Mocha – Found Running in the Middle of the Street

8/22/16 – The same caring family who rescued Isaac, the paralyzed kitten who is being cared for by our Board member, rescued again; and this time, she is a very sweet dog who was wandering in the middle of the street. The dog had no identification and no owner could be found. The family took her in and named her Mocha. Shortly after the rescue, the family was called away on an emergency and when they returned, a once healthy Mocha was lethargic and had blood in her urine. They once again called on 4 Paws 1 Heart for help. We authorized Mocha to be seen by a veterinarian and, fortunately, it was found that Mocha had a urinary tract infection that could be treated. We were happy to help Mocha get a second chance at love. ~ dianamocha w:ryanbeets 8:21:16

Ali – As He Grows, He Will Need Surgery to Relieve Tension in His Skin

8/19/16 – Before and After pic’s…it’s a miracle that he survived this injury at only 2 days old. Please help us now help him with his final surgery.
Ali has major scars from his terrible injury, but the enormous wound has healed. He also lost 2 toes on the opposite foot. I’ve had him for over 12 weeks now, and he is more than ready for a forever home. BUT. In the very near future, Ali needs a consultation and a surgical procedure at Michigan State Veterinary Hospital. He will be seeing the specialist Dr. Stanley who is AMAZING with these types of cases. She took care of our “Sommerset”. Ali has tension in the area of the scar tissue, and as he gets bigger there is more tension. We are in need of donations for his upcoming care which will probably be about $1000 or more. If you can help we would greatly appreciate it! You can donate by clicking on the ‘donate’ link on this site or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080 ♡ Thank You ♡ Ginaali 7:19:16ali tension in leg 8:19:16ali wound soaks 6:19:16ali w:stitches 6:9:16

Puppy With the Parvo Virus is the Lone Survivor from a Litter of 3

8/17/16 – As with so many of our rescue friends this past summer, A Hopeful Heart had three puppies with the parvo virus. We were happy to help them with some medical dollars. This little guy turned the corner and was in recovery. A Hopeful Heart has always been such a great friend, always willing to help our friends with cat adoptions. Without each other, we could not accomplish what we do. ~ dianapuppy w:hopeful heart 8:16:16

Cocoa – Locked in a Closet and Only Taken Out to be Beaten

8/12/16 – We are less than a week away from our anniversary when we will be entering our 7th year of making miracles happen for the abandoned and abused. Although you’ve seen the myriad of cats and kittens we’ve been helping this year, if you know 4 Paws 1 Heart, you know we don’t discriminate. It just seems that the population of unwanted and sick cats and kittens have been greater than that for dogs. But, having said that, I would like you to meet Cocoa and ask you to say a little prayer that the rest of her life will be much better.

Cocoa had been abused by her original owners. They kept her locked in a closet and the man only brought her out for beatings. She is now obviously terrified of men. The person who had her afterward recently became homeless and left Cocoa with her grandfather; he wants the dog gone NOW. Consequently, there was a danger that Cocoa would be returned to the the original owner who used to beat her.

A very caring couple who have rescued several dogs and who we’ve helped with medical bills, including heart worm, contacted us for help. They will be taking over responsibility for Cocoa and have actually found a safe and loving home for her out of State once we have had her spayed, vaccinated, and tested. All of this will be done, and God willing, Cocoa will be on her way to a life of love.

Cookie – Please Spread the Word!! Cookie is Still Looking For Her Forever Home

Cookie is still looking for her forever home. 🙁 🙁 She is lovable, energetic, and all about snuggles. She is full grown, 15 pounds, and about 6yrs old. She likes car rides, walks, sitting in the window, and playing with toys. The only thing she’s not good with is the bigger dog, especially over food and toys. She’s fine with cats and she needs a really good home. Is it you????? If not please keep sharing! ♡ Ginacookie 8:9:16

Lacy – Left on the Streets Suffering from Heart Worm

8/1/16 – Happy August 1. Actually, I’m not too happy because it just means we are getting closer to the end of summer. Although, it is Monday and our last month of true summer, I wanted to start your day with a happy update. You might remember Lacy. It was this past April when Lacy and her new born puppies were found in a vacant rental unit. Thankfully, the agent of the management company talked with her co-workers and mama and her babies were all taken in. The puppies all found their way into a forever homes, but mama Lacy was found to be heart worm positive. That is when we received a call for help. We agreed to pay for Lacy’s heart worm treatment and today I am happy to report that Lacy is heart worm free and doing well. The only problem is that she needs a forever home. She is currently living at the Management’s headquarters and although she gets lots of attention during the day, she is without human companionship at night and on weekends. Her foster mom says she is a great girl and would love to be a part of someone’s family. If you are interested in sweet Lacy, please contact Debby at [email protected] Thank you for helping us make miracles happen. ~ diana

Frieda – Dumped on the 4th of July

7/28/16 – Meet Freedom aka Frieda! She was dumped on the 4th of July. 4 paws 1 heart offered to help with financial care to get her checked out and up to date with everything. Turns out she is showing signs of incontinence. Our good friend Lisa took this pup into her rescue and we are paying for her continued care. She may need to see a specialist unless medicine will control the problem. Then, she will need a spay and the final vaccinations. Please say big prayers for her recovery because it will be very difficult to place a urinary incontinence pup:( If you would like to donate towards Freda we would certainly appreciate any help. Gina

Roo – Needs Heart Surgery

7/25/16 – Meet “Roo”
This puppy is in need of heart surgery. When he was found we were contacted for the help he needed to have a consultation. An appointment was set up with a board certified Cardiologist, Dr Brown. As a result of the exam and ultrasound it was discovered that Roo does have a congenital heart defect which can be fixed with surgery. His foster parents are raising money for that surgery now. We hope that our assistance in getting him through the first step with Dr Brown will assist in giving him that second chance of life. It is because of your support that we are able to help those in need, those like Roo, get started on their new journey.. Gina
