BOOMERANG DOING GREAT WITH MEDICAL CARE AFTER A ROCKY START IN LIFE

7/12/22 – Had to share this happy update on Boomerang (aka Boomer/Rocky). It was in mid December when Boomer was found on the street zipped up in a small cat carrier. He was soaked in his own urine as he layed there next to a bone. He had urine burns and had issues walking and issues with his skin. At the time we were contacted we authorized Boomer to be seen by Dr. Z who found that his walking issues were because he had been trapped in a small cat carrier (for who knows how long) and very poor nutrition. Well, 6 months later, Boomer is doing great (as you can see) and he is ready to be neutered (which we will take care of). As our followers know, our help doesn’t end until he/she has been spayed/neutered. One of our ultimate goals is to make sure we do everything possible to reduce the over population of unwanted cats and dogs. The first two photos are when Boomer was first rescued and the other wase just received by his now owner/rescuer. – diana.

ROCKY SHOT AND IN PAIN CHOOSES HIS RESCUER WHO REACHES OUT TO 4PAWS1HEART FOR HIS MEDICAL CARE

7/12/22 – Here is the message I received from Rocket’s finder on July 5:

“How would I get help with emergency vet care for a stray cat that has been hanging around my house then disappeared for a couple weeks, this time he showed up horribly skinny and has some kind of infection on his face. He also is not neutered. I am on Disability from recent Liver transplant so my income is limited. He looks so much like My Cat I lost last year of old age I would give him a home, he is friendly and apparently thinks this is home he must have followed my dog thru the doggy door because I woke up to a crying cat. I took a pic of the poor guys face. – Rhonda”

I was able to authorize Rocket’s vet visit where it was found that Rocket had two puncture wounds under his neck, a broken jaw, an abscess caused by the wounds, and a bullet fragment which could have killed him had it been any closer too a vital organ. Rocket received x rays, antibiotics, pain meds, and will return for a check up and his neuter and vaccines. The doctor felt the jaw break would heal with minor impact to Rocket’s quality of life and felt that would be the better route than invasive surgery.

Here are two current photos of Rocket, one with his new buddy, who is trying to show Rocket how to behave. The third photo is of Rocket just one week ago, unless it is taken down by fb. Quite a difference as to what some love and care can do. – diana.

3 KITTENS UP A TREE HELPED BY YOUNG MASTERS TREE SERVICE

7/11/22 – Young Masters Tree Service is not only a great business but they go out of their way to help kitties in need. Often a kitten/cat will find his way up a tree because he’s being chased or maybe just curious. But, once up, they often find it impossible to get down because of how their paws were created. Young Masters has been there for many cats to not only save them but to then provide medical and then find homes. We have reached out to them and have been trying to help as much as possible. This is Christy, Jessie, and Janet. All rescued from danger and who we were happy to help get them vetted and, in Jessie’s case, seen for an injured back.

MORE ABOUT MUFFIN

7/10/22 – Muffin update!! – diana

She’s still pretty congested but yesterday we started her on Azithromycin. Huge thank you to Brenda Girard ! Life saver! Tomorrow I’m going to ask about adding in a steroid to the nebulizer. Today she is eating great! I finally found a food that she really likes. The diarrhea seems to have resolved for now hopefully it stays that way. Her eyes are still really red and she has discharge from her nostril on and off. I’ll take it because her spirits are so good right now! -Gina

ANOTHER MUFFIN UPDATE

Another Muffin update! – diana.

Muffin update .

She is such a little lover with an incredible spirit. She’s less congested and started eating better. Still some diarrhea but we are treating that. Her nose and eyes are clearer and her hydration much better. The nebulizer is definitely helping her breathing along with the antibiotics. She had me pretty scared yesterday morning but I’m feeling more confident that she will pull through this. When they are so tiny they go downhill fast and 1.5 pounds is not much. Thank you 4 paws 1 heart for backing medical care, our supporters for the positive thoughts and prayers. Also, huge thank you to Ann and Lou Kist and Karen for donating some special items to aid in the treatment for Muffins. ♡ It takes a village. I’ll post again soon. – Gina

LEIOMY UPDATE – HEARTWORM

7/8/22 – Leiomy Update – Leiomy was found on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit with no identifying tags or licenses. We posted about her on June 27. Yesterday, she was seen at Comforts Place and, unfortunately, she was found positive for heart worm. We will be covering her treatment and we are thankful to her rescuers for being committed to her recovery. Please remember this very sweet girl in your prayers. Only with the support of our friends can we continue to cover these very expensive medical needs for our fur orphans. – diana.

I had her on IV fluids all day along with all the other meds and she seems to be much more stable than this morning. She is on a LOT of stuff but all very necessary.. I’ll post again soon, but I just wanna say that I’m so grateful for Moore Veterinary Hospital who is taking care of her and I feel so blessed that she is showing improvement. Now, she is back at home with me for the weekend where I will continue her round the clock care. Paws crossed and thank I for prayers!

Update – My foster kitten isn’t doing so well this morning. I have her hospitalized on IV fluids. She stopped eating, lethargic, cold, dehydrated, and tons of diarrhea. She’s on an IV for fluids along with everything else. Paws crossed please! I’m going to call her Muffin because she’s always making muffins with her paws.- Gina
