Two Babies Remain from the Baseball Eight

8/10/15 – The remaining babies from the Baseball 8. If you will remember, 8 kittens still with their umbilical cords attached were find in a box that was placed in a pick-up truck during a baseball game. The eight were split up between two foster moms and over the weeks, all but two died. Each foster mom had one baby left so Tami took in the other remaining sibling and look at them know. Absolutely beautiful. ~ dianaTwoofthebaseballeight8:8:15

Lottie – Burned While Trapped Under the Hood of a Vehicle

8/10/15 – Meet Lottie. She was trapped under the hood of a car when the engine was started; she was severely burned. Lottie was rescued by an animal control officer who contacted Tigerlily Cat Rescue. Although her burns are severe, the veterinarian strongly believes she will recover and live a good life. Tigerlily contacted us and we were happy to help with Lottie’s medical bills. She will be in the hospital for a bit, so please keep her in your prayers. ~ dianalottiew:tigerlily8:10:15

Wicket – The Tailless Manx (Update)

8/9/15 – Here is an updated photo of the tailless baby rescued last week. He is not out of the woods because there can be issues with tailless cats as it pertains to their ability to defecate healthily. This little guy was taken, again, to the vet on Saturday because of this. He does have some interested potential adopters visiting him next week. He will either grow out of the problem or quality of life will have to be considered. So, for all of our tailless kitties, please say a prayer that their conditions will be fleeting. ~ dianaWicket 8:9:15

8/9/15 – Meet Cookie. We received a call from a friend of 4p1h and was told that she came across Cookie around 2 weeks ago. Cookie is about 7 months old and is FIV and leukemia free. She has had a round of shots and dewormer. 4 Paws 1 Heart will pay for her spaying and her second round of vaccines before she is adopted. She seems to have been beaten up and still has a small wound on her neck that is healing and one small one by her left eye, she did receive a round of antibiotics for it. She is extremely playful and loves being around people she is pretty comfortable around dogs but is still really nervous around other cats. Cookie does need a forever home, so if you are interested, please contact her rescuer, Carol, at [email protected] ~ diananino8:9:15

Nautical Tails

8/5/15 – As a result of the St. Clair Shores (MI) Animal Care and Welfare Committee working with the Communications Department, Nautical Tails was created. It is a segment aired during the St. Clair Shores Local Matters program. Nautical Tails focuses on the many issues involving animals in our community. In this segment, our two committee members, Liz Nicosia and Rick Gudenau (husband of our Board member, Dee) talk about maintaining a cat community. I know that many of our friends care for cat colonies and I thought you might like to see this. ~ diana https://vimeo.com/135256279
