Roxy – At No Fault of Her Own, She Has Been Bounced Around Most of Her Life

5/24/18 – Roxy’s sad but happy ending story:
Roxy was adopted from a shelter when she was 2 and lived with her previous owner for 5 years until he became homeless. She then lived behind a dumpster for 2 months until someone discovered them. Roxy then was taken to the local animal shelter; they put a hold on her for 2 months to allow the owner time to take her back. The owner then pulled her and stayed in a motel until he ran out of money. A person who knew the owner’s case manager offered to hold her until the owner got housing. Roxy and her dog didn’t get along and the case manager lost contact with the owner. It was determined that the owner was incapable of taking care of her. She was posted on the All Things Livonia page and15 rescues were contacted in hopes of finding someone to re-home her. But then, Kate was found and she was happy to give this very sweet dog a home. Kate was told that Roxy was spayed but she had a large hernia that wasn’t a threat to her health. Her new mom brought her to a vet where it was determined that she actually wasn’t spayed and she had multiple masses on her mammary glands. That is when 4 Paws 1 Heart was contacted. We were happy to help Roxy (who was 40 lbs when taken in) and agreed to pay for her surgery. The good news is that Roxy’s masses are gone and she is CANCER FREE. Roxy is now 60 lbs. and is doing great. ~ dianaRoxy 5:24:18Roxy--5:24:18

Graham – Found on the Streets

5/17/18 – Graham was found as a stray and his owner was never found. He was brought into rescue when they were asked for help. The rescue paid for his vaccines and heart worm test but, unfortunately, the test was positive. This rescue has had at least 12 heart worm positive dogs in the last 12 months. 4 Paws 1 Heart has experienced the same.

Graham is still a bit under weight and he has a wonderful temperament. 4 Paws 1 Heart has paid for Graham’s heart worm treatment and anyone interested in giving Graham a forever home should contact StreetHearts Animal Rescue. _ dianagraham 5:18:18graham -- 5:18:18

Kuz – Struggling Through Many Health Issues and Now Heart Worm

5/14/18 – Prayers for Kuz as he gets ready to start his heart worm treatment. We are thankful to our many rescue friends, veterinarians, and supporters who make a difference in the lives of the abandoned and abused. ~ diana

“A little over a month ago we found out this guy had a slew of health problems and heartworms to top it all off. Diana and 4 Paws 1 Heart are his saving grace. They are sponsoring the heartworm treatment. He had bloodwork and started doxycycline to begin treatment. He was started on milk thistle and cranberry for his liver and kidneys. And he was sent up north to be cared for.
Today he had the staging done and more bloodwork. His bloodwork looked good (greatly improved) and he will start the shots on Monday.
Thank you Linda for being his caregiver and making sure he gets to his appointments.
Thank you Diana & 4 Paws 1 Heart 💗~ Megan”

Ruby – Found Covered With Scabs; One Half of Her Ear Was Missing

5/13/18 – Happy Mother’s Day from Ruby! Ruby was found wandering the streets. She was covered with scabs, one half of her ear was missing, and she was scrawny and malnourished. Ruby had a collar on that was so tight it was imbedded in her neck. Her feet were flat from spending her puppy life in a cage. It took several months for Ruby to no longer be afraid and to get healthy but here she is when she was first rescued and now with an update from our partners at Friends ofScooby. Working together is the only way we can make a difference. ~ Diana
“One more update for everyone! Rubyyyyy!
I paid for her shots and mange treatment.
Diana & 4 Paws 1 Heart paid for her spay.
A few months later she was adopted by an amazing family up north! I get an update on her every 6-8 weeks. She has made some amazing changes from the dog i first met. ~ Megan”

Bunny – Bounced Around; Heart Worm Positive

5/11/18 – Bunny was heart worm positive, full of parasites, and acted as if she never had one-on-one love. I took her in to foster her for several weeks and 4 paws 1 heart offered to cover her medical care. She has started the beginning treatment for heart worm and she is now with 313 K9 and Kitty Rescue. She is looking for a more permanent foster situation or a home while she undergoes her treatment. Please consider making a donation towards her care.
Bunny was found on the street, had a stay in boarding, then transferred to my house, and then transported to her foster family and then on to the next temporary foster situation, and now she is looking for another foster or permanent home. This poor dog has been bounced around so much in such a short period of time, I would love to hear of someone being interested in giving her a forever home! She is an amazing dog! I have fostered many dogs and there are only a few that I have considered keeping. She is one of them. Please contact the rescue group if you are interested in finding out more information or in meeting her. They sent me a photo of her with an adult cat, so apparently she gets along with felines. ~ Ginabunny 5:11:18 w:ginaBunny w:Gina 5:11:18

Anna Belle – Found in the Middle of the Street; Heart Worm Positive

5/10/18 – Don’t forget–your donations will be doubled this week!
This is Anna Belle. We received a call for help and because of our supporters we were able to respond.
She was seen in the middle of major roads and after 3 days of trying, she was finally safe, in the ‘arms’ of the rescuer. She was brought to a veterinary clinic where they advised she was heart worm positive. Unfortunately, no owner was found and although the rescuer was anxious to give her a forever family, they could not afford the heart worm treatment. We were happy to make that happen. Here is the rescuer’s most recent message:

“Isn’t she a beautiful Girl , So sweet and good .
I want to Thank you and your company for all you do .
My family’s heart go out to u.
She reminds me of my pure breed German Shepherd. Anna Bell has the same eyes and sweet demeanor
Thanks again Diana . God bless you .

5/3/18 – Major is an eleven-month old who was an owner surrender. He was staying with a family member while the owners were transitioning between States and then the family member threatened to take him to the shelter if they did not get him out ASAP. According to his rescuer, he is a big beautiful dog. 4 Paws 1 Heart will be taking care of his neuter so he will be ready for a new forever home. We wish Major the very best! ~ diana
