Baby – Could Not Survive the Ravages of an Upper Respiratory Infection

7/31/17 – RIP Sweet Baby. Our friends, Kelly Hook and Dee Dee, contacted us about 3 kittens they were able to get. They had hundreds of fleas over their entire bodies; their gums were white. Unfortunately, this sweetheart was too far gone to save. The siblings were given flea baths and appear to be doing well. Thank God for the many loving people like Kelly and Dee Dee (and their families) who give up so much of their lives and hearts to save those most vulnerable. ~ dianababy - kelly hook 7:31:17

Frankfort – Rescued Too Late – RIP

7/30/17 – RIP Sweet baby. Our friend, Rachel Gerstner and I were tagged in a posting about this kitten seen lying under a box. Rachel immediately went to get him while I called Advanced Animal Emergency to authorize the medical. Unfortunately, Frankfort, (no one should die without a name) passed away on the ride to the emergency. We don’t know how many people must have passed by this little guy who was only about 8-10 weeks old but we do thank God for those who did care enough to try and get help. Unfortunately, there are far too many of these sweet animals dying and suffering. Thank You, Rachel Gerstner, for caring and giving him love at the end. ~ diana

Sweet Jack – Rescued From the Street With a Severe Eye Issue

7/30/17 – This summer has been overwhelming with the number of dogs and cats needing help. And, not just spay/neuter and vaccines. Serious issues, such as heart worm, upper respiratory infections, limb removals, eye removals. In the past seven years we have helped over 4,000 animals and just because of the “nature of the beast”, we are once again in the position of taking care of an overwhelmingly number of cats. Over the next few days, I will be sharing their stories. This is Sweet Jack. He was rescued by one of the rescue organizations with whom we work. We covered his initial vet visit where it was determined that he has extra tissue under his eye. He will be scheduled to see a specialist and we pray that we will be able to help this sweetheart. ~ dianasweet jack 7:30:17

Karl – One of the 4 Orange Kittens Found Very Ill in a Backyard

7/29/17 – Please say a prayer for Karl. Because he is only 1.3 lbs., a standard veterinary doesn’t have the equipment needed for surgery. We will be trying to get Karl into Veterinary Vision of Rochester ASAP. Thank you to Debra Berolatti for insisting that he be seen again. He is resting comfortably with pain meds. ~ diana

“This is Karl is one of the 4 Orange kitties that I am taking care of . He was just at the vet and unfortunately his eye ruptured. He will be seeing a specialist with in the next day or two. Please say prayers for this poor baby. Thank you 4 paws 1 heart for taking care of his medical expenses and thank you debra for transporting him. This is where your donations are going to help sweet precious animals in need.karl 7:28:17

Jordan – Emaciated, Dehydrated, and a Severe Upper Respiratory Infection

7/28/17 – Prayer Warriors Needed. Two-month old Jordan was rescued by our 4p1h friend, Patricia B. He was very emaciated, dehydrated, and suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection. He was brought to the emergency hospital last night where he was given IV fluids and antibiotics; his prognosis was not good. Patricia, who has a great deal of experience, chose to take Jordan home to either help him live or to let him die in a loving home. This morning Jordon is holding his own and resting comfortably. May God watch over this little one and all of the caring people we have worked with over the years, who never turn their backs. ~ diana

8/22/17 – Jordan has been gaining strength and pounds every day and is doing well.  jordon 7:28:17

Snowball – Rescued With a Large Gash Under His Chin

7/28/17 – Snowball and his brother were rescued during a TNR effort. At only two months old, Snowball had a half-dollar size gash under his chin which was infected and, according to the rescuer, the trachea was visible. We were contacted and approved having Snowball seen by a doctor. After being examined, it was determined that there was infection and it was critical that surgery be done to clean and close the wound otherwise Snowball would die from a progressive infection. But, the doctor stressed that if surgery was done within hours, Snowball would be a healthy, loving kitten. We agreed to the surgery which was done yesterday. The rescuer brought Snowball’s brother to the hospital to keep him Company. The surgery was successful and here you can see Snowball with his brother while recovering. (I did not post the most graphic of the photos of the wound but one can get a sense of the severity by the photos posted). ~ diana

Maggie Lu – Found Wandering the Streets – Flea Infested, Intact, and Both Legs Needing Surgery

7/26/17 – Our 4 Paws 1 Heart family has been unbelievably caring and generous in hearing of the death of my mom. Two days ago I received the following message “Hi Diana, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I hope you can find some comfort at this difficult time. also, my husband and I would like to do a March donation up to $500”.

So, over the next week all donations made up to $500 will be matched by this very caring supporter of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Please help us get to $500 by using the donation link on this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St.Clair Shores, MI 48080. It is only with your donations and support can we continue to help save the lives of the abandoned like Maggie Lu.

Maggie Lu was found not-spayed, horribly flea infested, with long nails, and with both knees needing cranial cruciate surgery. An owner could not be found. Although the rescuer was willing to give Maggie Lu a forever home, she could not afford the medical bills. We were contacted and Monday, Maggie Lu was spayed and had surgery on one leg. The surgery went well and 4 Paws 1 Heart, if money is available, will help Maggie Lu with the surgery on her other leg when the time comes. Here she is when first rescued and a little later before surgery ~ dianaMaggie Lu 5:12:17Maggie Lu w:angela atkinson 6:16:17
