4/3/18 – Our Feline Mascot and Superhero, Chance, updated us on Ruby and Bunny’s visit:

“Helloooo Team! So Ruby & Bunny are home, fed and sweetly sleeping. Both girls hearts & lungs sound good. They are both hydrated, neither appears to have any fluid in their tummys or around their lungs. Neither of the girls have any signs of upper respiratory infection. Ruby had a bit of diarrhea this morning, but has since cleared up. Bunny has not pood yet today, but we’re not worried about that for another day or so. Bunny is in better body condition and is stronger then Ruby. They are too tiny for bloodwork or a fecal. Those are the things we do know. Dr. Wilson told mom not to change anything shes doing, she doing everything right. That made mom feel better, but what didn’t make mom feel better is that she had to take the babies out of our bedroom. Since we don’t know for sure what the other babies died from and we don’t know for sure that Ruby & Bunny don’t have anything, we cant take any chances with the Gang. It hurts moms heart to have them in the next room, and not in our room where she can hear every sound. Moms thinking she may need a baby monitor. Anyway, Dr. Wilson told mom everything to watch for and if we need her to just call her, she thinks our girls may need a little extra help. We just have to wait, watch & pray 🙏Thankyou to 4 Paws 1 Heart for being there for our baby girls today. Oops! 2 more things, 1. The umbilical cords fell off today! 2. Per Dr. Wilson the girls will not be going back to mama even if she is caught because we don’t know if she has something that could be passed through her milk or saliva that may have been passed to our sweet babies that died.

4/1/18 – Drumroll please!!!! All the babies have gained weight, and all the babies now have names!!!
First up is Baby Max, he’s up from 3.4 to 3.6.
Next up is our sweet little Calico girl, Baby Ruby. She has the most dramatic gain from 2.9 last night to 3.4 tonight!!! Go Ruby!!!!
Next we have our sweet beautiful grey girl…. Bunny, Bunny is up from 3.5 to 3.9.
Our babies are now 4 days old.
We love you Max, Ruby & Bunny!

4/2/18 – Mama appeared at a caring person’s home with a large open wound on her back. The homeowner took in Mama and cared for her wound which eventually healed after two weeks. Unfortunately, the rescuer could not afford to have Mama seen by a vet and she wasn’t aware of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Although the wound has healed, Mama can no longer use her back legs. Mama was seen on Friday and after blood work and x rays were completed, nothing definitive could be found to determine why she can no longer walk. Although she doesn’t appear to have an infection, she was given antibiotics. The initial infection caused by her wound may have affected her spine. I have been in contact with Dr. Kern of Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation & Therapy for Pets and Mama will be seeing her in the next few weeks. Please say a prayer for this very sweet kitty who is estimated to be about 5-6 years old. ~ diana

4/1/18 – A Happy and Blessed Easter to all of our supporters. On this day of the Resurrection, I am thankful for all of the caring people who have made it possible for over 4,500 animals to be given a second chance at life. At the same time, all of these animals will never reproduce again. To date, we have paid over $615, 000 in medical bills; but, unfortunately, the need never seems to stop. Every day this past week there was a new animal in need — from heart worm to paralysis to amputations.

It truly takes a village and these little babies are a perfect example. Their mom got scared and left them behind; they were only a couple of days old. One of our Board members brought the babies to Chance’s mom who has been syringe/bottle feeding them every two hours while we are still in search of the mom. Two of the babies are thriving but the other two are still fighting. Please say a little Easter prayer for all of the kittens and moms who will be needing us in the coming months. ~ diana

3/29/18 – Jack Frost (aka Blizzard) is looking for his forever home. He was found 3 days before Christmas, starving to death in a garage, unable to access food or water. Gina has been fostering and socializing him since.
Jack would do best in a home with one or two adults who have had cats in the past and at least one other cat whom he could play with. He loves to interact with Gina’s 16 year old cat but she only tolerates him; she doesn’t want to romp around like he does. Jack is still shy when it comes to being picked up but once he’s in your arms he loves attention. He drools, purrs, and hugs you. He so happy. He is approximately 8 months old. He is up-to-date on vaccines and has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV. He does not seem affected by Gina’s dog, however, her dog is cat friendly. If there is another dog in the home, it would be fine as long as the dog is 100% safe around cats. Jack is neutered and ready for his new home! He also loves to play with the feather toy.
