Blizzard – Found in a Garage in Below Freezing Temperatures

12/26/17 – Continued prayers for the abandoned, stray, and abused forced to fend for themselves in these frigid temperatures. Gina was praying for all of the animals who are alone and prayed that she would be called on to save someone — well, God called on her to save two — a dog (Gizmo) and a frozen kitty. Here is the story of Blizzard.
“Blizzard is about 6 months old, and was found in a garage last Wednesday. He was nearly frozen to death. Chances are he became trapped inside the garage unable to access food or water. He was unresponsive and suffering from hypothermia and hypoglycemia. With aggressive care he has stabilized, but he is still very weak. There is nothing to him aside from an emaciated body. He is with me, receiving around-the-clock care consisting of keeping him warm, fed, and hydrated. Food is challenging for him because he is having a hard time swallowing plus he has a little bit of a cold. Small amounts of watered down canned food several times a day is helping. I am confident that he will be ok, but any longer in this condition and he would’ve died in the cold from starvation. Please say prayers for him to grow stronger every day. I will keep you posted. ~ Gina” ~ dianablizzard 12:22:17 blizzard -- 12:2217

“12/25/16 – For those of our friends who celebrate the birth of Christ, we wish you a Blessed Christmas. On this morning I would like to share two happy beginnings. The first is Sonic (now known as Dino). It was in October, 2014 that Sonic was brought into the emergency after being attacked by a dog. Due to his many injuries, Sonic spent several weeks in the hospital, being fed through a tube, almost losing an eye, and later, experiencing, more surgery for his torn mouth. There were times we thought he wouldn’t make it but with Gina’s love and care and the professional staff at the emergency, Little Sonic came through and was adopted by a family who has been close to me for over 50 years. Here he was when he was first brought into the emergency and today, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Because of our supporters, we can make miracles like this happen. ~ diana”

Pumpkin – RIP – Heartbroken That He Couldn’t Be Saved

12/24/17 – I’m sad to report that Pumpkin did not survive. He fought hard but it just wasn’t enough. Our sincere thanks to the loving people who tried saving him. Pumpkin is now in peace, no longer cold and hungry. On this Christmas Eve, please pray for all of the animals wandering the streets alone without shelter and food in the horrific winter cold and snow. RIP Sweet Pumpkin. ~ dianapumpkin===12:22:17

Pumpkin – Found Lifeless in a Backyard

UPDATE: Pumpkin is holding his own but he can’t stand. The doctor is afraid of neurological damage. Please pray that isn’t the case. He will be under observation for another 24 hours. – diana
12/23/17 – Prayer Warriors Needed! This is Pumpkin. Last night I received a message from one of our followers asking if we could help this very sweet baby who was found lying in a Shelby Twp. backyard, lifeless. The person who contacted me and her mom were on their way to an emergency hospital. We, of course, said yes. When they got to the hospital, this poor baby had no temperature. The doctors immediately started providing heat and did blood work. At this time she seems to be stable but may be in the hospital for a few more days. The rescuer believes that Pumpkin was either a pet who had been dumped or a pet who had escaped – in either case, a domesticated cat cannot fend for themselves in the wild. Please also pray for the many animals who are out in the frigid temperatures, fending for themselves. Pumpkin is being placed on For the Love of Louie. Please share and if anyone knows anything or is interested, please contact Christine at: [email protected] ~ dianapumpkin 12:22:17pumpkin---12:22:17pumpkin--12:22:17pumpkin===12:22:17

Reddington, Bart, Himmy, Lucy, Penelope and Polly – All Rescued From the Streets

12/22/17 – In any given day, I can get one to six calls regarding an animal in trouble requiring medical care. In many cases it will just be the ‘usual’ — fleas, vaccines, neuter/spay, parasites, and snap test AND under the best circumstances the cost will be $100 to $150. On the other hand, as many of you have seen this past year, many of the calls I get require more immediate and serious attention and when that happens — you just never know. Here are some of the cats/kittens who we’ve helped but I just didn’t get the chance to post them before. All were rescued by individuals who either kept the kitties or committed to finding them homes. Meet Reddington, Bart, Himmy, Lucy, Penelope, Polly and kittens rescued during trap/neuter/return. Don’t forget that we don’t believe our mission ends with funding medical bills. We also try to help independent rescuers by offering our Petfinder site and our Friends of 4 Paws 1 Heart Facebook Page. So if you are ever looking for that special family member, please remember to check out those sites to find your new best friend. ~ dianareddington w:lauren clinton 10:18:17bart 12:22:17himmy 2017Lucy 10:2:17penelope 8:12:17polly w:janeen costanza 5:5:17

Santa – Found With a Severe Upper Respiratory Infection

12/21/17 – While so many people are out shopping and getting ready for a Merry Christmas, there are caring people braving the bitter cold to save the many animals needing our help. We are so thankful to our supporters for giving us the opportunity to help those rescuers. Lori D. and Megan Blass from Friends of Scooby are two of those people. Lori has been taking care of a cat community and in the process discovered a 12 week old kitten we named Santa, because we didn’t know the gender. Our good friends at Hartrick Veterinary took her in as soon as she was trapped and found that this little girl was under weight, had a low body temperature, a severe upper respiratory infection with both eyes infected. and is not eating at this time. Santa is already looking a little better and we will pray that she has a full recovery and finds her way into a permanent home. ~ dianaSanta 12:20:17Santa 12:20:17 w:lori Dz

Big Chuck – Update

12/20/17 – An update on Big Chuck ~ diana
* Well he was nicknamed the Terminator by the vet 😺 They were able to neuter and vaccinate him, estimated to be about 7 years old and weighed 14 pounds. They didn’t find any wounds, thank goodness! But he does have a severe URI and has been prescribed oral antibiotics. The only way we can safely give him meds right now is mixed in his wet food but he’s not eating anything for us yet. He has been setup in a big cage with a litter box and his food so we can try and get him eating again. We will be taking him to another vet if he doesn’t start eating in the next 24 hours. Thank you to everyone that has donated for this guy, it’s so reassuring to know if he needs more vetting that we have your support big Chuck 12:19:17

Brownie – Found at Only 5 Weeks Old With a Severe Upper Respiratory Infection and Flea Infestation

12/20/17 – At only about 5 weeks old and weighing under 2 pounds, Brownie was rescued by an individual rescuer who seems to attract the abandoned and unwanted. Brownie showed up with an upper respiratory infection and seriously flea infected. She has been seen by the vet and 4 Paws 1 Heart will cover her neuter and vaccines when she is healthy. Hopefully, she will soon be on to her forever home. Anyone interested should contact Amy at: [email protected] ~ diana
