4/21/18 – Tiny Timber update ♡
Once again your healing prayers have helped, and this little pup is walking!! He is still pretty unsteady, but he is making huge strides. We will probably never know the reason for his neurological episode, but we suspect an injury or virus. Please keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming. We are continuing medications and I’ll update again soon!

Tiny Timber – Unable to Walk and Surrendered to 4 Paws 1 Heart
4/20/18 – Tiny Timber needs a miracle.. Please keep this little boy in your prayers today. He cannot walk and we don’t know why. Could be trauma, could be congenital, might be toxin, brain, or disease. All we know is that something is very wrong with him, BUT within 24 hours he has made some Improvement. He was hospitalized overnight and now he is home with me on oral medications. I do believe in the power of Prayer and today I’m asking our 4 paws 1 ♡ supporters to think of this little guy and wish him a full recovery. Thank you so much! Gina
Pamela – Found on the Streets with Masses Seen Near Her Lungs and Abdomen
4/18/18 – Pamela is a senior girl who was found wandering the streets of a nearby city. We were asked to cover her vetting before a rescue took over. Pamela was seen yesterday and x-rays showed possible masses near her lungs and stomach; she tested negative for heart worm. The rescue will follow up with their vet and make a decision about surgery or hospice care at that time. Prayers for all of these abandoned and abused animals are always welcome. ~ diana
Ellie – Update After Her Leg Amputation
Update on “Ellie”. She was initially found as a stray with a badly broken leg. We took her in under 4 Paws 1 heart to cover her medical care and give her the chance she would not have had. We decided amputation was the best option because this was an old injury that had already begun healing. Her surgery was done last Wednesday by our friends over at Patterson Veterinary Hospital. Ellie was also fixed and given her final vaccines. She’s a very sweet girl with a whole lot of energy and three legs has not stopped her or slowed her down. In fact, keeping her activity down so that she can heal has been quite the challenge. In about 2 weeks, Ellie will be going to a rescue group where we hope she will find a wonderful forever home! If you would like to help donate towards her amputation surgery we would greatly appreciate any assistance. As all of you know, the money goes out much faster than it comes in and without your help we could not continue to give animals like Ellie a chance at a forever home. ♡
Mia – Used For Breeding Until She Was Five; Then Dumped
4/16/18 – She was chained and used for breeding until she had her last litter of sick puppies when she was 5 years old. She was given up because she was too old to further breed. The rescuer found homes for the puppies and on Friday, Mia was seen for an eyelid tumor. She is scheduled for surgery complements of 4 Paws 1 Heart. Say a little prayer for this very abused girl.
Collages – Some of the Animals Helped Between February 22 and April 4, 2018
4/14/18 – The other evening I had to make a presentation about the animals we helped between February 22 and April 4. The total medical cost for these sweeties came out to approximately $10,000. A number of these cases involved amputations, heart worm treatment or other serious injuries; a couple of these sweeties crossed the Rainbow Bridge but not without us trying and being surrounded by love. I also spoke of the number of animals not born because, where appropriate, every animal was spayed/neutered. It is this time of the year when we are again reminded of the importance of stopping the overwhelming number of kittens from being born. If you want to learn more about the animals shown, please go to our website:4paws1heart.org and search using the animals name. Your donations make a difference~ diana

Sky – Found in the Middle of the Road; Emaciated and Hungry
4/12/18 – I recently received the following e mail from the kind man who saved Rhue (see his story on our website 4paws1heart.org) after he was seen being dumped in a parking lot by two people.
“I was driving down the road and saw this little white pitbull in the middle of the road, just sitting there. I put the truck in park and I approached the dog. I could tell that she was really thin and hungry. As I got up close to her, I saw she had a collar on that was about 3 weeks to small–I couldn’t even get my finger underneath it, so, again, I brought another dog home. I don’t know why this happens to me but I was determined to save him. I cut the collar off his neck and gave him a bath. I’m not sure if you guys are able to help out with the medical attention. I plan to adopt Sky out to my daughter after I train him for her and she’ll have a really good Pitbull. I thank you so much for helping more than ever it warmed my heart in a world that’s heartless…. its a true blessing to have people like me and you; together we may change the world. God bless. – Craig”
In later conversation, I learned that the rescuer must travel through the area where Rhue and Sky were found and he believes that Sky was another ‘dumped’ animal. An owner never came forth. We were happy to support Sky and are very thankful for people like Craig. Here is a photo of Sky when first found almost 3 weeks ago and now with a nice full belly and with her new buddy, Rhue. ~ Diana
Bunny II – She Was Found Abandoned in a Home and Tested Positive for the Parvo Virus
4/11/18 – This little pup, about 10 weeks old, was found abandoned in a home the day before Easter. A good friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart, Veterinary Technician Amanda, immediately stepped up to foster her, and the rescue group, A Rejoyceful Animal Rescue, plans to find her a forever home. While we were taking care of her medical needs, she tested positive for the Parvo Virus and was immediately hospitalized. After 4 days in the hospital getting supportive care, Bunny, will be going home with her foster mom and will continue to get medical care there. As all of us humans know, it is better to be home than in the hospital.
This has been a very busy and expensive week for 4 Paws 1 Heart with three emergency cases and “just the business as usual”. Your financial support is always very much appreciated. Donations can be made through paypal by using the ‘donate’ link on the left side of this page or by mail at P.O. Box 84, St. Clair Shores, MI 48080. _ diana
Poppy – Locked in an Attic and Tested Positive for Heart Worm
4/11/18 – Poppy was locked in an attic and broke out a window to escape. Fortunately, a kind man rescued her and took her to the vet where it was found she had a wound on her paw pad and a nail was missing; she also tested positive for heart worm. We were happy to help this very sweet girl have a second chance at life. Poppy is now heart worm free and she is getting spayed today. Wishing this no-longer abused girl much happiness in a forever home. (Here is Poppy now and when she was rescued). ~ diana
Cuz and Angel – They Were Chained Dogs; Angel’s Ear is Infected and Cuz has Heart Worm
4/3/18 – Cuz and Angel had been ‘chained’ dogs. Our friend Megan of Friends of Scooby, contacted us to ask if we could pay for vetting (spay/neuter, vaccines, heart worm test) both dogs, one of whom — Angel — seemed to have an ear issue. We were happy to help but we were sad to learn that Cuz has heart worm and Angel has an ear infection. Angel and Cuz have both been spayed/neutered. Angel is being treated for the ear infection and Cuz has started his 30-day pre-heart worm treatment. We are praying that Cuz’s heart worm is not severe but we will follow through to his recovery. ~ diana
