Mama – After Months After Wandering With A Prolapsed Uterus – RIP Sweet Baby

10/11/16 – RIP Sweet Mama: This poor female had, what we think, is a litter of 2 kittens two months ago. Unfortunately, she had a prolapsed uterus resulting from the birth and has been like that since. We were contacted by a caring person who was trying to catch her so that we could get her into a veterinary. With the help of our friend, Rachel G., she was trapped today and brought to one of our trusted doctors at Patterson Veterinary. It was bad news for Mama though. It was feared that she already had infections from the length of time she had been wandering the streets with the prolapsed uterus and her prognosis was very poor and even if she made it through surgery and anything else that cropped up, there was no guarantee that she could be adoptable. It was determined that the best course of action for her was humane euthanasia. Our heart breaks for all of the innocents out on the streets who so very often become sick or die because they continue to have babies. Our heart also breaks for the kind people like her rescuers who are relentless and do everything they can to save a life. The good news through all of this is that, thus far, two 8-week old kittens have been trapped and taken to the vet while the rescuers were trying to trap Mama. Please share the importance of not turning your back on those who need us. Mama was one of the special cases I’ve referred to in the past where no matter how little money we have, we will never let an animal suffer because of a lack of funds. We will always figure out something!

I am beyond ecstatic (but sad) that 2 of my fosters got adopted! Together! Cheech and Velma (now known as Cleo) are going to love life with their new mommy! These 2 were born feral and were semi feral when I got them. Cleo was always skittish…but not whenBetty Young (new mom) came for the meet and greet – Cleo loved her! Cleo knows good people. So thank you 4 Paws 1 Heart for taking care of their vetting so they could have their happily ever after! You will never have to live outside again babies! Thank you Ms. Betty for opening up your home and heart to them.

Cookie – Before

10/8/16 – Diana just posted the update of Cookie in her new forever home. I just wanted to share these before pics from 7 months ago when Cookie was dropped off at the emergency. In a very bad area of Detroit her family tried dumping her in a school parking lot, but when she followed them to a nearby relatives and wouldn’t leave the porch for 3 weeks, they decided to bring her to the clinic. That is when 4 paws 1 heart took her as a surrender and she spent several months with me.. She was injured and couldn’t walk. She had a big bruise, she wasn’t fixed, vaccinated, or dewormed. We had her on all kinds of medication to help with the trauma to her neck and back. She was miserable for several weeks. I’ll also post her new family because there is nothing more rewarding than a happy ending like this one. ♡ Gina

Cookie – Living in Paradise

10/8/16 – Once again 4 Paws 1 Heart will have to suspend medical assistance until we can improve our bank account balance. Unfortunately, the need never seems to end and as long as we have the money, we want to be there for the animal.

While we are waiting to build up our funds with some upcoming fundraisers, I will be reporting on the animals we have been helping up until the suspension. If you can donate, your support will be much appreciated. The donate link is on this page.

In the mean time, on this beautiful Saturday morning in southeast Michigan, I want to give you an update on our girl, Cookie (now Lucy). She is now with her new, loving parents and living like a princess should.

Ali – Post Surgery

10/5/16 Thank you all for the prayers and donations thus far. We are still looking to raise $800.00, but I’m happy to report Ali is home and resting from the double operation he had yesterday. Dr. Stanley and her team from Michigan State Veterinary Hospital are beyond fantastic! They did reconstructive surgery on the scar tissue to release the tension and they did a paw pad transplant on the opposite rear paw. It will take one month of recovery. All of this was caused from an injury in his previous home when he was just 2 days old. He has gone through so much in his short 5 months of life. Ali still needs a forever home. Without all of you we could not have gotten him this far. If you would like to donate or get more information please go to4paws1heart.org. thank you!!!!!! ♡ Gina

Bumper – Found With an Eye Ready to Rupture

10/4/16 – Dear Supporters, Thank you so very much for responding to the $1,000 Match Challenge; we exceeded our goal!!. We are humbled by the trust and confidence you have in us as you continue to share your hard-earned dollars to make miracles happen. Without you, we could not give a second chance of life to so many abandoned, stray, and abused animals.

Here is another happy update. This is Bumper. She was recently found wandering in the parking lot of a warehouse. The finder brought her in and with the help of friends, we were contacted. As you can see, Bumper’s eye was ready to explode, and in fact, by the time she was seen by a veterinarian, her eye had ruptured and it was necessary to remove it. Well, look at her today. Here is Cheryl’s (his ‘nurse’ while she recovered) report. ~ diana

“Bumper Update ❤️❤️

She’s on her way to the vet for her second round of vaccinations then going home with Mickey, her rescuer/dad, to live happily ever after!! It’s been a pleasure fostering her while she healed.. She truly is a wild child at heart. Very mischievous lol. She has doubled in size since she’s been here. No more ribs or hips showing! Thank you again 4 Paws 1 Heart for saving yet another life ❤️ God bless you all!”bumper-10416bumper-before
