Rusty

“This little guy was found walking in the middle of the road.  He had a sore on his body, a mass on his abdomen, very unkempt and intact.  A friend of 4P1H, Nicole, contacted us and asked if we could help get this little guy get examined and neutered.  She had been trying to find his owner but without success.  Although she could take care of his future needs, Nicole needed a little help for his current state.  4P1H is all about funding medical treatment for abandoned animals and Rusty sure seemed to fit this description.  It seemed obvious to me that even if he had owners, that had obviously neglected him.  Normally, we would pay or help pay for the medical bills then ask one of our Rescue friends to take him on, BUT in this case, we had a win/win.  We were able to get our little guy examined (negative on heartworm) and vaccinated and he will be neutered and his hernia will be repaired next month.  And, even better, he has a new loving furever home with Nicole and her children and fur family. ~ diana

Tiny Little Itsey Bitsey

This poor little girl was found all alone on the side of the road, no siblings and no mommy. She has multiple health issues… Malnourished, skinny, eye problems, infected wounds, and deformed hind leg, and a hernia. She is so tiny and sweet, we will bottle feed her and get her all the vet care she needs.

“4P1H was happy to help Itsey and the wonderful women of Dog Aide 2012 with medical bills for this little girl.” ~ diana

Sweetpea is Fighting for her Life

Sweetpea is fighting for her life, she has been diagnosed with Babesiosis Gibsoni. This is a horrible disease transmitted by ticks (she was on topical flea/tick preventative). This disease destroys red blood cells and causes severe anemia and for many dogs, death. Treatment to control this disease has been started, but a blood transfusion is her best hope for survival since she’s lost so much blood. We’ve spent thousands of dollars to save her mother Gretchen and to care for Gretchen’s seven pups (Sweetpea’s brothers and sisters). We are financially and emotionally exhausted.

Without financial help to pay for a transfusion, Sweetpea’s outcome is very grim. We’ve applied for emergency grants but they will likely not be considered or awarded in time. Without your help all we can offer Sweetpea is medication and supportive care – this likely won’t be enough. Please, please help us save Sweetpea.

4P1H was very happy to be able to help Sweetpea and Animal Advocates of Michigan with some medical dollars and prayers! ~ diana

Hercules Sleep Over -June 9, 2012

Hercules Update: Hercules had a sleep-over last night with two Boxer friends and their parents. He is going for another hydro-therapy session this morning and then will be going off with Dr. Kern, a veterinary rehabilitation specialist, to stay with her and her husband for a couple of weeks. Hercules will be going through extensive physical therapy with Dr. Kern while still having his laser and hydro therapy sessions. We will keep everyone posted!!

Hercules Update – June 6, 2012

Hercules Update – Well, our little boy continues to get stronger and bigger. He had his third hydro-therapy session yesterday and did very well (as usual). He had his first laser therapy today at Harper Woods Veterinary Hospital and is doing well. He continues to be the star having people stop in to visit him whenever he is at the Vet’s. More information and photos to follow. ~ diana, June 6

Neglected Dog – Dog Aide

I wish we could have done something more than just pay for euthanasia but at least she is no longer suffering. Be With God ~ diana

About an hour ago Dog Aide received a call for help from a woman who has been feeding this dog for a year now. The dog was owned but neglected. Today the she found the dog laying on the ground, not moving, not eating or drinking. She rushed it to an emergency vet, only to find out the dog was dehydrated, had a horrible case of mastitis, was septic and was already in the process of dying. The ER vet did the best thing they could do, which was humanly euthanize the poor dog. Because the woman who brought the dog in hadn’t much money, 4 Paws 1 Heart was able to cover the cost. If anyone is able to donate to 4 Paws 1 Heart, please do. They do amazing work and are also in need of funds. Thank you everyone. -Santa

Pepito – Dog Aide 2012

4P1H is happy that we can continue to help save God’s forgotten and abandoned through our partner rescue groups. We are happy to help with medical bills for Dog Aide 2012 – Community Awareness. They do so much to help the homeless and those who are in families who can’t afford to feed themselves let alone their pets. They are on the streets educating and working to make a difference. ~ diana

Orphan Puppies

This puppy is one of 6 who has survived (so far).  The mom’s chain broke and she got hit by a car leaving 8 puppies on their own.  Two have since died and this little guy is critical.  We are hoping that our dollars help. Please word appropriately.

“4P1H is happy to be helping our friends at Loveabull Paws Rescue with these poor orphans’ medical bills. One thing we know for sure is that they couldn’t be in better hands. May God be with them. ~ diana”

Hercules Hydrotherapy Session

“Just wanted to give a quick report on Hercules’ hydrotherapy session at 4Paws Health & Wellness. It went great!! Lori Jobak was wonderful with our little guy and he took to the water quickly — paddling a way. He was even using his back legs to swim which Lori said is a good thing. We signed up for 13 lessons and Lori has been very generous in taking on our little rescue. Gina will be getting into the pool with him for future sessions. Please check out 4Paws Health & Wellness as well as Bark A Bout. We’ll be posting photo’s and video’s later. ~ diana”
