Peanut – Found with a Broken Paw

7/14/16 – So many domesticated kittens/cats have been found by our friends conducting TNR (trap/neuter/release). I probably have a good 30-40 kittens/cats (just in the past couple of months) where we have paid to have them either spayed/neutered and returned to the wild or spayed/neutered/vetted in order to find adoptable homes. With the many serious cases we’ve had, I haven’t even been able to tell you about them yet.

This is Peanut! This little baby was one of the last of a litter found under a mobile home. He had an upper respiratory infection and also a paw that was limp. Peanut was taken to the vet and it was determined that Peanut’s paw was probably injured a little while back. The doctor could see many little bones that appeared to be broken in the wrist area but the bones had already fused together. There was nothing that could be done for the little guy. Based on callouses seen on parts of the paw, it was obvious that he had been using the top part of the paw as opposed to the bottom. He didn’t appear to be in pain. The doctor gave him medicine and suggested that some day he may require an amputation but at his present age, it was just too early to make that determination.

Little Peanut is in a foster home and if anyone is interested in adopting this baby, please contact Jo at [email protected]. 4 Paws 1 Heart will ensure he is neutered and vaccinated before adoption. ~ diana

Duchess – Near Death Due to a Bladder Blockage

7/13/16 – Meet Duchess. She found her way onto the porch of a friend of 4 Paws 1 Heart. After a short while, it became obvious that she had serious problems urinating. She was taken to a vet and was found to have a stone blocking her bladder function. We were contacted by the rescuer and agreed to save Duchess’ life by paying for her surgery. Duchess is doing great after the surgery. ~ diana

Cookie – Still Looking for Her Forever Home

Cookie patiently waits by the phone for her new forever family to make that call. If you know someone that could give this loving sweet girl a forever home to call her own please email me. She is about 6 years old and would do best in a home with dogs her size or no dogs. Cookie is a lap dog. Her family dumped her a few months ago in a school parking lot. [email protected]
