In A Hoarding Environment, The Easiest Part Might Be the Rescue

10685599_913954715303494_2219526460196290741_n2/26/15 ALERT – Please understand that the kittens removed from the ‘home’ will not be up for adoption for a while. They not only have to get older but they also need time to recover. One mom’s milk had dried up so the kittens who had been relying on her for food and nutrients were not fed and are therefore very small for their age (7 ounces) and in crisis mode. Future 4 Felines asks that you not submit applications or inquiries about the kittens until they have posted their availability on their facebook page. We want to help F4F focus on recovery and not having to take time to respond to e-mails or phone inquiries. Thank You for understanding. This is another kitten who I failed to include last night. ~ diana

Hoarder Home – Warren, Michigan

2/26/15 – The woman responsible for the horrific hoarding situation has a public facebook page for anyone to read. I would invite you to visit it. On it she says that she would like to tell her side of the story and that all of the cats and kittens were healthy and pampered. Well, one has already died, one that was slammed into a carrier has had a serious seizure, and here are some photos of the kittens and cats taken in by Futures 4 Felines after A Hopeful Heart rescued them. Maybe I’m crazy but these photos don’t seem to depict healthy, pampered pets. We did receive a request for help from Futures 4 Felines because of the serious health issues of many of those they took in and, of course, we will be helping with them also. This situation needs to be seriously addressed by the authorities. Whatever the mental health of those involved, no animal should ever live in the horrific conditions they lived in which resulted in such serious issues. After viewing the page, I’m sure you will agree that it does not take a mental health professional to tell you that once all of these cats are gone, more will, unfortunately, take their place. ~ diana

Izzy – Loving Life But Still Needing His Forever Home

2/26/15 – Good Morning Sweetness – Our boy Izzy with his best buddy. Just think, less than a month ago, Izzy was close to death, freezing under a deck with eyes so crusted, the rescuer thought he was missing his eye. If you haven’t followed his success story, check out our website and you won’t believe that this is the same cat. I just ask you this — is your heart melting yet???? ~ diana11029491_913423405356625_4474433192055364583_n

Treasure – So Many Years of Abuse But Now She is Loved and Treasured

2/25/15 – Good Evening Update – Many of our friends may not remember our girl Treasure. She was used to have babies and then dumped when she was no longer needed. Gina placed her with an unnamed rescue but life didn’t go well for our girl. When we found out, Treasure was placed with a foster up north. The foster family has been absolutely wonderful, loving, and patient as our girl continues to thrive. We so much appreciate getting updates forf those we’ve helped! -diana

“Treasure is loving the newest member to our family, my grandson. It’s really amazing to watch her with him. I’m certain she believes he is a hairless puppy. She is so attentive, and gentle, which she sometimes has what I call “bull in the China shop syndrome,” so being gentle is a concentrated effort on her part. She is happy and healthy–and we couldn’t love her more. Just wanted you to know. Take care.”

Here’s the scoop: They’ve put together items from their inventory, their brand new “This Earth Was Made for All Beings” design and $10 from each purchase of these items will be donated to 4 Paws 1 Heart to help Savannah. Check out the link below to read Savannah’s story and view their great products. If you choose to purchase anything, please comment below! I know I will be buying a shirt. ~ diana

“I Need Help” Over 30 Cats/Kittens in One Home in a Hoarder’s Home in Warren, MI

2/23/15 – The many ways your donations are spent. I was contacted late last week about a situation where a home was “overrun with cats”. I spoke with the person looking for help and was told that an animal control officer had just advised him that a complaint had been received and that something needed to be done with the cats. In our conversation I learned that there were at least 30+ cats. I contacted A Hopeful Heart Animal Rescue and with the 4 Paws 1 Heart’s commitment to pay for the medical bills, it was decided to take a planned approach to rescuing the cats and working behind the scenes to find rescue groups who could assist by taking in some of the cats. On Friday, ten cats and eleven two-week old kittens were removed from the house. Today fourteen cats were removed. Nearly all of the cats had some level of health issues; some worse than others. There are still more cats who need to be rescued and besides continuing the effort to get those cats out of harms ways, the next critical step will be to trap many of the ferals who are going in and out of the house and getting them neutered/spayed. If anyone is interested in fostering, please contact Melanie at [email protected] or contact her on the facebook page of A Hopeful Heart. I respectfully ask that judgement not be made and that we just focus on saving the cats and, hopefully, assisting the family in getting help for their issues. Donations are very much appreciated and can be made on the ‘donate’ link on this page or by mailing a check to 4 Paws 1 Heart P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. Here are some photos of some of the babies rescued. ~ diana (P.S. I want to thank the rescues who have already stepped up to take in some of the animals. I will let you know more as we go along).10995363_912232468809052_138986754975118648_n 17815_912233755475590_1598996736244949224_n 10998366_912237385475227_4579157477420901732_n 10456104_912232835475682_5277296846003978739_n 10426182_912234235475542_7273507762630444331_n 10168073_912235085475457_4109249902705063018_n 960301_912233442142288_5512590678684307158_n 11021119_912236695475296_2284759277589698014_n
