was seen running into a moving car. We were contacted to see if we would cover a doctor visit, which we did. She was found to have a bruised lung and is on medication. She must be kept quiet for 2 weeks.  She has been placed on For The Love of Louie in hopes of finding her owner. The rescuer is calling her Gert. 4 Paws 1 Heart will cover her spay and vaccines when she is healthy. UPDATE – The doctor contacted me to tell me that Gert is also heart worm positive!! She is very docile and is still looking for a rescue. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to paying for her heart worm treatment. I have been told that I Heart Dogs may be able to take her in the near future. ~ diana

Winnie – She Kept Breaking Away from Her Abusive Owner

4/3/17 – Winnie kept showing up at the rescuer’s home with a chain around her neck – broken. The homeowner posted on lost and found pages without results. Winnie looked like she had been beaten due to wounds and scars on her head. She also appeared to have been used for breeding. The rescuer held onto Winnie for 3 weeks and was ready to give up when our good friend, Sandra A., found someone who has since become a ‘foster failure. We were contacted and, of course, we paid for Winnie to be spayed, vaccinated, tested, treated for fleas and worms, and have her wounds treated. We are thrilled to see her being loved and happy. ~ dianawinnie -- 4:3:17winnie 4:3:17 --winnie 3:3:17

Lucy – Happy Update – From Being Chained in a Garage to a Loving Home

3/30/17 – Happy Update!!! You might remember that we were contacted in early January about a very sweet dog who was dumped at a paint garage. Lucy, was ‘dumped’ by the owner’s daughter. She left for overseas and didn’t want the dog any more. The owner of the garage was going to offer Lucy for free on Craig’s list or just give her away to one of his customers; she was being kept chained in a bay. Our friend, Wendy, at C.H.A.I.N.E.D., was doing outreach in the area and couldn’t leave her to that fate. We were contacted and we agreed to some ‘simple’ vetting. Well, as is typical with ‘dumped’ dogs, this girl not only needed to be spayed, vaccinated, and tested, but her runny, painful eye is a result of Entropion. I’ve talked about this condition before in that it is very painful and can eventually cause blindness. Thank God for Wendy and her partner who rescued this girl. Lucy had her surgery for the entropion, was spayed and vaccinated (complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart) and now she has been ADOPTED!!! Just before the adoption was finalized, Lucy was again taken to the vet because of some fur loss. It was discovered that Lucy has demodex mange, so we again assisted for the final time before Lucy went on to her forever home. So here she is from living ‘chained in a paint garage’ to the home of a loving family. Your donations can make a difference in the lives of these forgotten, loving animals. Donations can be made through paypal by using the donate link on this page, or by going to our website 4paws1heart.org, or by mail at P.O. Ali (aka Bentley) – Caught in a Recliner at Just Days Old; Happy Update

“Bentley” formerly known as “Ali”, I get to puppy sit my favorite little man this weekend. He has grown into such a handsome boy and he is huge! He was the size of a 1 pound burger when his family abandoned him at only 2 days old. It was a blessing because he wouldn’t have survived without 4 paws 1 heart…. and without your donations. We were able to give him all of the medical care required along with the 24/7 care due to his injuries from the recliner which nearly sliced off his rear leg & 2 of his rear toes off. I am so blessed to have raised him and to have had the proper skills to do so. He is one pup I will never forget. ♡♡♡ Ginaali (aka bentley))) 3:24:17Ali (aka bentley) 3:24:17

Axel – Happy Update in His Forever Home

3/24/17 – Happy Update! You might remember Axel. Axel was chained outside 24/7 suffering from Entropion. Entropion is a condition where the eyelid is turned inward resulting in the eyelashes rubbing against the eye. The condition is not only painful but without surgery, it can result in blindness. Fortunately, Axel was saved by a very kind woman who contacted us for help. Axel had his surgery and today he is doing very well in his new home where he is much loved. Here he is today and when he was first rescued. ~ dianaaxel w:jennifer McMican.3:21:17jpgaxel w:jenniferMcMican

Cooper – May You Rest In Peace

3/23/17 – RIP Sweet Cooper. It was three years ago that you were found tied up and dying from parvo. You were only 8 months old. With love and the help of 4 Paws 1 Heart, you survived but whatever experiences you went through in your early years never left you. You were much loved in your short life but you are now no longer in pain. ~ diana
