8/21/15 – Meet Frankie – This handsome, very sweet boy just wandered onto a porch one day. It appeared he had been on the streets for awhile. He had no identification and no one in the neighborhood seemed to be looking for him. The man living in the home fell in love with him and asked for our help in getting him to a vet. Well, at his first visit to the vet he got the usual vaccinations and flea treatment and the pre-exam for neutering. On the day he was to be neutered it was determined that his testicles had not descended and that surgery would be required. His surgery is now being scheduled through Gina and we will let you know how it goes. Frankie is one of four expensive cases we have coming up. Daisy will need her eye removed; Max will be receiving heart worm treatment (story to follow), and Felicia will be having a leg amputated next week (story to follow. Donations have been very slow so anything you can spare will be much appreciated because the day-to-day requests never stop. Thanks!! diana

Somerset, Gino, and a New Baby Kitten
8/16/15 4 Paws 1 Heart has taken in 3 more animals recently. This baby (Somerset) that is oh soooo tiny is one of them. Here is our good friend Alicia giving the baby love and snuggle time. This puppy is about 2-3 weeks old.
We also took in this baby kitten about 6 weeks old. She was found last night, and then the Maltese puppy (Gino) from a few days back is doing GREAT.
4paws1heart couldn’t do this without your help. Medical care is expensive and we are always swamped with requests for help. If you can find it in your heart to donate we would truly appreciate it. To make a donation please visit our website www.4paws1heart.org and click on the donate tab. Thank you so very much! Gina
Kittens – Please Promote Spaying and Neutering!
8/14/15 – We were happy to help get more kittens off the street. Although they are about 8 weeks old. they are underweight because mom may have been unable to feed them properly. Unfortunately, one of the four did not survive but the others were recently examined and everyone is doing fine. When they weigh enough, they will all be neutered/spayed. Thank You, Teresa N. for not turning your back on these babies. ~ diana

Katniss the Kitten – May You Rest In Peace
8/12/15 – Some sad news this morning from our friend Missy, who rescued little Katniss, the kitten, after she allegedly fell from a roof and was hit by a car. RIP Sweet Baby, at least you knew love and not cruelty in the end. ~ diana
“Now that I have spoken to Diana and Sandra I am going to update on sweet little katniss. I cannot be certain if was trauma related or not. A few nights ago katniss started to open her mouth like she was having trouble breathing or panting. Within minutes she was seizing and stopped breathing. I was warned she had potential neurological damage and may not make it or may need put down. She was so very sweet and would watch us from across the room. While I am happy to have gotten to meet her and love her and show her that people do love her I am very upset that she did not make it to go to that forever home and see what a real family is like. RIP katniss I am sure you are running and jumping and enjoying being able to run, jump, and play. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I will never forget the way she would watch me when I talked to her, or push herself up to see me, and push up to be right under my chin every time she slept with me. She was so sweet even after whatever it was happened to her.” Missy

Kitten with a Botfly
8/11/15 – I can’t tell you how thankful we are for our great rescue friends. Especially, Melanie of Hopeful Heart Rescue. We were contacted by a friend of 4p1h who rescued 4 kittens. We were all ready to get them vetted only to learn that one little baby had what appeared to be a wound. Melanie immediately took in the kittens and brought this little guy to her vet where this disgusting botfly was removed. A big thanks to the rescuer and to Hopeful Heart Rescue. ~ diana
Two Babies Remain from the Baseball Eight
8/10/15 – The remaining babies from the Baseball 8. If you will remember, 8 kittens still with their umbilical cords attached were find in a box that was placed in a pick-up truck during a baseball game. The eight were split up between two foster moms and over the weeks, all but two died. Each foster mom had one baby left so Tami took in the other remaining sibling and look at them know. Absolutely beautiful. ~ diana
Lottie – Burned While Trapped Under the Hood of a Vehicle
8/10/15 – Meet Lottie. She was trapped under the hood of a car when the engine was started; she was severely burned. Lottie was rescued by an animal control officer who contacted Tigerlily Cat Rescue. Although her burns are severe, the veterinarian strongly believes she will recover and live a good life. Tigerlily contacted us and we were happy to help with Lottie’s medical bills. She will be in the hospital for a bit, so please keep her in your prayers. ~ diana
