ANGEL AND MIA

7/29/21 – Angel and Mia were both rescued in March during the still bitter Michigan weather. Angel was pregnant and had an upper respiratory and Mia also was sick. We were happy to help then and advised that when everyone was ready and the babies were born and weaned we would help again. Well, Angel had 4 kittens and both Angel and Mia have recovered from their infections. In a few weeks it will be time for everyone to get their tests, vaccines, and spays/neuters so they can be adopted. I – diana4paws1heart.org/donations/

TINKERBELL – Kept on a Chain 24/7 and Pregnant

7/28/21 – When she was found she wouldn’t come out of the finder’s truck. The finder spent the night in the truck with her. Tinkerbell had spent her life in a cage. The finder/rescuer found what she thought were great fosters who were also interested in adopting. The finder reported that she conducted a thorough investigation of the potential adopters which included a home check and a check-up with the couple’s veterinary hospital. All seemed perfect, so there was an agreement to foster then adopt if all went well. The couple also agreed too have Tinkerbell spayed after she had her first heat. During a follow up visit, the finder learned that the couple had been keeping Tinkerbell on a leash 24/7 and never took care of having her spayed. Tinkerbell, who is now pregnant, missing fur all over her body, and having a possible urinary tract infection was surrendered back to the finder. Tinkerbell is now safe again but frightened. She has an appointment to get her medical needs treated as well as an ultra sound to determine her pregnancy status. I went into detail with this case because I feel it’s a cautionary tale that I believe everyone who has adopted out an animal has faced. Sometimes, we just don’t know the depth of inhumanity or ignorance of humans and no matter how hard one tries to make sure that animal or child is going into a good home, it is never a sure thing. We are all praying for Tinkerbell that she can get healthy, have her babies without problems, and some day truly find a home that will treat her as she deserves. – diana4paws1heart.org/donations/

SASHA – HAPPY UPDATE

7/27/21- Happy Update – Sasha was rescued after being kept in a basement for 5 years. She never saw the light of day. At first she was wary never having seen the outside in the five years of her life. Now she is living the dream and can’t stay away from the window, checking out the birds and other wildlife. Thank you to our friend Jo A. This is Sasha now and when she was rescued in May. – diana4paws1heart.org/donations/

CHIP – His Cries Were Heard From a Work Truck Engine

7/27/21 – While all of the memorials are sad we have to take heart that there are more orphans being saved than not. This is Chip. A friend of Jo A. (a long-time friend of 4p1h) works at Motorcity Casino and heard cries coming from one of the work trucks. The cries were coming from the area of the engine. The friend was finally able to get him. Jo tells us he is a little sweetie. Her friend said there are 2 or 3 more babies and a mom that she is going to try and get this week. Chip was so dirty when he was rescued but Jo gave him a bath and he is looking quite handsome. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be taking care of Chip’s medical needs as well his siblings and mom if and when they are rescued. – Diana4paws1heart.org/donations/

JUJU & DINO – Rest In Peace

HENRY – Rest In Peace

7/27/21 – RIP Henry. A rescue friend of 4p1h, who had also rescued Hugh, was contacted by a woman who was caring for a stray who would come to her home. He was a neutered, polydactyl who, as you can see from a photo taken in May, appeared to be healthy. But the caretaker started to see a decline and by the time she contacted our friend, his face appeared sunken in and he appeared to have no body muscle. Our friend contacted us and he was taken to a partner vet. Henry was examined and blood work was performed. The doctor said he was stable but was “showing signs of an infection”. Henry was given antibiotics and send home. Two days later, his foster reported that he died. We don’t know why but we do know that he is no longer suffering

HUGH – Rest In Peace

7/27/21 – RIP Hugh – He was found on the street last Friday. He was very lethargic and couldn’t move his back legs. He was seen the same evening and x rays and blood work were performed. Hugh’s body temperature was very very low and the doctor believed he was going into organ failure. The doctor and his rescuer let him cross the Rainbow Bridge in peace and love. – diana4paws1heart.org/donations/
