12/4/22 – In early November I received an e mail from a man who said he and his wife had been caring for a very sweet, neglected cat who was living outside. She had been coming around for food. They got him to a point of being healthy but noticed her “eye was missing and hadn’t been closed up”. She also was not spayed. The couple fell in love with her but couldn’t afford to get the veterinary help the little one needed but wanted to give her a furever home. They called her ‘One Eye’ and arrangements were made for her to be seen by one of our favorite clinics — Patterson Veterinary Hospital. She was seen by the vet shortly afterward and the doctor determined that there was an eye there but it needed to be removed. That was this past Wednesday. One Eye’s dad sent me the following message:
‘I want to thank you so much for what your organization did. Day one out of surgery and I can tell you they must have done an amazing job in there. It was pretty bad, and so extremely necessary to fix. She also seems happier like there’s some relief.
We couldn’t have done it without your help, and from the bottom of our hearts we want to thank you! When we can, how can we donate to the org? We’d like to give back some.- Brett”
There are many animals we are are asked to help that, although expensive, just need the standard vetting (testing, vaccines, spay/neuter, fleas/parasite treatment. But, unfortunately, there are still so many animals who are found needing very expensive medical care that too often is unaffordable for the good Samaritan or rescue/shelter. And, that is when 4 Paws 1 Heart is contacted and why your support is so critical. Without your support of donations and participation in fundraisers we would never have been able to help over 10,000 stray cats and dogs living in the streets or in abusive homes. And, that is why we are trying so hard to win the Detroit News Holiday Cheer for Charity worth $20,000! Just scroll down a couple of postings and click on the photo and donate what you can afford. I’ll try again to get an accurate link to the leader Board. At this time, we are in second place. Up until last night we were leading until a $5,000 donation was made to one of the other contestants who now leads. But, we know we can do it if we all come together. I liken us as a David vs Goliath and look what happened there. Thank You in advance and we will continue to be posting throughout the contest which ends December 16, 2022. – diana.

P.S. This is One Eye before her surgery; you’d never know there was an issue from the photo but very often photos can be deceiving.
