Kittens – Spaying and Neutering is the Only Answer

We are thankful that we can support all of the caring people who don’t turn their backs on those who need us. Here’s a note from her rescuer.  diana

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give a HUGE heartfelt thank you to Diana and to 4 paws 1 heart. After seeing a post on another website of kittens in urgent need of a foster and medical care, I decided to try and help out. After meeting the woman who had got the kittens from the Lapeer farm at Wilsons vet In Romeo, It was determined that the kittens were so sick and needed to stay for medical treatment and further evaluation. Kittens had low blood sugars, worms and were extremely frail. After a lot of love and care kittens were tested and came up positive for Feline Leukemia (could be a false positive) however due to me having a cat at home I unfortunately could not at that point bring them to my home. I found a foster through all you wonderful people to take them on Monday. The vet bill was quite high and 4 paws and Diana were so generous to step in and help out. I cannot say thank you enough for helping me save these babies. They are currently with me at my parents until their new foster can bring them to her home. Here they are below on the path to healthiness and happiness. Thank you so much again and god bless you all for what you do! ~ Sarah”saraholejarcyzk5:23:15

Princess Buttons – Blood Poisoned After Swallowing a Metal Button

PLEASE HELP….PLEASE SHARE…
We need some serious prayers for this 7 month old puppy who is fighting hard to survive. She was surrendered to our organization on Tuesday night in order to receive medical care as opposed to humane euthanasia. We are doing everything possible to save her life. She ingested an unknown type of metal which resulted in her requiring an emergency blood transfusion. She then needed emergency surgery to remove the object once she was stable, and now she needs to be able to walk again. A button with corrosive material was removed from her stomach. Dr Maria is doing everything humanly possible to get answers for this baby girl. She has consulted with 3 other doctors and she has Princess on everything possible. We just want to get her walking again!! A Toxicologist from Michigan State was kind enough to spend time on the phone with me this morning, and he mentioned this might be lead poisoning throughout her bloodstream. The button was sent to Michigan State for a metal-analysis and her blood is being sent for screening. We probably won’t have answers until at least middle of next week because of the holiday and the weekend. In the meantime, we really need your prayers, and we need any donations that you can afford to help towards her treatment. Thank you, Gina. 5/22/15

Kittens, Kittens, and More Kittens – Fosters and Adopters Needed

5/22/15 – Once again, we are authorizing medical treatment for more cats and kittens than I can possibly keep up with. I am very sincere when I say, Thank God for all of the loving people who don’t turn their backs on these innocents. For every kitten/cat who comes under our care, there will be hundreds (if not thousands) of animals who will go unborn because every animal will eventually be neutered/spayed. PLEASE if you are interested in fostering, contact [email protected]. Every day the rescues and our organization receive dozens of calls regarding found cats and kittens needing not only our medical help but homes. If you can’t foster, PLEASE consider donating. For some reason, donations always seem to be slow this time of the year, yet the need is greater. Thank You!! ~ dianapat dimaggiolitter5:18:15

Angelo – Found Under a Car on the Top of His Dead Sibling

5/22/15 – Prayers for little Angelo. He was found on the street, laying on top of his dead sibling. A caring Madison Heights Animal Control Officer started making phone calls and, fortunately, Jennell Foster, once again, opened her heart and home. Concerned that his breathing was sounding difficult, Jennell, brought him to our dedicated friends at the Advanced Animal Emergency last night. It is always touch and go with babies this little who have lost their moms. ~ diana

A Message from his foster mom, Jennell:  “Good night from me & our newest addition to our 4 Paws 1 Heart. We had quite the exciting & exhausting day & night. It turns out Angie is Angelo, he’s already 8.6 ounces. Thanks go out to all the prayers, keep them coming. And a big, huge thanks to Diana Rascano of 4Paws1Heart for helping the baby!! We are taking a nap between 3 hour feedings. God bless all of you!!”

Coco – Graduate of the Iona Inmate Prison Program – Needs a Forever Home

CoCo is a 6 month old Aussie/Jack Russel, 32#, great personality, athletic, and she needs a forever home. We took her in a few months ago because she was going to be euthanized. Her previous family didn’t want to put her down, but at the time they felt they had no other option. A friend of 4 paws 1 heart led us to a wonderful group, “The Australian Shepherd Rescue in Michigan”. They took CoCo in and she was placed in the Ionia Inmate Prison program, for inmates and dogs. She just completed the program with flying colors and she’s in need of a good home. Here she is now,and if you would like more information please contact the rescue group. Princess Piggles – Then and Now

Here are the before and after pictures of “Princess Piggles”. Several months ago we had a cluster of horrible rain storms, and this little 2 week old orphan baby surfaced during the floods, a very kind DTE worker brought her to the emergency hospital. I hand-raised her until she was strong enough to go into a potential home. Initially she tested positive for FIV. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is like feline AIDS. At 6 months old she tested negative. Her new mommy recently sent these updated pictures and I wanted to share them with everyone. Gina  5/21/15

SKY – Almost Killed By Two Large Dogs – Now Enjoying Life.

5/21/15 – skye5:21:15Do you remember Sky the puppy who was found in horrible condition and nearly killed by 2 owned large breed dogs? A very kind woman took a huge risk after witnessing this abuse, and we stepped in to help. Sky came to us with a horrible skin condition, hernia, infection, much needed medical care, and all the normal stuff puppies require. Earily on, we found a wonderful foster family to take her in while we provide the medical care she needed. They have been outstanding when it comes to following through with all of her extensive medical needs. The foster family has fallen in love and they are officially foster failures. ♡ They would like to make Sky aka now Zoey, a permanent member of their home and we definitely approve!! Here she is now cute as ever! Gina

ODIN – Hit By A Car and Temporarily Paralyzed

5/19/15 The Board of 4 Paws 1 Heart would like to welcome Dr. Pamela Graves to the Animal Urgent and Critical Care Center as our new emergency doctor. She will be a wonderful addition to the AUCCC staff and the community. She and Dr. Maria provide emergency care to animals in the surrounding cities in Macomb and Wayne counties. Dr. Graves has already assisted in helping with more than a handful of our 4 Paws 1 Heart animals and I think she will be a wonderful asset to our organization. I feel that we are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Balaj, Dr. Maria, Dr. Pillsbury, and now Dr Graves involved in our cases because they are all highly skilled and compassionate doctors. Here is Odin with Dr. Graves and with his new harness that Dr Graves bought for him. Odin came to us unable to walk due to trauma to his spine. He has received some physical therapy, laser therapy, and acupuncture. Now he can walk, run, jump, and play. He is still in need of a permanent home and he is just the most lovable dog! Odin gets along with other dogs and he gets along with my cat. He loves to give kisses and absolutely loves to snuggle. If you would like more information about him please email me. at [email protected]

BEN – Saved Before Being Left at a High-Kill Shelter

5/18//15 – HELP! This very handsome boy, BEN, is in critical need of a home to call his own. His days are spent in a kennel because his foster mom is at her limit, especially while she continues to care for Molly who is now hospitalized (details later). It was never intended that Ben would be with the foster for more than a day but…. Ben is neutered and front declawed; he was found wandering the streets all alone. 4 Paws 1 Heard paid for his visit to the veterinarian. He weighs 12 pounds and has tested negative for FIV/FELV. Patricia, foster mom, says Ben just wants to be loved and just wants attention. Patricia’s cats like to keep him company while he is in the kennel. If you would like to help Ben, please contact Patricia at [email protected] ~ dianaben 5:18:15 ben5:18:15
