5/3/18 – Major is an eleven-month old who was an owner surrender. He was staying with a family member while the owners were transitioning between States and then the family member threatened to take him to the shelter if they did not get him out ASAP. According to his rescuer, he is a big beautiful dog. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be taking care of his neuter so he will be ready for a new forever home. We wish Major the very best! ~ diana
Great big Thankyou to James Mazza!!! This is the pregnant feral cat I was asking for help for the other day for a safe place to have her babes. James stepped right up with a room just for her! Well, when James went to the meet the homeowner to trap mama, she had had her kits….6 of them!!! James scooped up the 5 he saw, and devised a plan to get mama..he advised me he wasn’t leaving without her. Annnnd he got her, plus 1 more kitten for a total of 6 and mama!!!! Awesome job James, thankyou!!!! And thankyou to 4 Paws 1 Heart who has so generously offered to take care of mama and her little family’s medical when appropriate. Stay tuned for pics of this lucky little family once mom is calmed and they are all settled in. And thankyou to the homeowner Peggy who made sure she found help for this family. Takes a village people!!!

5/2/18 – Fred was probably one of the many domesticated cats who are dumped in rural areas by disgusting owners. For some ignorant reason, there are people who seem to think all cats are created equal and can fend for themselves in the wild, even when they’ve been a family pet for years. Fred showed up in the rescuer’s barn after probably following one of her other barn cats through the ‘cat door’. He was limping and we were contacted for medical help. Fred was taken to one of our partner vets and a wound was found on his paw which was treated; we also took care of Fred’s other medical needs. Fred is doing well and the rescuer is looking for a forever home. ~ diana
5/1/18 – Vegas was one of 7 cats left behind when his owners were evicted. A very kind neighbor started caring for them and one day Vegas showed up with a swollen face and limping. We were contacted for help. Vegas saw one of our favorite vets and was found to have an abscess on his face; no wounds could be found on his leg but the doctor suspects the knee may be going “in and out”. Vegas is very sweet and was neutered. The rescuer was going to attempt to find a forever home. We pray she does. ~ diana
4/30/18 – John Doe was rescued after being thrown out of a car on a busy highway. John is very emaciated and had a ‘lump’ on his back. We approved for John to see our vet the next day and he was found to be heart worm negative. The lump appears to be a cyst. He is a very sweet dog who appears to have been abused and possibly used in fighting but was not mean enough. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to his medical needs and once he is healthy enough, he will get started with his heart worm treatment, neuter, and vaccines. Please remember that donations are needed more than ever this time of the year. Heart worm becomes overwhelming as well as the many instances of severe upper respiratory infections in cats and kittens — not to mention all of the kittens being born right now. 4/27/18 – Three more abandoned cats who will not be left on the street to face torture and cruelty. Meet Sofia, Midnight, and Gabby. All three have serious upper respiratory infections and were very emaciated. One appears to have been tortured. They are now safe and being treated for their wounds and illnesses. Of course, they will all eventually be vaccinated and spayed/neutered when they are healthy. ~ diana
4/25/18 – Meet Hamilton. He was standing in the middle of the street with cars passing all around him. His paws were red and raw. He was emaciated and had a lump on his back. We were called and, of course, we said yes. Hamilton saw one of our partner vets yesterday and the ‘lump’ will need to be removed but it appears non-cancerous. Unfortunately, Hamilton, like so many dogs rescued recently, is heart worm positive although, thankfully, it is a low grade. We will be covering Hamilton’s heart worm treatment, his neuter when it’s time, and removal of the tumor from his back. But, we need your help!!! 4/24/18 – Beautiful Aria — Our friend Roberta K. was contacted recently about a cat in a feral colony who needed medical attention. Roberta was able to trap her and saw that there appeared to be something wrong with Aria’s eye. We were contacted and we had Aria seen by one of our favorite doctors at Patterson Veterinary. Aria was seen Saturday and it was confirmed that she has a cataract resulting in almost total blindness. Roberta will work with Aria in hopes that she can be domesticated so that a forever home can be found for her. Aria was already spayed so there is a good chance that she was a pet at one time. ~ diana
4/23/18 – Hillel was being cared for as a member of a cat community. He showed up for food one day, very beaten up with a tooth missing, and what appeared to be a severe upper respiratory infection (URI). We authorized Hillel to be seen by one of our partner vets and he was treated for his wounds and the URI. Unfortunately, he tested positive for feline leukemia. A neighbor has taken him in to their home and will care for him until he can be retested. Prayers for Hillel ~ diana
