5/23/18 – RIP SweetPea. She was rescued from the streets. Then, suddenly a cyst began to grow on her face. She was taken to the vet but before surgery could be performed, she passed away. We really don’t know why or whether there was something more going on than what we could visibly see. Again, thank you to one of our dear friends for trying to save her. ~ diana

Savannah – Rescued – Pregnant With a Fractured Pelvis – Her Babies Were All Dead
5/22/18 – A friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart received an urgent call about a female cat who was unable to move and appeared to be pregnant. Our friend immediately went to rescue the cat and brought her to one of the vets who work with us. It was confirmed that Savannah had a fractured pelvis and was indeed pregnant although no heart beats could be detected. Savannah had to have an emergency c-section; no babies were alive. Savannah is now with a foster and is doing well on crate rest. Please say a little prayer for her recovery. ~ diana

Graham – Found on the Streets
5/17/18 – Graham was found as a stray and his owner was never found. He was brought into rescue when they were asked for help. The rescue paid for his vaccines and heart worm test but, unfortunately, the test was positive. This rescue has had at least 12 heart worm positive dogs in the last 12 months. 4 Paws 1 Heart has experienced the same.
Graham is still a bit under weight and he has a wonderful temperament. 4 Paws 1 Heart has paid for Graham’s heart worm treatment and anyone interested in giving Graham a forever home should contact StreetHearts Animal Rescue. _ diana
Mama and Four Kittens – Rescuer Was Going to Take to a Shelter
5/17/18 – Tuesday night I received an urgent call for help:
“Hi, about an hour ago I was contacted by a colony caregiver about a mama and 4 kittens. One kitten seemed to be weak and all kittens had uri’s. The finder was going to turn them over to the shelter but instead i took them in. I’ve only had them for about 2 hours but it is urgent they get to a vet, one
kitten is not doing good at all; the kittens are around 8 weeks old. one has poop falling from his bottom and he is very weak, the mama is not feral just a little scared…. I have begged rescue but all are full and time is of the essence
with the weak kitten… if I cannot find a rescue I am willing to keep this mom and kittens until they find great homes or until a rescue is found but I cannot fund their vetting. At any time I can take them anywhere if needed to be… If you could help I would forever be grateful. Ty Shawna” ~ diana
The very sick kitten was taken to a nearby emergency where the veterinarian actually provided care at no cost. Although, Shawna felt the kitten was beyond help, the doctor believed otherwise and the kitten was taken home. During the night he perked up but by yesterday morning he was again gravely ill. By the time he could be treated any further, he died. On the same day Mama and the other three kittens visited one of our partner veterinarians and all of them were treated for URI’s. We will continue with our commitment until the family is healthy, vaccinated, and able to be spayed/neutered. RIP Little One and please say a little prayer for the rest of the family. God Bless the Rescuers. ~ diana
Mama Cat and Babies – Mom Was Frightened and the Babies Were Alone – Now Reunited
5/16/18 – You might remember our posting of last week regarding 4 kittens found abandoned in a home; they still had their umbilical cords attached but mom had been friightened off. The kittens were immediately taken in by one of our friends and a person who could bottle feed them was found. Our friend went back to the home and set traps for what she was told were 3 more cats who had been in the home. As luck (and prayers) would have it, the first cat to be trapped was the kittens’ mom. She was immediately placed with her babies and here they are. Of course, 4 Paws 1 Heart will be taking care of their medical needs when they are ready to be seen by a vet. Again, thank you to every person who works beyond the call of duty to save these animals.

Kuz – Struggling Through Many Health Issues and Now Heart Worm
5/14/18 – Prayers for Kuz as he gets ready to start his heart worm treatment. We are thankful to our many rescue friends, veterinarians, and supporters who make a difference in the lives of the abandoned and abused. ~ diana
“A little over a month ago we found out this guy had a slew of health problems and heartworms to top it all off. Diana and 4 Paws 1 Heart are his saving grace. They are sponsoring the heartworm treatment. He had bloodwork and started doxycycline to begin treatment. He was started on milk thistle and cranberry for his liver and kidneys. And he was sent up north to be cared for.
Today he had the staging done and more bloodwork. His bloodwork looked good (greatly improved) and he will start the shots on Monday.
Thank you Linda for being his caregiver and making sure he gets to his appointments.
Thank you Diana & 4 Paws 1 Heart 💗~ Megan”
