Kittens – 2015 — So Many Need Our Help

10/18/15 – A huge thank you to our dear friends who responded to our call out for donations. As I’ve said before, every penny adds up. The other night we received a call for help from a woman two doors down from a neighbor who died. No one knew that the woman’s cat had been left alone, in the apartment, since the woman had died 3 WEEKS AGO!! Although we are not a rescue, we are blessed with friends who are experienced and live to save. The cat has been hiding in a hole under the sink and now our friends are desperately trying to entice her out. So, please say a few prayers for that baby and in the mean time be happy about the many cats and dogs our friends have saved and who received medical assistance through 4 Paws 1 Heart and our generous donors and supporters. Here are more cats and kittens we’ve helped this summer. I will let you know what happens with the other cat, left behind. ~ dianakittens----2015kittens---2015kittens::2015kittensof2015

Bailey – Left to Die, Locked in a Garage

10/16/15 – Meet Bailey. Bailey and his housemate were left to die, locked in a garage by their owners who left the premises. Fortunately, the homeowner found them in time and contacted Detroit Pit Crew. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be paying for Bailey’s vetting and neutering. He will eventually be available for adoption through the rescue group Semper Fidelis. ~ dianabailey10:16:15

Asher – The Rescuer and the Rescued

10/15/15 – Asher was about 9 weeks old when a caring woman found her on the streets of Detroit. Asher means ‘blessed’ and the rescuer feels that not only was Asher blessed when she was rescued but that she and her daughter were blessed when they were called on to save her. 4 Paws 1 Heart has been taking care of Asher’s medical bills and we are just beyond grateful to not only help save Asher but to help a family that was going through some trying times when they rescued her. dianaasher10:15:15---asher10:15:15

Fundraising – Your Donations Save Animals

10/14/15 – You don’t know how much I hate this but donations have been very, very slow and we are now at an all-time low that may restrict us from doing anything other than minor vet visits and low-cost spaying/neutering. Although our generous veterinarians provide us with discounts, veterinarian bills are still expensive and there is no way of getting around it. How can we turn our backs when an animal may lose an eye or is dying of heart worm or parvo?? With just Chance and Sommerset, we have paid over $4,000 in medical bills. But, can we really say no when these animals have so much will to live?? From January 1 through October 15, 2015, 4 Paws 1 Heart has paid $104,000 in medical bills. An amazing feat for such a small organization which started just 5 years ago in southeast Michigan. Please, please consider making a donation. If every person who is a friend of this page and Chance’s A Second Chance For Chance page made just a $5 donation we would be able to continue with making an amazing difference for our four-legged babies who deserve a second chance in life. If you would like to make a donation, please click on the donation link on this page, or by mail, a check can be sent to P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080, or on our website at 4paws1heart.org. 99.9% of your donation dollar goes directly to the rehabilitation of the rescued animal—not too many 501c3 organizations can say that. We really can’t do it without YOU. Thank you in advance. ~ dianachance10:10:15

Ash – Found On the Streets

10/13/15 – Meet Ash. He was rescued from the streets. The little guy would walk and then seem to lose his balance and fall over. The rescuer, Jessica, contacted us not knowing what to do other than knowing she had to save this sweet little guy. Ash was taken to the vet, complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart, and it appears that his balance issues might be attributed to ear infections. The poor guy was infested with fleas and ear mites. He has been to the vet a couple of times now and is doing good. He loves to play and is very happy to be in a loving home. Ash will be getting neutered this week and, as always, 4 Paws 1 Heart is happy to help these abandoned babies find a second chance at life. Here is Ash when he was first rescued and now. ~ dianaash::1013:15ash10:13:15

Fundraising – Detroit Lions VS Green Bay Packers

I know the Detroit Lions have been disappointing but as die-hard fans, don’t you still want to try and root them on to victory against the Green Bay Packers? We may even understand if you root for the Packers (I said understand not like it). Join us for a fun afternoon at Colleens’s Irish Pub, St. Clair Shores, MI rooting for whoever you would like and just enjoying the friendship of like-minded people who care about all animals. Hope to see you there! ~ dianalionsvsgreenbay

Sommerset Update

Sommerset aka ( baby girl) Update.. A few scars will not stop this beautiful girl from a life of love and happiness.. For those of you that don’t remember her, we took her into 4 paws 1 heart back in August. She is now close to 10 weeks old. She came in weighing only 1 pound and found on the streets. She has gotten surgery from specialists at MSU and she has received lots of care from the Animal Urgent and Critical Care Center doctors. The Doctors suspect Sommerset contracted a bacteria under her skin from a contaminated bag of SQ fluids. The skin sloughed off and she needed reconstructive surgery on the areas where there was a lot of tension. She is doing great now! Thank you all who have followed her story from the beginning, donated, or said a prayer. I’m happy she survived and she will make a wonderful family member to whomever adopts her. ~ Ginasommerset10:10:15sommerset:::10:10:15sommerset++++10:10:15
