Sommerset – Post Op Check Up

sommerset9:16:15sommerseteating9:16:159/16/15 – In a few more hours Dr. Maria, Sommerset, and I will be heading over to Michigan State University for a post-op checkup. Sommerset had reconstructive surgery on her scar tissue 1 week ago by one of the very best soft tissue surgeons, Dr. Stanley. The doctors don’t know for certain, but suspect that a contaminated bag of subcutaneous fluids caused the damage.
Thank you all for your positive thoughts and your donations during our journey with this beautiful little girl. We are blessed to have your support in giving animals like this a chance of life. Auntie Venus and Uncle Jeff have been absolutely wonderful with puppy sitting, and I could NOT have done it without them!!! I will keep you all posted after our visit at MSU in the morning. Gina and Sommerset.♡

Hercules – 2015 Walk/Run Fur Fun Event

9/12/15 – Aunt Lori sent this message and photos to us.

“This is the infamous Hercules whose story touched hundreds of people. He was at the4 Paws 1 Heart 5K today with his Mom. The picture on the left is as he is today. The picture on the right is how Hercules was after his abuse that caused orthopedic damage when I first met him. I worked with this boy for 9 months with hydrotherapy and his Mom is keeping him in top form! So great to see him and how well he is doing! We all love him here at 4 Paws 1 Heart! 2015 Walk/Run Fur Fun – Best Dressed Dogs

Some of our best dressed dogs from our 5K event yesterday. Although our baby, Sammi, didn’t win in her beautiful pumpkin costume, she is still very special to us. Sammi was brought into the emergency hospital in 2011 dying of Parvo. Gina and the great emergency staff saved her and ever since she has been living in the best home ever. She is the ‘pumpkin’ of her daddy’s eyes. ~ diana sammiw:doribingham9:12:15Raisinsw:jillgrizzwald2015gladiator9:12:15sparty9:12:15

Simba (II) – Family Couldn’t Afford His Medical Care

9/12/15 – Simba9:12:15Simba has 8 toes on each paw and he’s adorable!
He is 5 yrs old and in need of a good home. Simba was surrendered to us on Labor day. He blocked (couldn’t urinate), and he was going to be euthanized. His family loved him very much, but this was an emergency they couldn’t handle. Often times, once unblocked by a veterinarian, a change in diet is all that’s needed to manage this issue, but occasionally more aggressive treatment is needed. If you can find it in your ♡ or know someone looking for a very sweet cat please email me. [email protected]

Bailey – Dressed Up for the 2015 Walk/Run Fur Fun

9/12/15 – It was so much fun catching up with some of the dogs helped by 4 Paws 1 Heart. This little Piglet is Bailey. She was rescued this past summer; her owner no longer wanted her but, thankfully, there was someone who did. Bailey is an older dog who might be deaf and has heart issues but she had a great time at the Walk/Run Fur Fun Event today. ~ dianabailey9:12:15

Wicket – RIP Sweet Baby

9/11/15 – RIP Sweet Wicket – Run free without pain and humiliation. You were much loved during your short time on this earth.

“Its with a very heavy heart I must tell you Little Wicket earned his wings today. Sadly his hurtles were just to huge to overcome. He had severe spinal deformities, problems digesting his food, and his sphincter muscle stayed open, never closed. Which is why he had no control over his bowels. Although his time here was not nearly long enough, it was filled with fun & love. He was loved & treasured every minute till his last breath. Thankyou 4 Paws 1 Heart for being here all along for Wicket & Ninos medical needs & support for me.Thankfully Dr. Owing feels that Nino will go on to live a healthy, happy life. We just have a couple small issues to work out. RIP Sweet Boy, love you always ♥  Foster Mom Dee”wicketRIP9:10:15
