Pamela – Found on the Streets with Masses Seen Near Her Lungs and Abdomen

4/18/18 – Pamela is a senior girl who was found wandering the streets of a nearby city. We were asked to cover her vetting before a rescue took over. Pamela was seen yesterday and x-rays showed possible masses near her lungs and stomach; she tested negative for heart worm. The rescue will follow up with their vet and make a decision about surgery or hospice care at that time. Prayers for all of these abandoned and abused animals are always welcome. ~ dianapamela w:sandra a 4:11:18

Ellie – Update After Her Leg Amputation

Update on “Ellie”. She was initially found as a stray with a badly broken leg. We took her in under 4 Paws 1 heart to cover her medical care and give her the chance she would not have had. We decided amputation was the best option because this was an old injury that had already begun healing. Her surgery was done last Wednesday by our friends over at Patterson Veterinary Hospital. Ellie was also fixed and given her final vaccines. She’s a very sweet girl with a whole lot of energy and three legs has not stopped her or slowed her down. In fact, keeping her activity down so that she can heal has been quite the challenge. In about 2 weeks, Ellie will be going to a rescue group where we hope she will find a wonderful forever home! If you would like to help donate towards her amputation surgery we would greatly appreciate any assistance. As all of you know, the money goes out much faster than it comes in and without your help we could not continue to give animals like Ellie a chance at a forever home. ♡ellie.jpg 4:2:18

Mia – Used For Breeding Until She Was Five; Then Dumped

4/16/18 – She was chained and used for breeding until she had her last litter of sick puppies when she was 5 years old. She was given up because she was too old to further breed. The rescuer found homes for the puppies and on Friday, Mia was seen for an eyelid tumor. She is scheduled for surgery complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Say a little prayer for this very abused girl.mia w:amy b 4:10:18

Dewey – Brought Into the Emergency Hospital 4 Years Ago – Update

4/15/18 – A little over 4 years ago Dewey was brought into the emergency hospital. Gina took him and found a forever loving family. Here is an update from his mom.
“I was just listening to this guy breathe next to me. I was thinking he does that and brings us so much joy for the last 4 years because of the 4 paws 1 heart family. Such a special organization and a special person you are, Gina.”

Collages – Some of the Animals Helped Between February 22 and April 4, 2018

4/14/18 – The other evening I had to make a presentation about the animals we helped between February 22 and April 4. The total medical cost for these sweeties came out to approximately $10,000. A number of these cases involved amputations, heart worm treatment or other serious injuries; a couple of these sweeties crossed the Rainbow Bridge but not without us trying and being surrounded by love. I also spoke of the number of animals not born because, where appropriate, every animal was spayed/neutered. It is this time of the year when we are again reminded of the importance of stopping the overwhelming number of kittens from being born. If you want to learn more about the animals shown, please go to our website:4paws1heart.org and search using the animals name. Your donations make a difference~ diana

💟 Thank you Tonya for housing the little princess and giving her meds.
💘 Thank you Lori for sharing my crazy cat with your friends.

Milo – Found in a Cat Community With a Wounded Paw

4/13/18 – Meet Milo. He is living in a cat community being cared for by a very kind woman. She noticed that Milo had been limping and believed he had an injured paw. Of course, we agreed that he needed to be seen because how can a community cat take care of himself if he is unable to jump and run. Milo was seen by one of our favorite vets who found a wound on Milo’s paw. The wound was cleaned and Milo received antibiotics and he is back with his community friends doing well. ~ dianamilo 4:13:18

Sky – Found in the Middle of the Road; Emaciated and Hungry

4/12/18 – I recently received the following e mail from the kind man who saved Rhue (see his story on our website 4paws1heart.org) after he was seen being dumped in a parking lot by two people.
“I was driving down the road and saw this little white pitbull in the middle of the road, just sitting there. I put the truck in park and I approached the dog. I could tell that she was really thin and hungry. As I got up close to her, I saw she had a collar on that was about 3 weeks to small–I couldn’t even get my finger underneath it, so, again, I brought another dog home. I don’t know why this happens to me but I was determined to save him. I cut the collar off his neck and gave him a bath. I’m not sure if you guys are able to help out with the medical attention. I plan to adopt Sky out to my daughter after I train him for her and she’ll have a really good Pitbull. I thank you so much for helping more than ever it warmed my heart in a world that’s heartless…. its a true blessing to have people like me and you; together we may change the world. God bless. – Craig”

In later conversation, I learned that the rescuer must travel through the area where Rhue and Sky were found and he believes that Sky was another ‘dumped’ animal. An owner never came forth. We were happy to support Sky and are very thankful for people like Craig. Here is a photo of Sky when first found almost 3 weeks ago and now with a nice full belly and with her new buddy, Rhue. ~ Dianasky w:craig lester 3:22:18sky w:craig lester 4:8:18rhue and sky4:9:18
