A very Happy New Year to everyone from Katiniss Everdeen! She is doing wonderful! Katiniss is in a canine “Good Citizens Class” and she is feeling better after her neck injury. We have a couple potential homes lined up, but we are still accepting applications while in the process. It’s been a very busy Holiday and we wanted Katniss to have some more healing time. Ryker – Returned and Now, Once Again, Needs a Forever Home
This 3 legged cat needs a good home… We need your help sharing this kitty. His name is Ryker and he was attacked by 2 large dogs 1 yr ago.. We covered his medical which involved amputation of his rear leg. He was adopted a year ago into the home of a special needs gentleman. They were both handicapped and needed each other. Unfortunately, the owner had to return Ryker today because he developed serious seizures and could no longer care for himself. We want nothing more to honor the wishes of Bradley by giving Ryker that forever loving home he now so desperately needs. Please email me if u can help. [email protected]
Helping Our Rescue Friends Find Permanent Homes for the Homeless – Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart
Dear Friends, As we approach the new year, we have started two new facebook pages. On the “Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart” page we will highlight those adoptable animals rescued by individual rescuers who we’ve helped in funding medical treatment and who have no other outlet to promote the animals they rescue. Although we are not a ‘rescue organization’, we are committed to helping all abandoned, stray, and abused animals find that forever, loving home.

Our second new facebook page is “4 Paws 1 Heart Fundraising”. On this page you will find all fundraising events as well as ongoing ways you can help support our efforts. We hope these pages will make looking up adoptable animals and other ways to help 4 Paws 1 heart much easier. Snickers – Your Financial Support Makes the Difference
As we come to the end of 2014, please consider making a donation to 4 Paws 1 Heart. Not only is your donation tax deductible but it will enable us to continue our important mission which is to “Reduce the Number of Homeless Animals by Funding Medical Treatment for Abandoned, Abused, and Stray Companion Animals. Without the financial support of our friends, we could never have saved Snickers or the over 1,500 other animals we have helped in some way. Although the final numbers have not been tallied, in just this year alone, 4p1h has paid nearly $85,000 in medical bills. We pray the need would stop but as long as these animals need us, we pray that our supporters will continue to be there for us.
The story of Snickers could not have happened without a village of people. From young Joey who heard his cries as the six-week old kitten lay in an icy puddle in an alley in Hamtramck, MI, to his mom who put out a call for help on Craig’s list, to our friend, Joanne Marie Hoopes, who picked him up and brought him to Gina, to the great doctor at the Veterinary Vision of Rochester who treated our boy and saved his eyes, to our great friends Dee and Rick who adopted him. ~ diana

Kittens Helped By 4 Paws 1 Heart Need a Forever Home
12/30/14 – These boys were all rescued from under Bill’s pool deck in St. Clair Shores, MI. He brought them all in and has kept them safely sheltered and fed until he felt they were old enough to be neutered. Of course, we agreed to pay for neutering, vaccinating and testing and they are now 6 months old and looking for their forever homes. Tobias and His Buddy Tank

“It’s been a busy week around here celebrating Christmas with our loved ones… Tobias was a hit and loved by everyone!!! As seen here, we did learn that he (and Tank) are both terrified by “daddy’s” remote control helicopter and instantly clung to me for comfort!” ~ Jessica

Many pet owners come to us needing help with their pets. Unfortunately, we can only afford to assist with abandoned animals. But one of our Board members recently saw this and I wanted to share it. Blitzen is Ready to Leave the Hospital
Blitzen, a female kitten, was found injured and limping almost 3 weeks ago, wandering in a parking lot when we were contacted for help. The photos of her paw injury were to graphic to post, but she is doing better every day. She only weighs 3 pounds, and her paw was swollen and badly infected. Our doctor felt it was best to wait and see how her paw healed over time. Her bandages are now off and even though she is still hospitalized, she is ready to spend the rest of her recovery time in a home. If you are interested in giving this sweet baby a home, or even just foster her, please contact Gina at [email protected]. 4 Paws 1 Heart will continue to pay for her paw until it is healthy. We estimate her to be about 3 months old.
Katniss Everdeen – Moving Forward
