Syeera – RIP – She Was Found During a Severe Thunderstorm; Extremely Thin, Sick, and Walking in Circles

9/26/19 – RIP Syeera. She was found during a recent severe thunderstorm, a little over a week ago. She was extremely thin, wet, sick, and walking in circles. The woman who found her couldn’t leave her like that but also couldn’t take her inside because she has 3 large, cat-unfriendly dogs. So, she put Syeera in a large crate with food, water, and litter box but the crate had to be kept outside under an awning. Long story short, a person who transported her to the vet, decided she couldn’t stand thinking of Syeera in that crate and went back and got her. While in Danielle’s home, she realized that Syeera must have recently had kittens because there was still milk in her breast nipples and she was just so skinny. Syeera had been given antibiotics for her upper respiratory infection and seemed to be getting better but then she took a turn for the worse and arrangements were made for her to see one of our favorite veterinarians, Dr. Z at Orion Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, Syeera never made it to the appointment. The night before she began to have seizures and was taken to emergency. It was decided to let this very sweet girl cross the Rainbow Bridge. May God be with all of the animals out alone on the streets and be with the rescuers who try so hard to save lives. The heartbreak is overwhelming but they continue to do it, day in and day out. ~ diana

Billy – A Semi-Feral Cat Found Limping and Needing Medical Attention

9/25/19 – Billy is one of the many semi-feral cats living on the streets and being cared for by loving people. We were contacted when Billy showed up limping. The caretaker had been trying to trap him for a couple of years without success. We were worried his leg was broken. Billy was taken to one of our partner vets and after x rays it was determined that the limp was caused by an old injury. Billy was finally neutered, vaccinated, tested and was brought into the caretaker’s home. Unfortunately, he didn’t want to be cooped up in the home and the caretaker released him back to the outdoors. Billy is doing well. He has shelter and food and his limp has pretty much disappeared. – Diana

D.O.G. – Found Roaming the Streets

9/24/19 – The finder’s son named him D.O.G. He was found roaming the street and after 3 weeks of posting signs and information on For the Love of Louie, no owner could be found. And, although, it was against the finder’s better judgement, she did contact the Detroit Animal Control who said they were full and would not accept him. So, today D.O.G. will be taken to a vet, complements of 4p1h, and he will be heart worm tested (pray for negative results), scheduled for neuter, and vaccinated. The finder is desperate to find a rescue organization or eligible foster who can take him in while a permanent home can be found. Although D.O.G. is safe, the finder has two other dogs, one of which is not “fond” of strangers. If you can help, contact Dawn at: [email protected] – diana

Sterling, Autumn, and Pumpkin – Being Cared for at a Condominium Complex But the Managers Said They Have to Go

9/23/19 – Meet Sterling, Autumn, and Pumpkin. They were being fed by two kind ladies in a condominium complex. The kitties are between 5 and 6 months old and the condominium management was threatening the ladies to stop feeding them.
Fortunately, a rescuer we’ve helped, was able to step up and find an expert foster who will work with the kittens to socialize them which will eventually lead to adoption. 4 Paws 1 Heart is paying for them to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, and tested. Our hearts break for all of these innocents who are on the streets fending for themselves. Your donations and support at our fundraisers save lives. – diana

Bud – RIP – We are so Sorry That We Couldn’t Save YOU

9/22/19 – RIP Sweet Boy. Bud was born in a garage and cared for over the past five years by an elderly couple. A friend who stopped by noticed that Bud’s belly was very much extended and we were called to help. Bud went to one of our favorite vet partners. An x ray and ultra sound was done along with a test for FIV/FeLV. Unfortunately, a large mass was seen in Bud’s abdomen. Overall, Bud’s health was not good and, taking into consideration the mass in his abdomen, it was decided that what was best for Bud was to be humanely euthanized. As all pet parents/lovers know, this is the most difficult decision one has to make but we try to keep our personal emotions aside and do what is best for the animals. ~ dianabud w:shannon dempsey 9:18:19

Lovey and Her Babies – A Pregnant Mom Walked Into the Right Home

9/19/19 – Lovey walked into the rescuer’s home and little did the homeowner know that Lovey was pregnant. Not having any experience in this arena, the rescuer took Lovey into a vet we happen to partner with when Lovey appeared to be getting ready to give birth. The vet called and asked if we could help. We did. An x ray was taken to determine the number of kittens and before Lovey could go home, she had two kittens. She is now home with her babies, a little tired from all of the excitement. Look closely at this photo because the two babies blend right in with mama. ~ diana

Cali – Wandering the Streets Alone With an Upper Respiratory Infection

7/18/19 – This little sweetheart, Cali, was wandering the streets in a pretty tough neighborhood. Fortunately a family took her in and found another family member to give her a furever home. She has an upper respiratory infection and will need vetting once she recovers. I sincerely thank God for the many good people who do not turn their backs on these innocent animals who need us to survive. ~ diana
