Ginger Undergoes Surgery for Her Bullet Wound

4/3/15 – ginger4:3:15Ginger had surgery to remove as many bullet fragments as possible surrounding the hock area of her rear leg. The fact that Ginger is heartworm positive made me beyond nervous. Dr. Graves did an awesome job on surgery and Ginger is healing…but in a lot of pain. She was sent home on a few different meds to help keep her comfortable. Towards the end of surgery Ginger became less stable, so we had to wake her up. We will have her rechecked on Saturday and go from there.. Still a very long road for Ginger, but she deserves a chance. I wish we could help them all.. Gina

Happy Birthday Dinah

4/2/15 – It seems like only yesterday, yet it was 3 years ago that I saw the story of Dinah with the deformed arm. Jenna was a foster failure and here is her heartfelt ‘happy birthday’ message for our sweet girl to those of us who played a role in her life. ~ diana

“Pretty deep soulful brown eyes, beautiful little girly face and the most adorable tiny foot you could imagine…not to mention she’s the sweetest, loving, snuggly, funny, well mannered dog I’ve ever had. She has more personality than she knows what to do with and she looooves her Daddy more than anything. This is our Dinah, and I don’t know what I would do without her. Thank you Diana Rascano of 4Paws 1Heart and Lori Jobak of 4Paws Health and Wellness for joining her journey three years ago this month and helping her to become the happy, healthy, active girl she is today. She loves life and has gotten me through some of the most difficult parts of my own. Not only have you given her the ability to live a completely normal life despite her significant disability, but in doing that you have also given our family the gift of all the joy she brings to us everyday…she loves her Auntie’s and we love you too! Happy Birthday/gotcha week Tiny Wing! ~ Jenna”dinahdinah4:2:15

Dumping of Puppy Mill Dogs in Warren, Michigan

The dumping of what appears to be puppy mill dogs continues in Warren. Please share and let’s try to get the sub-humans doing this. Also, let’s start breaking down the doors of our legislators to stop the horror of puppy mills, to enact legislation that gives domestic animals some stature other than property in our laws, to identify the domestic feline in our laws, and enactLogan’s Law. Thank You NBS Animal Rescue and Silver Lake Animal Rescue. ~ dianadumpeddogs:nbs

Ginger – Undergoes Surgery for Her Gunshot Wound

4/2/15 All of our friends know that we absolutely believe in prayer and positive energy. We need that from everyone today. Our little Ginger will undergo surgery at 3:00 pm today to remove the remaining fragments of the bullet in her leg due to the high probability of a serious infection. Although every precaution has been taken (and Gina will be there – on her own time), there is always a concern with a heart worm patient. Please pray and send your positive thoughts to our sweet girl as she begins her journey to full recovery.~ dianaginger4:2:15

Mom and Babies Thrown Outside When Owners are Evicted

4/2/15 – When it rains it pours and Spring is just beginning. Please do whatever you can to educate those you know about the importance of spaying/neutering and the fact that there are low cost options. Here is the mom with the five babies thrown outside when the owners were evicted. It was originally thought that the kittens were 1-week old but their eyes are open, so they may be a little older. Unfortunately, 9 other ‘adults’ (they can be anywhere from one year old to …..)were dumped at the same time. PLEASE SHARE and if anyone can help by fostering this family or any of the adults, please contact Jo Addington, [email protected]. The little family has shelter only for a short time. ~ diana

Sky – Almost Attacked by Two Large Dogs While Others Stood By and Encouraged It

4/2/15 – sky4:2:15Her new name is “Sky”.. Last night she was saved when a good Samaritan witnessed 2 large dogs about to attack her. The owners of the dog’s were encouraging the attack. This 30# puppy tried to escape under a fence…frightened to death. A very brave animal lover who heard the commotion stepped in to help and took this beautiful girl away. She was brave and stood up to the guys who had every intention to hurt this puppy. The lady literally saved this puppy. We offered to help take over because she couldn’t hold on to the pup. She is now ours unless an owner is found. Her body is filthy, ears infected, skin is full of sores, old bite wounds on both ears, etc.. Estimated age 5 months. We will update more soon.. Gina

Chance – Paralyzed from a Traumatic Event

4/1/15  Chance will be seeing Dr. Tari Kern of Pawsitive Steps Rehabilitation & Therapy for Pets next week to determine if some other kind of treatment might be able to help this sweetheart walk again. Here’s a note from his foster mom, Dee. ~ diana

“My foster Chance ♡ Taken under the loving wing of 4 Paws 1 Heart while we try to figure out why his back legs became paralyzed a few days after being neutered while in a high kill shelter. Please continue to donate to 4 Paws 1 Heart so sweet babies like this boy can continue to get the CHANCE they so deserve! All lives matter. ~ Mama Dee”chance3:30

Rescued from a Hoarder’s Home

4/1/15 – Meet the last of the moms and their kittens taken in by Futures 4 Felines after they were rescued by A Hopeful Heart and medically treated with funds from 4 Paws 1 Heart. They were in the hoarder home in Warren, MI and were some of the most critically ill removed from the house. They have all been named after the cast of Laverne and Shirley (old tv sitcom for all of you younger friends). These babies are still having upper respiratory issues but they are with a great rescue who is closely watching their health. 4 Paws 1 Heart has offered to assist with future needs if dollars are available. ~ diana
