Emily Rose and Pinky – Left Behind When Their Owner Died
2/24/16 – This is Emily Rose and Pinky. Their owner died and the family wants them GONE!!!. Fortunately, our friend Jo A. found a foster and they are now safe. Their medical vetting will be taken care of by 4 Paws 1 Heart. At this time we don’t know if they were spayed, vaccinated, etc., if not, they will be now. I don’t really understand how families can be so heartless toward pets their loved ones once cared for. Please have this discussion with your elderly parents, aunts/uncles, etc. who have pets. Make arrangements so that they do not wind up outside fending for themselves or taken to a shelter to be euthanized. Anyone interested in giving them a forever home should contact Jo at [email protected] ~ diana
Finn and Ruby – Updates
2/23/16 – An Update on Finn and Ruby: We were contacted by Heather with the following story:
“On Christmas Eve my friend and I were on our way to deliver Xmas cookies to the homeless. We noticed while exiting the freeway two dogs running past us towards the freeway. We immediately got out and were running after these dogs on the shoulder of the freeway to save them from getting hit. We put them in our car once caught and now they are at my residence in Clinton Twp. They are isolated as there is no way they are up to date on anything and looks like they were just used in someone’s backyard for breeding. The female is plump but had fleas and burrs matted in her hair. The male is in bad shape as you can feel every one in his hips and he walks with a hitch as I think he may have bad hips? He’s skinny and has burrs matted in his hair. They appear to be older like between 7-10? They are currently still in my basement in a kennel and we take them out every few hours but they need vet care. My guess is they most likely have worms and heart worms.
My friend and I are willing to foster them until a rescue can take them on. It’s not ideal as we both have our own animals but we can’t see them get euthanized. Every place I’ve Called is full. It’s been almost a week now so I need a plan as to how to get these animals healthy. ~ Heather”
4 Paws 1 Heart worked with Precious Pets to take care of medical treatment for Ruby and Finn which included treatment for heart worm. Finn is now ready to be adopted but Ruby is pregnant. Anyone interested in Finn should contact Heather at [email protected]
Marmalade – Once a Pet, Suffered on the Cold Streets Alone
2/24/16 – Meet Marmalade. We were contacted by her rescuer, Jeanine D. who needed our financial help. Here’s her message:
“I rescued a cat from the cold yesterday who had severe hypothermia. I took him to a vet and he made it through the night, but will need more medical care to recover. Feral Kitty Trappers is taking him on, but could desperately use some financial assistance for his vet bills – he will have to stay there for a few more nights as he continues to recover. Could 4 PAWS 1 HEART help with any of his vet bills? He was near death when we got to him and another cat had already frozen to death – both most likely dumped, not ferals. Crafty Cat is going to take him on for adoption as soon as he is well, so getting him well is the only hurdle we have. His name is Marmalade. – Jeanine”
Of course, we helped and Marmalade is doing well. Please realize that cats who have been pets cannot survive on the streets; they don’t have the skills or the stamina of the ferals. In the below freezing temperatures, these cats and kittens will freeze and die a horrible death. It is up to us to protect the innocents. ~ diana
Butch – Hit By a Car and Needing Leg Surgery
2/23/16 – Butch was rescued by Dr Graves. She paid for more than half of his surgery and 4 paws 1 heart helped assist in the rest.. He needed an orthopedic specialist to fix the fractures in his leg. He spent his recovery with Dr. Graves until she found him the perfect home….and I mean perfect! This is his new mommy and as you can see they are a match made in heaven. ♡ No more neglect and no more pain. He is under 1 year old and we wish them all the best on their new journey. ♡ ~ gina

2/23/16 – More kittens saved by Roberta and medically treated with funds from 4 Paws 1 Heart. All of these kittens had upper respiratory infections as well as eye infections. Left untreated, these helpless babies would have, at best, be blind and at the worst died from an eye rupturing. Anyone interested in adopting these sweeties should contact Roberta at: [email protected]
