Melly – Almost Dumped at a Shelter

1/17/18 – Melly’s owner, an 18 year old who left for Florida, was going to dump him on the streets or in a shelter; instead he surrendered this sweetheart to Paws With a Mission who then contacted us for some medical assistance. We were happy to assist with Melly’s neuter, vaccines, and heart worm test. Anyone interested should contact Paws With a Mission. ~ dianamelly 1:12:18melly w:paws with a mission 1:3:18melly w:paws with a mission

Annie – Four Days Old and Overlooked by Her Owners

1/15/18 – annie 1:15:18Meet my new orphan puppy. Female Chihuahua, weighing 5 ounces and only 4 days old. Five puppies were born and the mom wanted nothing to do with them. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon and many puppies don’t survive. This last puppy was given a chance just before it was too late. She was surrendered over to 4 paws 1 heart.. I immediately began tube feeding her and she is doing well. I will be caring for her around the clock and I’ll post updates.♡ Gina

Friggles – Burned by Flea Medication

Clarification – friggles was treated as a very young puppy with flea medication. His story is on our website: 4paws1heart.org

This has been going on since October, 2017. 4 Paws 1 Heart has continued to help Friggles fully recover. Please be careful as to what you use on your pets. ~ dianafriggles 1022:17Friggles October, 2017friggles 1:12:18---

Jack and Toby – Update

1/14/18 – Retro Sunday – This is Jack and Toby. Jack was fortunately enough to show up one day at a very loving couple’s home. He had one eye and they didn’t know what to do. You can read his story on our website (4paws1heart.org). We were contacted and we made arrangements for sweet Jack to be treated. We are so thankful that his mom and dad continue to keep us updated about this handsome guy — last year he was in our 2017 calendar. Even though we may not be able to save them all, the reality is that without 4 Paws 1 Heart over 4,500 animals may not have lived to see another day. Thank You to the rescuers, the fosters, the adopters, and our donors. ~ dianaJack and Toby 1:14:18

Chelsea – RIP — You Just Couldn’t Survive a Serious Infection and a Broken Leg

chelsea 1:14:181/14/18 – RIP Sweet Chelsea — You didn’t die without being loved. With a very sad heart I want to recognize this sweet little girl who showed up in an apartment building needing help. Her leg bone was totally exposed and she was unable to walk on it. We were contacted by a resident who had hoped it was just a serious infection. We authorized Chelsea to be seen by a doctor. Sadly, we were unable to save her. It is thought that she was severely injured by being hit by a car. She is now running free without pain, without freezing temperatures, and with plenty of food. ~ diana

Soup – A Look Back in Time

1/13/18 – An oldie by a goodie. Our boy, Soup. It was four years ago when Soup was brought into the emergency where Gina worked. He spent 12 weeks in a crate (with Chance’s mom) while he recovered from a broken Pelvis. Then, he spent almost a year with Gina DeLuca while she tried to find the purrfect family. And, as Gina does so often, she did find that purrfect family MaryBeth Walsh Victor. Can you just imagine the horror of having your pelvis broken, your head stuck in a can, and lying helpless in the cold? ~ diana

“Remember Soup? He was found with his head stuck in a soup can? The shaved area on his hind end was because another animal crushed his pelvis. Unable to defend himself, he cried and crawled until someone heard him and contacted us for help. I took him home to recover from his shattered pelvis (12 weeks to officially heal), and this December made one year fostering him. Longest foster ever in my home. I’m very happy to report that Soup will be going to his forever home this Friday. I will miss him dearly, but this family is wonderful for him! They are perfect, he is perfect, and he will get the love and attention he deserves. We are so blessed to have given him a 2nd chance especially after being found on the street unable to walk.. Baby – She Was Found Running the Streets; No Owner Could Be Found

1/12/18 – This is Baby. Someone called Erica (an independent rescuer we have worked with in the past) weeks ago about a stray purple poodle running 7 mile in Detroit. Erica picked her up, and got her cleaned up. Baby appeared rather healthy and cared for. Due to the purple paws, she felt that she had a home somewhere. Erica tried really hard to find her owners but no one was found. She was loved at one point before becoming displaced. Recently she began wobbling/shaking a bit and she appeared to have a skin issue. Erica is committed to this girl as far as fostering her. She is approximately 6 years old. 4 Paws 1 Heart has committed to helping Baby and she was recently treated at the vet and spayed. We are hoping that an imbalance in her glucose levels may have caused the wobbling. Anyone interested in Baby should contact Erica at: [email protected] ~ dianababy 1:12:18

Stanley – Update

1/11/18 – Please continue your prayers for our senior girl, Stanley, who was found in a colony in Chesterfield, MI during below freezing temperatures. Rather than humane euthanization, our friend, Jo, has taken in Stanley and doing everything possible to help in her recovery. ~ diana
