Benny and Atticus – Left Behind By Their Owners
4/25/15 – Meet Benny and Atticus, left behind when the owners were evicted. They are already neutered but will be seen by a vet next week to receive their boosters and be given any other treatment required. I’m not sure of their ages but if anyone is interested in giving these boys a home, please contact Jo at [email protected] ~ diana
Dog Aide Community Awareness Comes to the Rescue
The power of Networking saved this girl today.. It started with a Good Samaritan who found her, then Ashley Hooper for taking the call, and next a mass text I made out to several Rescue friends. Now this princess is in a safe place, and if an owner isn’t found then she’ll be placed in a forever home once ready…. That’s what it’s all about! Gina
Mario – Left Behind By His Owners!
4/23/15 – I’ve ranted before but WHY do people leave behind their pets?? It seems especially common amongst cats. Do people really think an animal will survive in a home without fresh food and water. This is Mario. He is 11 years old, front declawed, neutered and, complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart, had his vaccinations updated and was examined by a veterinarian. If you can give this little sweetie a forever home, please contact Jo at [email protected]
Backyard Breeders Strike Again!
4/22/15 – These 3 puppies were in a litter of nine. Once again, a backyard breeder looking to make money off of the backs of these innocents. Two caring women were able to get 6 of the puppies and 4 Paws 1 Heart was asked to help with three of them. They have been seen by a vet and everyone appears to be healthy. ~ diana
Community Cats
4/21/15 – The untimely death of baby Stanley as a result of ingesting rat poison once again prompts me to vilify those communities that do not allow cat communities, trap, neuter, return programs, or free-roaming cats. Rather than utilize poisons to rid ourselves of nuisance animals why not let nature take its place. First, if you have rats, make sure your property and the properties around you are free of garbage, dog feces, etc. If you have a neighbor who won’t comply with local ordinances, report them as many times as necessary and demand action. And, second, STOP killing free-roaming, feral cats. In Macomb County, MI, the cities of Eastpointe, Sterling Heights, and Roseville continue to remove cats and take them to the for-profit veterinary, Animal Care Hospital of Sterling Heights, where they will be killed rather than contract with the Macomb County Animal Control Shelter which practices trap, shelter, and return for all felines brought into the shelter. And, these are not the only cities who are still following these barbarian practices. Find out what your community is doing and let’s stop the practice of using poisons in our environment because it’s easy and let’s promote life. ~ diana
Stanley – The Rat Poison Won – RIP Sweet Baby
4/20/15 – PLEASE do not keep RAT POISON around animals!!! I am very upset to report that this 4 month old puppy we took in last night went into cardiac arrest just a little while ago. He ingested Decon (rat poison), and had been bleeding internally. Apparently it was to late for our little Stanley.. He was doing good when we hospitalized him and began treatment, but he went downhill during the night/day today.. I’m extremely bummed this little guy didn’t survive.
