Ginger Update
3/29/15 – The last day of the weekend brings our last happy update – GINGER. She was rescued from the streets of Grosse Pointe Park. No one claimed her and 4 Paws 1 Heart paid to have her examined by a veterinarian where it was found that she had an old gunshot wound and was heart worm positive. Some of the metal was taken out of her leg but a couple of weeks later, we decided to have another veterinarian examine her. There it was found that she had a serious leg infection and had multiple fractures in her foot. The good news is that this past week, Ginger found her forever dad and will be spoiled like a princess while she is treated for all of her illnesses and injuries. Here is Ginger when first found and now in her new home. Can you see the new hope in her eyes? ~ diana
GINGER and Her Dad
SONIC (aka DINO) – A Miracle
3/28/15 – Good Morning Update – SONIC (aka Dino):
It was 9/30/14, shortly after he was brought into the emergency after being attacked by a large breed terrier that Gina reported this update: “Last night this 12 week old kitten underwent major surgery to repair the holes in his body wall. He also needed a feeding tube placed because of the damage to the roof of his mouth. Today, he is recovering better than we expected, but it could take several weeks before his mouth heals. Sonic not only survived a dog attack but he survived the surgery which was a risk, for a 3# young kitten. He is full of kisses, purring, and so full of appreciation today.” It was a couple of months later when Sonic was adopted by dear friends of ours but again he needed surgery for teeth damaged during the attack. He came out of the surgery like a champ and here is a before and today photo of our sweet boy. ~ diana
RYKER UPDATE – An Amputated Leg Hasn’t Kept Him From Love
3/27/15 – Happy Week-End Updates – Ryker (meaning Strength):
In May 2014 this little sweetheart was brought in by a good Samaritan. He was attacked by two German Shepherds. He underwent two hours of surgery with Dr. Rivera due to severe wounds to his body; his intestines and bladder were actually on the outside of his abdominal wall and needed emergency surgery that night. He eventually had to have his broken leg amputated. After many weeks of hospitalization made possible with funds from 4 Paws 1 Heart, Ryker recovered and found his forever home. Here is a before and today photo. His name is now Max. ~ diana

Honey – Roaming the Streets and Having Seizures
Please Help! We need your help to get this baby girl into a foster home or rescue asap. Last week I was contacted by a friend who heard of this girl that was found roaming the streets. She is about 7 yrs old but it’s just a guess. She weighs about 10# and she was having seizures. I offered to help the lady who is temporarily holding onto “Honey”. We did a full work-up at the vet and began her on a low dose of Anti-Seizure medication. Honey has until next week to go, and we are searching for help.. Please email me for more information. Personality seems very sweet. Gina [email protected]
Ginger Finds Her Way into the Heart of a 4 Paws 1 Heart Friend
3/25/15 – GINGER Update: First and foremost, thank you to all of our friends who have been sharing Ginger’s story and making offers to assist and saying prayers. We are working feverishly this morning to make arrangements for transfer to what we believe will be Ginger’s permanent home. I also want to say that the person who rescued Ginger from wandering the streets with a bullet wound has been evicted from her home because she tried to save this dog. Now, for the GOOD NEWS. A very good friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart, who has a huge heart and a phenomenal ability to give Ginger everything she needs, has offered to adopt her. We also have some back up should anything fall through. I didn’t want to wait until everything was completed because I know that all of you have been praying for this sweet girl. I’ll keep you updated through the day. ~ Diana

Ginger is Desperate for Shelter
3/24/15 – HELP — The rescuer will be taking Ginger to a shelter to be euthanized tomorrow. If we can find a qualified foster, we have a rescue who is willing to include Ginger in their adoption events. Here is Ginger’s story. Please contact Gina (not Gina from 4 paws 1 heart) if you can help.
This very sweet girl needs our help; the only break she’s had was to be rescued by the right person. She needs a foster/adopter and we could use financial help so that we can follow through with her medical bills. If you can help with providing her a home whether permanently or while she goes through treatment, contact Gina at [email protected]. If you would like to make a donation to help with medical bills, donations can be made through paypal on this page or through our websitewww.4paws1heart.org.Here is Ginger’s very sad story that we posted on March 6, 2015.
Ginger was found wandering the streets during the below zero temperatures. She was severely malnourished and had a leg wound. The rescuer’s friend, Gina, (not our Gina) contacted us to get help. Ginger was taken to one of the caring veterinarians who work with us and it was determined that the wound on her leg was infected and was the result of a gun shot. Fortunately, the doctor was able to get most of the metal out but when he tested her for heart worm, it turned out to be positive. When I talked with the doctor, he told me how very sweet she is and it just broke my heart to think we couldn’t help her. So, one way or the other the rescuers and 4 Paws 1 Heart have decided to do whatever we can to get her healthy and find her a foster home — but even better a loving, forever home. Ginger is not spayed and won’t be able to have that surgery until she goes through heart worm treatment. She can’t start her treatment until she gains some weight. Ginger is crate trained, good with cats and good with kids. Because she is in heat she has not been allowed to be around the male dogs of the rescuers so they are not sure how she is with dogs. She is very loving and never barks. Her current guardians said she is just the best dog but because they already have their dog limit they can’t foster much longer. Please share Ginger’s story. We’ll keep everyone updated. ~ diana
