Sommerset (aka Sophia) is Adopted
11/3/15 – Sommerset aka Sophie Update..
This beautiful pup is a real life miracle. Her first few months of life was a bigger commitment than I expected, but she was a fighter that we all fell in love with. It took a village of professionals, and with your prayers and your donations here she is now. A healthy happy puppy with her whole life ahead of her! She has wonderful parents whom I couldn’t have done this without and this is her sister that she’s got in a little head lock. ♡ gina
Chance – His Letter to Ellen
Hi Ellen!!!! Im Chance the SuperHero Cat!!! I know what a big animal lover you are, so I thought you might enjoy this pic of me and my friend Miss Daisey Donkey. I mean its not everyday you see a cat in a wheelchair meeting a donkey with a prosthetic leg, right? I was rescued from a high kill shelter and my back legs became paralyzed. I went to live with my foster mom who has a soft spot for special needs ♥ Im soooo lucky that my medical needs are taken care of by 4 Paws 1 Heart, a wonderful donation based organization that provides medical dollars for abused, abandoned and neglected animals. Now I get physical therapy, accupunture & laser and Im making tons of progress!!! Thankyou Ellen for everything you do for the animals, Love, purrs & headbonks ♥ Chance #SuperBlessedSuperLovedSuperHero! P.S. You can see my progress at www.facebook.com/asecondchanceforchance and if you would like to learn more about 4 Paws 1 Heart, go to 4paws1heart.org. Meow for Now!!!!!
Emmie – Rescued with Four Siblings
Coal – Rescued from the Streets
10/31/15 – Happy Halloween!! Many shelters and rescues will not adopt out black cats during this time of the year because too many people will use them for abusive purposes. When halloween is over, please consider adopting a black beauty. You will not be disappointed!! I have always felt that God made black cats and dogs more loving because they are often the last to be adopted. If you are looking for a new best friend, check out our Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart page. There are many black cats we have helped with medical treatment who are still looking for their forever homes. This is Coal. If you are interested in Coal, contact Patricia at [email protected] (or check him out on the Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart Facebook page.
Magic – A Feline with Catitude – Gets An Orthopedic Device
10/30/15 – Magic!! When we say it takes a village, Magic’s story is the perfect example. It was early Spring, 2015 when I received a phone call from a person who we’ve assisted before in the Bad Axe, MI area She had just rescued a kitten who was trying to get someone’s attention in the doorway of a Taco Bell. The poor little guy had an obvious problem with his leg and was dragging it. I told the rescuer that 4 Paws 1 Heart could definitely start the process by getting him into a vet to be assessed and that I would see if we could find a rescue to take him in. That is when Kelly, of Friends of Heavenly Paws of Michigan stepped up and agreed to take Magic into their rescue and we committed to Magic’s medical bills. We had Magic assessed by a couple of veterinarians who both agreed that Magic’s leg should be amputated. But this sweet little guy is a fighter (like A Second Chance For Chance) and we all agreed to have him seen by Dr. Kern of Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation & Therapy for Pets. Dr. Kern felt strongly that Magic had the catitude to go through therapy and that his leg could be saved. 4 Paws 1 Heart has been paying for Magic’s therapy sessions since and just recently Heavenly Paws and 4p1h decided to share the cost of an orthopedic device recommended by Dr. Kern. Everyone agrees that Magic is one special boy who definitely deserved that second chance in life. ~ diana
