4 Kittens and a 6-Month Old Mom Found in a Dumpster

9/7/14 – When I say it never ends, I mean it!! Our friend, Jo, called last night saying she was called about 5 kittens (about 5 weeks old ?) and a 6-month old (?) found in a dumpster. The person who rescued them from the dumpster said she could only keep them until the shelter opens tomorrow. Thankfully, we have had a couple of 4p1h friends offer to help with fostering and it appears that Penny B. will be helping out until we can find something more permanent. I will report later once everyone is safe and see where we have to go from there. In the mean time here is the photo taken by their rescuer. Our thanks to her for caring! ~ diana

9/10/14 Update – All felines are safe with Penny B. but we are still looking for a foster in that she is already fostering her share of felines.  There was also another 6 month old cat given to the transporter who was not part of the original call.  Please contact Jo Add at [email protected] if you can helpdumpsterjoadd kittenfound in dumpsterwyandotte9:7:14

Supporting our Rescue Friends – Michigan Cat Rescue

9/7/14 – 4 Paws 1 Heart continues to appreciate our great rescue friends and Michigan Cat Rescue is one of them. When we saw this rescue, we knew we had to help. The first little guy shown here will need eye surgery. So many cats and so few resources. Here is their story: ~ diana

“Meet Una and her siblings. These little kittens were rescued from living under a bush. As you can see, the one kitten (we named Una) is missing an eye. She had a raging eye infection when we found her that destroyed one of her eyes. When she is older and more stable she will need eye surgery to remove that damaged tissue in that eye socket.

Please keep Una in your prayers… their momma was found dead in the street so we bottle fed these kittens to save their lives. 3 of them are available for adoption and will be at the next adoption event.” – Michigan Cat Rescue

Without the Generosity of our Supporters – We Couldn’t Save

9/6/14 – Good Morning: The many cats spayed/neutered/vaccinated/tested made possible by our generous donors and attendees at our fundraisers. The stories are too many to tell but thought I would start your day knowing that all of these sweet animals have been saved and will never reproduce again. A couple were returned to their colony but the majority are in the process of finding their forever homes. Thank YOU. ~ diana (8 photos)1937491_820109151354718_6785848697335968198_n 10628292_820108074688159_4456579901343562620_n 10620589_820110521354581_2733814082087129592_n 1904202_820110068021293_2912843273425540810_n

Rocket – He’ll Never Have to Spend another Winter Outdoors

9/5/14 – Meet Rocket (aka Little Guy): We received a call from our Friends at a Ferndale Cat Shelter and an individual who had been caring for this sweet boy while he was outside. He had a wound on his head and was very sweet. 4p1h agreed to pay for his medical treatment, as it turned out he had been already neutered, and now he is loving life with a great family. ~ dianarocketakalittleguy9:4:14 rocketakalittleguyw:daniellfracasa9:4:14

PHOEBE

9/4/14 – PHOEBE – A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart was walking out of the hospital he works at in Detroit. He heard a dog crying and saw a crowd of people gathered. As he approached the crowd he saw a dead puppy who looked like his body had been broken in half and next to him was another dog, crying in distress. Allegedly, the dead puppy was hit by a car but our friend believed otherwise. He immediately took the crying dog and brought her home. 4 Paws 1 Heart took care of her vetting and first round of vaccinations and we will pay for her spaying when she is old enough. She is about 10 – 13 weeks old. Another life saved because of the donations of our friends and the kindness of strangers. Thank You, Scott and Family. ~ diana

More Kittens Without a Mom – Needing Foster Moms

9//4/14 – We Are Not a Rescue — Let me Repeat — We Are Not a Rescue BUT — 4 Paws 1 Heart was once again contacted by someone who was bottle feeding these five kittens and could no longer handle it. I knew that our great friend Denise was ready and able so I contacted her and she agreed to take on this important, life saving effort. We really don’t have a clear understanding of what happened to the mom. We will be looking for a rescue or permanent homes when they are ready. ~ diana
“Sorry for the poor quality pics but heres my 5 new fosters! They are 8 days old, all either black or grey. Unfortunately their mama passed away leaving them orphans. Hard to say girls or boys at this age. They have long hair and they all purr already! They are now under the safety of 4 Paws 1 Heart and they will be taking care of their needs….food, ect. And I will be fostering them. They are beautiful & safe” ~ Dee N.deen****kittens9:4:14 kittensw:dee**9:3:14 kittensw:deen***9:4:14 kittensw:deen9:3:14 kittensw:deen*9:4:14

RUDY – Abandoned by his owners

9/2/14 – Mere words can’t express the disgust I am feeling for so many people who continue to abandon their pets. I truly am sorry if the people lost their jobs or were evicted from their homes but to dump an innocent animal who has lived inside a home, often without claws, is just wrong and there is no good excuse. No food, no water, left hoping (or maybe not) that someone will take up their slack. I can’t imagine the fear and pain these poor innocents go through. Two more have been found – both abandoned when the families moved. This guy was an indoor cat, locked out of his home, and found crying to get into the neighbor’s home. He is about 2 years old, neutered, very sweet, and skinny. Please contact [email protected] if you can help. ~ diana
