Baseball 8 – RIP Sweet Baby

6/13/15 – Sad news from our good friend, Tami, in regards to the 8 babies she took in a few nights ago. If you will remember, 8 1-2 day old kittens were left in the back of a pick up truck at a softball game. With the phenomenal team work of the truck owner and his friend, Patricia Brown and Tami who stepped up to take everyone in (and 4 Paws 1 Heart who paid for the umbilical cords to be removed), the babies were on their way to a good life. Unfortunately, last night one of the babies, who had been struggling, was taken to our wonderful friends at the Advanced Animal Emergency. After speaking with Dr. Lutz, it was decided to humanely euthanize. Here is Tami’s report. RIP sweet baby. ~ diana

“We lost a baby tonight:(
The runt of the litter had been tough to feed every feeding, but she had seemed to perk up this morning. RIP little girl, you tried as hard as you could. Please pray this is not a virus or nasty parasite. Four days old without momma isn’t an easy road. Thank you. ~ Foster Mom, Tami”

Molly and McGee – Joined at the Hip

6/11/15 – Molly and McGee have become inseparable. We have no idea when they came together — we only know that they spent a number of weeks in the same cage at the Humane Society of Macomb, waiting to be euthanized. Molly lost nine babies and after having a few medical issues associated with her lack of care, she tested positive for leukemia. We thought we would have to humanely euthanize Molly if we couldn’t find a place for her to go but guess what?? A wonderful caring family, very familiar with the disease and caring for rescue cats have stepped up and they may be taking both Molly and McGee. They have no other cats and are hoping they can give Molly a great life in her final years. We will also be re-testing Molly in 30 days in that there might be some issues as to when she might have been exposed to the virus. The family will be meeting Molly and McGee on Saturday. Please cross all paws and say a little prayer. Thanks! ~ dianamolly:mcgee6:11:15

The Baseball 8 – Left in the Back of a Truck During a Baseball Game

6/10/15 – So last night, close to midnight, I got an urgent text. Eight 1 day old kittens were at Wilson Veterinary and they needed someone to pay for their medical. I had no idea what was going on but I called Wilson’s and ok’d it. This morning I saw this is what started the flurry of trying to save 8 little lives. Our friend Michelle from A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue posted this to our volunteers page:

“URGENT! Just got a call. My neighbor is at a softball game and her teammate went to his truck and there was a box dumped in the back with day old kittens. Looks like the umbilical cord is still attached……”

The wonderful group of people on our closed group page jumped into action, got the kittens to Wilson’s to have the umbilical cords removed and then got all eight of them into the loving hands of our friend Tami who is now missing hours of sleep while she bottle feeds them around the clock. So often we focus on the monsters like the person who dumped these babies into the back of a truck and probably stole them from their mom. But, then we have to focus on all of the caring, wonderful people who come together because they share a passion for life. Thank You to everyone who made this happen. Here are the babies, now known as the Baseball 8 ~ diana

Kittens – Found in a Ditch – Now Safe and Loved

6/8/15 – Thank You, Kara, for not turning your back. It is a happy ending like this that makes all of the work worthwhile. ~ diana

“These babies were found abandoned in a ditch around 7 weeks old. Some of them had upper respiratory infections, I had to get them help so I got ahold of Four Paws One Heart. They helped me to get them to the vet for the help that they needed. 4 paws 1 heart helped with spaying and neutering, and vaccinations also. I’m so thankful for this rescue in helping me with these babies! They are all in great homes and are happy and healthy babies now! Thank you to 4 Paws 1 Heart ~ Kara”ditchbabiesw:karabailey6:7:15

Smokey Needs His Forever Home

Reaching out for help here. I have a cat named Smokey that needs to be rehomed or at best for now someone to foster him until he can be adopted. Smokey is 14 months old, an absolutely fabulous boy, neutered, UTD on shots and was front declawed, which broke my heart as he was orginally one of my babies from last year before I got involved with 4P1H. He is actually more like a dog, lol, trained to do tricks even. Long story short, His Daddy Ryan did not have him declawed, his girlfriend did and in the end the relationship ended. Ryan is moving to the West Coast for a new job which will keep him on the road for days at a time, and can only afford a flat. No room for Smokey and Ryan is broken hearted and reached out to me for help. Smokey needs a foster asap as Ryan is leaving by the 20th of this month. Here are some pics, if anyone has room for one fabulous kitty (I am overloaded here) please let me know. PS…he does well with children.
