Fire Department in a nearby city called the clinic tonight. They saved this dog “Tito”, from a house fire, but paramedics were working on his poor owner. We are uncertain if his owner survived the fire, and firemen had no where for the pup to go.. Jenn Fecht and her husband Nick dropped everything to transport this pup to the ER vet. 4 paws 1 heart didn’t have to hospitalize, so I took him home to love on him until if and when a family member contacts us. He was terrified more than anything, but has since warmed up and is doing great with the crazy mix here at the Gina Inn! . . Gina

Emmy from Loveabull Paws Animal Rescue
Thank you to our supporters who allow us to not only care for abandoned and abused animals who come in through the Emergency but to also help our rescue friends with the many abandoned and abused who they take in. This is Emmy from Loveabull Paws Animal Rescue. Like so many dogs being taken in lately she has a severe skin condition. We are very thankful to be able to make a small dent in their significant medical bills. ~ diana

Duke Saying Goodbye to Gina

— with Maddy Gage Lutz.
From the Mutts of Motown
11/1/13 From our very good friends at Mutts of Motown:
“Thank you to 4 Paws 1 Heart for contributing to our enormous vet bill. The month of October was pretty expensive for our little rescue!! These are just two of the dogs we helped last month and trust me they’re all so worthwhile!! Tinkerbell is a teacup chihuahua who was found on the streets of Detroit by a nice rescuer and brought to us. Tests indicate she has permanent hair loss due to something called alopecia and is quite old. She’ll be needing a lot of teeth pulled as soon as she’s healthy enough too. Our big puppy, Buford, came to us with a major dent in his head. Our vet doubts this was any type of accident and thinks it looks to be done by a tool such as a hammer or shovel. Buford was treated for mange, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and thoroughly checked for brain damage. He’ll be neutered soon as his weight is much better. His emergency foster family told us recently they plan to adopt him. In each case we were full, and short on funding. Our rescue operates on love for our mutts most of the time. We have many seniors who are probably not going to be adopted, but are loved and happy in their foster homes. Our rescue is about these forgotten, mistreated, and lost sweethearts. We are so thrilled to have the support of 4 Paws 1 Heart and are grateful to be associated with such a great organization. Without you and others like you, we would not survive nor could we support the needs of the next bald chihuahua or dog with severe head injury.
Thank you, with love,
The Mutts of Motown

Carson Coupon Book Sales
10/27/13 – A huge thank you to our Board members, Darlene and Melissa, and Hercules’ mom and dad, Chris and Tari for joining me in selling the Carson’s coupon books yesterday. Understandably, Roscoe and Hercules attracted much attention which resulted in us selling 43 books and bringing much awareness to 4 Paws 1 Heart!! Their fur brothers and sisters are very proud of them. ~ diana
Come to Carson’s Tommorrow at Partridge Creek

PLUS, I get to see them again and lots of kids too at People, Pets & Vets next Saturday (11/2/13) at Macomb Community College, Garfield/M-59 campus, Building E from 11am to 3pm. It’s a great event to learn about animals and animal care. Come check it out and say hi! Please DON’T bring personal pets though…there are plenty of animals there to meet already!
Meet Duke
10/23/13 – MEET DUKE — This handsome, sweet boy is 15 weeks old, his owner accidentally ran him over with his car. Duke suffered injuries to his chest and he suffered injuries to his right rear leg that was broken very badly. His injury will require amputation surgery which we would like to get done as soon as possible because he is in a lot of pain. Since Duke is going to be a large breed dog and he has a lot of growing to do he will need a special home; one where they will be conscious of his weight. He would also benefit from some hydro- therapy post operatively. Without our financial assistance this puppy would not have gotten a second chance because the owner chose not to keep him due to the injuries. Duke will have his surgery tomorrow morning with Dr. Balaj. Prayers and financial help for his surgery and therapy is much appreciated. ~ Gina
10/24/2013 – DUKE: Duke was transported to a specialist last night by our good friend, Michelle, of A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue. The doctors want to wait until Duke’s injuries heal a little more before doing any exploratory surgery to determine what might be the next course of action with his leg. They think they can do this tomorrow. We will surely keep everyone updated. Again, prayers and positive energy are always helpful.
