Jenny – Shot in the Leg, Emaciated, and Covered with Scars

5/22/17 – Please pray for Jenny. We recently received the following message from Bully Love Rescue asking if we could help.
“Jenny had been seen roaming the streets for about a week before a good Samaritan was able to lure her into their home the night of May 11. She’s been shot in her back left leg, she’s emaciated, has a severe skin infection, and is covered with scars. Jenny’s upper canines are broken down to the gum line and several of the smaller teeth are gone; her gum on the left upper side is even worn way down and, to top it off she’s heart-worm positive. It was initially believed that she was a senior but she’s only 1 or 2 years old. Jenny is a very loving girl that simply wants to lean on you and be loved on. She was brought to me on May 12th and is currently being treated with antibiotics. Unfortunately, Jenny’s broken teeth are starting to abscess but nothing can be done until heart worm treatment is completed. Consequently, the veterinarian has recommended that Jenny’s pre-heart worm treatment be cut short by two weeks.”

4 Paws 1 Heart is paying for Jenny’s heart worm treatment in hopes that she can soon be on the road to recovery. It breaks our heart to think of what this poor animal has experienced in her very short life and just pray with all of you that she can be healthy and loved for once in her life. ~ dianajenny w:terissa kerr 5:17:17

Tobi – In His Forever Home

5/19/17 – Tobi Update! Remember the pup that we recently helped that needed his leg amputated? Well here he is thriving very well with his new furry friends. What’s even better is he will be living with Bruno!
Bruno was one of the pups from the litter of 5 that I hand-raised last year. (See the story of the Shih Tzu Five on our website, 4paws1heart.org) I’m so happy we were able to give Tobi a second chance by paying for the medical he needed. It is because of all of you and our amazing support system. Now he has a wonderful family and a forever home where he will be showered with endless unconditional love. ♡♡♡♡ Gina

King – Purposely Pushed Down the Stairs

5/19/17 UPDATE: King had his surgery and was also neutered in the process. He is doing well but was a little uncomfortable the first night. His rescuer spent the night on the couch next to King in his crate. Please pray that King can be placed in a loving home. ~ diana

5/18/17 – King was purposely pushed down the stairs of an upper flat because he chewed up some window blinds and ‘play nipped’ the children. King is only 5 months old and weighs 35 pounds and now his hip is broken. The doctor said the injury is similar to what would happen if he had been hit by a car. King has been surrendered to a rescue friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart and we will pay for King’s surgery and rehabilitation. I know people will ask if criminal charges have been pursued but, quite honestly, the police and prosecutors in this particular City, have a great deal on their plates and animal abuse is, unfortunately, very low on their priority lists. ~ dianaking w:lori stephens 5:15:17 --king w:lori stephens--5:15:17king w:loristephens 5::15:17

Precious – Adopted from a Texas Rescue Only to Find She is Heart Worm Positive

5/16/17 – Prayers for Precious. A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart contacted us in hopes we could assist. Her grandmother recently adopted this sweetie from a rescue in Texas (no judging). Unfortunately, when she had Precious examined by her vet, she learned that Precious has heart worm. When she contacted the rescue, the rescue ignored her and Precious’ need for treatment. Obviously this was not expected and the grandmother could not afford the medical and would have had to give up Precious. We will cover Precious’ heart worm treatment but I also want to use this situation as a warning to those looking for an animal to adopt. Please make sure you do your homework and work with reputable rescues and shelters who are local. There is no reason to search out of State when there are so many abandoned and stray animals in our rescues and shelters. ~ dianaprecious w:nikki rackley - heart worm 5:6:17precious wnikki rackley 5:6:17

Angel and Cookie (aka Lucy) – Before Adoption

5/13/17 Happy Mother’s Day! It doesn’t matter if your children are human, felines, or canines. It doesn’t matter if you are a foster mom, an adoptive mom, or a birth mom. What matters is the unconditional love and guidance moms bring to their children. Here is a photo from last year of one of the best foster moms in our Village — Gina’s Angel. Angel has fostered week-old kittens, puppies, recovering animals, and animals, like Cookie (now Lucy), who have been so emotionally abused. Today, Angel continues to be there for any lost or broken animal that Gina DeLuca rescues and Lucy is in her forever, loving home with our good friends Jean McAlees Winteringham and her husband, Phil. Much love to all of our friends who make our work possible. ~ dianaangel and cookie 5:13:17

Rosie Roo – Update

5/8/17 – Please pray for our Rosie. She is the sweetest dog I have ever met. I can’t imagine what would have happened to her had our friend, Denise, did not see of her plight. We love this sweet senior and will do whatever is necessary to make her last year’s, happy years. – diana

“Helloooo Team, its me…Rosie Roo⚘ Im home from the vet and ready for a nap. Soooo, I got my ummm, you know…back there cleaned out and my polyps checked and that was allll good 😊 I got medicine for my legs aches when its cold & rainy. Then my awesome vet looked in my mouth….sorry about the bad breath Doc. And yep, I got yucky teeth again. I only have 11 left, hope they dont take too many! So my dental is set for this Friday pending the results of my bloodwork from today. Also I got some antibacterial pads for mom to clean the little corners of my mouth that get red & irritated and a little skin infection going on from my hangy lip skin. Sheesh! My fatty tumors have not grown and my heart & lungs sound good. So we’re praying all goes well with my dental. Its always scary giving a girl my age anesthesia, but becuse 4 Paws 1 Heart and their generous donors love me so much Im able to get excellent veterinary care and they take extra special precautions with us seniors. Thankyou 4 Paws 1 Heart! Sooo, now Im going to have myself a well earned nap before dinner time. Love you, Love Rosie Roo⚘”

Tobi – Lost His Leg as a Result of Being Hit By Car Because He Wasn’t Leashed

5/4/17 – A large passion of mine has always been awareness and education because I feel that is where it starts. The pics we post can be graphic to some, but if it can assist in saving a life then I have accomplished my goal. This 6 month old puppy is an example of a pup that was let off leash. I am against letting an animal freely roam unrestrained in an unfenced area. It takes only one second for something to go terribly wrong so why allow that to happen if you can prevent it? Stabilization, surgery, and recovery for a dog hit by a car can cost an average of 1-10 grand and that is IF they make it. Unless you have the cash and are willing to take the risk of your pets life, you should be more responsible. This 6 month old pup lost his leg and we were fortunate to be able to help him, but he could’ve easily lost his life. Please, don’t allow your animal off the leash. Gina
