Missy – She Lost an Eye After Having Been Hit By a Car

2/4/16 – Happy Beginnings – Some of you may remember Missy. She was brought into the emergency in February, 2013 after having been hit by a car. Her jaw was broken and her eye had popped out. Fortunately, Gina was there and 4 Paws 1 Heart agreed to take on the medical treatment. After several weeks in recovery, our good friends at NBS Animal Rescue took her in and today Missy is in her forever home. This is Missy when she first came into the emergency and, now, in her forever home. It truly takes a village. ~ diana

Anyone interested in adopting this sweetheart after she has had a chance to decompress, should contact Andrea at [email protected]. Andrea is committed to finding a forever, loving home. ~ diana

Carlos – He Could Have Died After a Burst Tumor

2/2/16 – Only through your donations can we make miracles happen. Meet our latest miracle, Carlos.

This is Mr. CarlosCarlos2:2:16Although we didn’t know much at the time we got involved, this very sweet boy had some real challenges. We don’t want to go into too much detail because of the manner in which 4 Paws 1 Heart became his savior but let me just say, the hospital staff fell in love with him and we had to give him a chance. The information we eventually received indicated that when Carlos was a kitten, he had a tumor that needed removal and it resulted in most of his tail being amputated. Fast forward 5 to 6 years later, and once again, a tumor developed and went unnoticed until it burst. At that point, Mr. C was very much in danger and, once again, needed almost immediate surgery. After three days of being held in a hospital waiting while money could be raised for his operation, we were called in to help. On the fourth day, Carlos’ burst tumor was removed and the remaining stump of his tail was amputated. He went to a great foster home the next day for recovery. Thankfully, his foster mom has had a great deal of experience with recovering animals and within a couple of days noticed that Carlos was not moving his bowels. Carlos again had to be returned to the hospital where it was determined that he was blocked. Again, a very dangerous situation for a little guy which resulted in another overnight stay in the hospital. Carlos  is now doing well. He is warming up to the foster house and is starting to heal. We still do not know anything about the tumor but we should get results this week. Once again, it was the work and donations of a village which saved this sweet guy’s life. He will one day need a forever home who can make sure he will never be in this position again. Remember, when you take on the responsibility of a life, it comes with a commitment to provide food, shelter, love, and medical treatment. ~ diana

Hope – Rescued from a Barn with 50+Cats

1/30/16 – Please pray for Hope. A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart rescued her and at the time, we prayed she would make it for a few days. We asked for your prayers, and our little girl has continued to fight the fight. She had a very severe upper respiratory which will result in losing an eye but she hasn’t been able to have the operation because her upper respiratory infection has been so stubborn. She was very emaciated, which didn’t help, when she was rescued. Here is an update on this sweet baby who will eventually need her forever home when she is well. Thank You to Debbie N. and Missy G. for rescuing and taking care of her. ~ diana
“Some of you may have heard of Hope it’s not pretty. But her eye had to be surgically opened. Hoping now afterthey cleaned up, these antibiotics and eye drops will clear her up. Then she will be ready for her spay and if needed her eye removed/closed. Prayers for her though. She has been through many rounds of antibiotics. She was too weezy for anesthesia to spay and remove or close her eye today but she needed to have her eye cleaned out of any infection in her eye and allowed to seep. She will be checked back out in a week. Warm compresses every few hours and eye drops and antibiotics. She is just the sweetest little thing you wouldn’t know she had to be in miserable pain from her sweet demeanor. Just another reminder on how much compassion and love animals can show.- Missy”
