Giving Tuesday 2016 – Be A Hero

11/29/16 – BE A HERO ON THIS GIVING TUESDAY by donating today to 4 Paws 1 Heart. With your support we can continue to make miracles like this happen.

It was a freezing January 20, 2015 afternoon when I received a call from our friend at Hopeful Heart Animal Rescue. She had been contacted by the Roseville Police about a dog found tied behind the Walmart store in Roseville, MI. The dog was found with her paw chewed off. She needed to be taken to emergency immediately — “Could 4 Paws 1 Heart cover the bill”. Our answer was yes and Courtney was taken immediately to our friends at Advanced Animal Emergency. Courtney needed emergency surgery before her leg became infected and before the bones in her intestines would cause a rupture. Within just a couple of hours, Courtney’s leg was amputated and the bones within her intestines were removed and she was on the road to recovery. It was surmised that the freezing cold had actually saved Courtney from actually bleeding out and dying while tied up and unable to escape.

After some investigation, video of the area showed two men get out of their car and tie Courtney to a structure two days before she was found. As you could see them pulling away (although unable to see the license plate), Courtney tried to chase them but was restrained by the rope. We don’t know when Courtney actually chewed her paw off; it could have been before she was dumped at the Walmart store in that no other remains were found near her. Fortunately, a kind employee found her and contacted the police. Her story went viral all over the world (check out 4paws1heart.or) and within days her story was aired on WDIV.http://www.clickondetroit.com/…/dog-left-chained-u…/30844982

Almost two years later, she is a happy, healthy dog living with a great family with two teenage sons who are very much in love with her.

You can be someone’s hero today by donating on this Giving Tuesday. Use the the link on this page, or on our website, 4paws1heart.org, or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. Thank you for being our HERO. ~ diana

11/12/16 – Just want to thank Painting With A Twist in Shelby Township for once again hosting 4 Paws 1 Heart for a fundraiser benefitting the abandoned and abused. Thank you, also, to Kelley Walter, who donated beautiful Christmas ornaments which were given as a thank you gift to our friends. And, I very much want to thank the 96 friends who attended. Friends and family had a great time eating, drinking, painting, and winning prizes. Many animals will be saved because of you! – diana

The Need Has Been Greater Than The Donations – Please Help

YOU CAN BE A HERO!! YOUR $40 DONATION WILL SAVE LIVES!!

10/27/16Did you know that 1 female cat (starting at 4 months old) can have 1 to 8 kittens, 3 To 5 times a year?
Did you know that 1 female cat can have 100 kittens in one year, and can reproduce almost her entire life?
Did you know that one pair of cats and their kittens can produce as many as 420,000 kittens?
AND, did you know that with a $40 donation we can spay/neuter one cat?

As of today, we have requests for 40 cats to be spayed/neutered and every day we get more. For every “NO”, 210,000 cats may be born and eventually die on the streets or in the shelters.

What else could you possibly do to make a bigger difference! Donations can be made on this page by using the donations link, by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. ~ diana

Vote For Chance

10/24/16 – Millions of dollars have been spent during this year’s election process which I believe is a dirty shame. Can you imagine the animals, senior citizens, and children who could be fed and medically treated with this money!! Instead it just goes to media and the creators of the ads. Here is a better suggestion:

Snickers (who was found in an icey puddle in an alley at just a few weeks old) has decided to be Chance’s (once paralyzed but now walks, has his own facebook page, and cares for fosters) running mate….they make the purr-fect cattidates. It’s true, they can’t use their paws to type e mails and they don’t like girls anymore (although they respect them). So start that write in campaign for the boys of 4 Paws 1 Heart and “GIVE AMERICA A CHANCE”; that is nothing to Snicker about! Check out “A Second Chance For Chance” AND…SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND make a campaign donation to 4 Paws 1 Heart for the Chance-Snicker ticket so more animals can be helped. Donations can be made by using the link on this page. We are also accepting nominations for the Cabinet. Try to keep diversity in mind and suggest a couple of dogs and females (maybe even a pygmy goat) although it was recently leaked that Snickers was taped telling Chance that “Dogs Drool, Cats Rule”. Oops. ~ diana

Ali – Prepares for His Second Surgery – Needs Prayers and Donations

Your Prayers and donations are strongly needed for this very sweet foster puppy, Ali. Some of you may remember that on May 5th he was abandoned with a terrible injury from getting closed in a recliner. His left rear leg was nearly cut off and two of his toes on the other leg were severed off. He was just 2 days old. 4 paws 1 heart has covered his medical since and I have been fostering and raising him. It’s been a long road and the most challenging case I’ve ever taken on, but as you can see he is a happy healthy puppy that is now 5 months old. Ali needs 2 final surgeries. Today we spent almost 7 hours on a road trip to Michigan State Veterinary College of Medicine where surgery on his scar tissue is scheduled for tomorrow morning. The estimate is $1800 to $2000. The reason for surgery is (1) To release the tension on his skin being caused by the scar tissue as he is growing. (2) He has a festering wound and is limping on the foot due to a piece of dislocated bone leftover from the injury. I will pick him up on Wednesday and he will then need 2 weeks of recovery. Our commitment to each animal involves finishing what we started. This is a hefty expense for our group especially at this time when we are swamped with requests for help. $2000 could save a lot of animals, but what do we do? Ali still needs a forever home and I truly believe that we were put here to give him a second chance for a reason. Please help us help him if you can. ♡ ♡♡♡ Gina.
